- I found out it's actually quite difficult to control the loco and film at the same time but I hope you all enjoy!

This acquisition could do with some explanation - decision, cost, direction change, opportunity etc. Also a detailed explanation of all the bits. Good news!
Thank you they were the questions I was going to ask. I have the kits up to number six delivered for the "Polly 5" but have been stuck over in the Philippines for 18 months (due to travel restrictions) so haven't started building yet. This is my first steam model (used to fly model aircraft and still have 5 turbine powered models )
I have now finished the model and can honestly say without my own milling /lathe machine it would never have got to the end of the project I also had to rely on ordering parts off the internet I,e, screws nuts bolts etc. I was told by Polly that I was being restricted to one email per week but if the parts, drawings, and instructions had been correct I would not have needed to email them. At over £7200 the quality of the parts should be much better and we the customer should not b blamed because of faulty or missing or poor quality parts. It has passed it's pressure test and I am just waiting to do it's first steaming
@@ianmcnulty3279 Interesting, thanks for posting.
Very helpful. Hope learn to drive at the club I have joined. Many thanks.
Well done! You’ve given me some more motivation to continue with my Polly 3 build 👍
Glad to hear it!
Really Looking forward to this 😜👍🏽😆🚂
👍👍
Really nice engine you got there Ollie and 19 years is a long time so it’s great to see it running so well 🙃
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed!!
It's very beautiful and wonderful layout.
And it's a cute locomotive.
Thanks!
Well done Ollie, Great video!
Thanks David! Glad you enjoyed mate
Wow how envious am I. Would love to see a video of firing up and things to check for. Many thanks.
I’ll see what I can do!
Very nice Ollie. It's a different business driving a steam engine, I dare say. It runs well and I hope you get a chance to find out if it pulls well soon. Sorry I missed the Premieré but a grand video and day-out had by all. Cheers!
That's the plan!
Now we're talking a live steam loco, Underground Eric didn't seem too impressed :)
We will get him to smile one day!
😭🤣
Wonderful! Great job!
Thanks Stan, glad you enjoyed!
@@WardleRestorations I have a 5" gauge Ajax I'm attempting to revive. 5" gauge is quite unheard of here in the U.S.
The Ajax is a lovely loco! Best of luck 👍
Love the video
Thank you Paul!
Cheers from California !
Hope you enjoyed!
Great nice to see live steam your lucky keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed the video Dennis, hopefully lots more steam content in the next few videos!
@@WardleRestorations Thank you hope you can take a look at my videos and tell me what you think
Sure I’ll have a look later 👍👍
I built the original Polly 30 years ago. It was a 0-4-0 tender loco. Never got to steam it. Ran it in on air. Was short of money so she had to go. Started a LNER Y4 some years back but due to ill health it’s stored away
What this exact polly or just one similar? Hope you enjoyed the video!
Are you the Dave Drury that used to be a member of the I&WEMRC?
@@henrybest4057 no many years ago i was a member of Ryedale society of model engineers then life got in the way
@@WardleRestorationsNo it was a Polly 1a tender loco
Ah fair enough, i absolutely love this Polly 3, I did look at the Polly2 as well but decided I wasn’t ready for a tender loco yet!
That's a fantastic piece of machinery. You should be extremely pleased. I was, seeing it! You may just have to invest in a hat and GoPro camera to film and drive at the same time, or build in a cell phone holder. :D
Hi Anthony, it’s funny you say that, I actually have just received a body strap for my iPhone, so hopefully I can get some good footage of me driving the loco👍😁
I've been looking into 5" railways recently with very hopeful ideas to lay a simple circuit of track circling my newly moved into, detached house.
Any ideas on what I could have on the size of a small(ish) however smooth turn radius? (What small scale is the smallest and which of the smallest is smoothest with medium sized engines like in the video?)
There’s a few options but it really depends on budget, some of the larger tender locos wouldn’t run on tight curves but I think this Polly 3 being an 0-6-0 can handle most sharp curves. If you are worried about 0-6-0s on your track then look at a small 4 wheel based diesel or steamer 👍
Lovely runner, looks really nice, does it roll easily or is it a bit stiff? Our Polly I is not so good at the moment and we struggle to keep pressure so interesting to see a similar loco doing so well.
I’ve had a few days where I keep losing the pressure but I think this is a driver error, other days I’m blowing off the safety valves all the time ! She runs well for me most the time I’ve had her so far
Letsssss gooooo carnt wait
Hope you enjoy it!!
How do you stand and transport?
Ollie Great Video M8 Believe you me injectors can be a nightmare mate , The main thing isto keep them minty clean internally Regards Dave
And keeping them cold or they won’t work! I have a lot to learn, hope you enjoyed the video David👍
Great stuff , ready for your next open day ?.
Loco needs a couple of bits work but should be good in no time
Where can i buy one
She's cute!
👍🏼
👍👍
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
👀😁😁
The tank engine ought to have nameplates on her side tanks. I think she should be named Salina, and the number on her cabsides could be 20. Perhaps white lining could be added to the edges of her blue side tanks and cabsides, it would compliment the gold bands on her boiler. I love her so much, I'd love to borrow her after the Llangollen Railway reopens. There is a length of 5 inch gauge track behind Carrog Station, between the carriage support shops and Carrog Signal Box. But it all depends on whether you and the boss would allow it. Only you can say yes or no to my request. I'd give anything to drive and fire her. You're a good driver and fireman yourself, Ollie. You get 20 out of 10 from me.
Glad you enjoyed Kelly, I plan to take the Polly all over the place and visit as many railways as possible during the warm summer months! Hopefully next video I can get some better footage of firing her up and running! 🚂
Keep fiddling with controls...?
And?
I bet you hear this all the time but you have my dream garden are you ever open to the public?
I’m afraid this isn’t Ollie’s garden mate
@@EthansTrains who's is the house there ?
If you watch some earlier videos from the railway I think it has some more background, I’m not really sure who actually owns it but it’s not open to the public sadly
@@EthansTrains such a shame
As GBRf66 said, it’s a friends garden not open to the public sadly!
