    Thank you for making this video.. This refrigerant leak will likely be a chronic problem in these model years, thanks for identifying it..

    Ahhh. The old blend door actuator. I’ve changed these on grand marquis, crown vics, mark VIII, mountaineer, lots of Ford products. I actually took a small wrench and welded a small socket to it to get the reach and be able to extract those small bolts. It’s been a long time since I’ve touched one, but I’ve been there! Can’t believe they still go bad on newer Ford products.

      this was the txv and lines to it but yeah they are still bad

      @@FordBossMe changing the foam gasket was a great idea and a professional gesture. That really would mess with the next guy if the system had a future leak.

      @@Fireship1 I always try to think about if somebody else had to follow me up did I leave it to where they could start somewhere fresh and not be screwed over by my lack of cleanliness or my work

    Another great one Brother. I just discovered that my 19 Lariat has air but not as cold as it should be. It was fine last summer, once I figured out the switchology……I tried an auto zone R134 recharger but the connector doesn’t fit…….This is way over my head so I’ll get a pro to diagnose.

    • @jefferysharp3368
      @jefferysharp3368 Год назад

      Follow up…..Still no AC…..Tech found refrigerant near 0. Compressor clutch not engaging. Now, I discovered that the radiator cooling fans are not coming on, causing overheat condition with prolonged idle. This reminded me of last year when the cooling fans were running at high speed, almost any time the engine was running. Very obnoxious…..I also found that one of the pressure switch connector wires was missing insulation but not shorting anywhere. I’ll clean this up. Tech charged me $17 an ounce for the new refrigerant……Seemed high. I go back in the morning 4/17 to get additional troubleshooting done. I’ll ask him to check the expansion valve. I will also look at it myself to see if I can see any evidence of leaks. Thanks Brother!

      The connector doesn't fit because it's not R134.

    Bought me a WERA BC 10 Zyklop mini ratchet kit..Just for them motors...I use it every summer..
    The last one. GM Camaro.. Blend door broke off. GM calls for 14 hours to replace.. At $2,200.00 for labor and a $35.00 dollar part...As you have to pull the windshield. With the whole dash! he opted to just cut the Driver side box out. So you can pull the old door out.. Replace with new one. Then Plastic weld the cutout back on...Took me 2 hours...1 hour was just to remove the driver seat..

    Ford held my truck hostage from February-May this year. They couldn’t figure out why my AC wasn’t blowing cold. I then took it to Kwik Kar and they just flushed out the condenser and replaced the compressor. Worked for the past month and went hot again this week. Wondering if the blend door actuator could be the issue. Pressure line is warm/hot to touch even though it is properly charged.

      Could be blend door, try battery cable reset

    Do you need to calibrate the actuator. Mine didn’t work after replacing it. Need to check if it’s the right parts for this location. I read it’s the same parts for the passenger and driver side.

    Nice Diag. I love how tge blend door act is more accessible in the f150. I had to tear apart my front console to get to my explorers!!! Im def digging that mini wrench kit so please put the model no. if you dont mind. Also what is the make and model of that UV light? That was also cool and perfect for tight and hard to reach areas? Thanks again

    My 2017 f250 is doing the same i havent had the charge checked but heat works perfect but as far as cooling nothing at all blows warm air i gave my condensor a pressure wash thinking it was dirty since i travel all over the US and due to my work sites but still nothing ima try and take it to the local dealship here in indiana and see what they see on the recharge and if its leaking but whats your thoughts on the evap temp sensor on this truck its a diesel

  • @markt7291

    My 2017 5.0 might be the issue. Fans on high all the time when AC on. It blows cool . It’s not the thermostat. Gauges show correct R1234 low side about 35 and high side around 180/200. I’ve heard this part could be the issue. ? What ya think. ? Florida summer. 🤷‍♂️

      High side pressure switch, cht sensor, plugged condenser

    I notice a clicking sound when I use the climate system always in/behind the dash. Is that the actuator ? Are there more than one?
    Great video !

    Please help,
    I have 2018 Ford F-150 Ecoboost 2.7L. First start of the day my truck AC always starts cold. As I continue to drive it throughout the day, turning the truck Off/On the air blows hot for about 5 to 10 minutes until I can drive it on some load and eventually the AC starts to blow cold again, but if I turn off the truck And turn it back on. It will go back to hot air until I start driving for another 10 minutes at least.
    I took it to my first mechanic and he couldn’t find anything wrong with it. No leaks refrigerant was full AC compressor working condenser, Fuses and relays. Everything checked out fine. He recommended I take it to the dealer.
    I take it to the dealer and explain what was going on after a day and a half they recommended I replace the AC compressor, condenser and evap valve claiming it can get clogged or have small metal particles break off into the system.
    I had my first mechanic replace all those parts despite his opinion of nothing being wrong in those areas, I rolled the dice and went on the Ford dealer suggestion and replace those parts new.
    I still have the same issue as originally stated. I don’t know what to do at this point.

      Sometimes a problem like that doesn't have anything to do with AC condenser or the AC compressor or the evaporator it more has to do with the expansion valve

      @jesussandoval2936 Год назад

      I apologize by Evap I meant to put expansion valve which was replaced as well.

    Local shop told me my 18 expedition front evaporator was leaking diag with UV light. What are chances it was incorrect diag and was this, just the TXV? Seems a much easier fix. He was underneath on a lift under the passenger dash area.

  • @Buck651

    Whats the final cost for everything including labor

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 года назад

      Depending on what you want
      You're going to pay about $300 for the lines and then I splicing kit is another 60 bucks plus about 2 hours labor
      If you want the lines installed complete from front to back all new lines it's going to be about 7 hours labor because you have to drop the rear subframe

      You may need a refill for your refrigerant. Check the pressure in your AC compressor, if it's too low, a refill is needed.
