Remember, if the pin don't fit, you must Quit! Sorry, goofy but true

I really like the method. On non Fords we can use a scan tool to activate the compressor. I like your trusty window motor. I remember that one from the old old days. Back when u used to use your little Bosch for almost everything. I have a little old SnapOn someone gave me for the quick light stuff. The trigger is forward and reverse. It’s small and really light. Everything else is the Milwaukee ratchets. I use four of them. The extended one is super powerful and it gets everywhere.

I got a 2014 F150 I am working on now and it came to me with a low charge. Previous diagnosis by the dealership said he needed a new A/C Condenser. After recovering the refrigerant and pumping it down and adding tracer dye and oil it held good vacuum for about 20 minutes. I charged by weight at 1.5 lbs and it was blowing cold at 48 degrees with an outside temperature of 90 with high humidity in Tampa. I also replaced the blower motor at the customers request because he feels the air does not blow hard enough. My first question is since it came from another repair facility and was low on refrigerant is if there was a refrigerant leak with this system from your experience where do I sniff it out at with my electronic sniffer and if there is an airflow issue where do I look. Another question is does this vehicle have a cabin air filter? Thank you and always a follower of your great videos. Thank you Richards Auto and Air

My fiancé has a 2017 F150 and while we were coming back from vacation, the AC quit. I had her pull over at a rest stop and discovered that the rubber part of the clutch had basically disintegrated leaving rubber flung all over everything. Truck had less than 33,000 miles on it and of coarse was out of warranty due to it being four years old.
This truck has the newer 1234yf refrigerant and none of the local shops were equipped to service vehicles with this new stuff so we had to take it to the dealer to get repaired. Just replacing the clutch was going to cost almost as much as just replacing the whole compressor so she had the compressor replaced. $1,100 later she has working AC again. We tried to get them to fix it under a good will warranty but no dice. Needless to say my fiancé who is a life long Ford owner was not impressed. Her last truck was a 1 ton 2003 Ford Super Duty that she bought new and it still had all of the original AC equipment and had never been recharged in the 14 years she owned it and it still blew cold air.
    Great Video.

After the blower motor wearing out caused the blower switch , resistor and pigtails failed on my friends 2010 E250, 5.4. I pointed out he could install a heavy duty switch to the ground side of the fan to bypass the fan switch and resistor and now on the hottest days in so cal inland empire the A/C blows even harder do to reduced voltage drop and it still goes off with the key do to the blower relay.

It was in the beginning, I can tell based on the output temp and low side pressure how healthy the compressor is so I rarely have to hook it up. I pretty much only use the high side line when diagnosing scroll compressors.

You could apply 12v to the clutch coil. Or see if it’s getting power at the connector

Great video! Where is the low pressure switch located? I know this should be a 2 pin switch, I cannot seem to find it on mine anywhere.

Awesome video Brian. I have an issue with an 05 FX4 150. Had it at the garage this week and he couldn't figure it out. My CEL came on back in December and had it checked out. Said it was something with my a/c. Cleared the code to get the CEL light to go out but now have no a/c. Have no idea what the code was or where to begin. Going to test the diode and relay tomorrow, but all fuses are good. (Pulled them out and checked) The fellow this week told me he couldn't get power to the compressor plug and said it could be the PCM. Still has original compressor on it and figured that's what it was. Any ideas please?
    Thank u in advance
