About to get one installed myself was wondering if the remote start system would work. But seeing it work on your 96 Chevy have very little doubt it will work on my 06 Durango
It should so as long as there is no vehicle anti theft to get through, that would be your biggest pain, but in the end it’s very worth it if you hate getting in a cold vehicle like me.
Daniel Jr Polendo this 4105V is the only remote start I have experience with and I’ve had no problems with it since I’ve had it installed over a year and a half ago.
Okay then, I would have to check that out. But if it does I would need a bypass modulator ? But either way this is helpful advice and information. I Appreciate it
Daniel Jr Polendo yes, Passlock/VATS requires a chipped key to start the motor, so the module tricks the computer into thinking the key is in the ignition when the remote start is activated. You’re welcome for the information btw.
Is there a way to get the wire diagram? I got the same remote start setup for my 98 gmc k1500 and want to try to install it myself.. I'm just not able to find a diagram. Thanks in advance and nice truck, love this body style
Joey MaGanja I hold the start button for about a second just to be safe, the parking lights flash when the command is received to start the vehicle. You can start the vehicle through a few walls but I recommend holding the start button for about 3-5 seconds. But once you hit the button it takes about 5-10 seconds to start, depending on how hot/cold it is outside, and if the engine is already warm or not.
@@WorldWidedog0 interesting.. lol. thanks homie i appreciate your quick response. Ill Buy this as yet another Xmas gift for myself and car. Great Vid and dope truck I love that body style
Hey man great video! Do you know or can you find out if they had to use a bypass when they installed it i cant seem to find out anywhere. I have the same model truck and would like to do this as well. Thanks for any input.
danny Snt That run time is standard run time before auto turning off. There’s a way to get into the module and change but I don’t know how, really only viper dealers know how to.
Just curious, How is your viper system working. It looks like you’ve had it for about a year now and I’m considering getting one for my 2010 Dodge Ram truck. Just heard viper was bought out a couple months ago. Any feedback would be appreciated.
The Fandinos I’ve had it for almost 2 years now, and I’m still happy with it, my only problem is sometimes in the winter on the first crank it won’t start the engine, but that’s just how I have the crank timer set low so it won’t overcrank, also I had a problem where the RPM wire wasn’t tapped in good enough so it wouldn’t tell the module the engine was running so it leave the starter engaged, but after the RPM wire was retapped that stopped happening.
Adrian Correa it sounds like you’re saying you don’t have electronic locks right? If so you can still do the remote start and not have electronic locks, but contact your local dealer/installer and see if they can add electronic locks if that’s also what you want
Anyone know how much Amps Viper use from battery?? Without remote starter power consuption is about 0.04Amps, after Viper 4205V instalation battery drainage is about 0.56Amps - it's normal or they connected in wrong way? Viper is killing battery within one week when you don't use car.

tay white probably, just not connect a wire, but I didnt install the system myself, and I’m actually a fan of the honking, it helps me know if I locked from far away.
With this viper remote, you press the AUX button on the side once and then lock it or unlock it and the beeping should be off and you just hear the lock. Hope this helps but like World says, I like the beeping so i know if it is locked/unlocked from far away.

You can wire the aux to roll down windows, or heated seats, or anything like that for them cold or hot days
ZaHe I should’ve seen about wiring the power windows to the aux button, I unfortunately don’t have heated seats
I was skimming thru this FAST - If a car already has a factory alarm which is thru the vehicles "horn", then would this be a waste ? I'm asking, because I'm for a LOUD alarm.
I would think so. But this vehicle did not have a factory alarm system on it. So I’m unsure.

How much was the install at sound solutions
Lyons Den Films $75 took around 2 hours for them to complete the job.
Any complaints?
No other than my crank time is too short for winter here in NC, but that’s no vipers fault, my installer just didn’t set the crank time long enough
Will this work on 2008 Silverado
What happens if you hit the gas without the key in the ignition?
Cole Pike the engine will rev as normal, for mine at least, as my truck has a cable operated throttle body

What did they charge
I have a similar truck as your and wanted to know if everything you needed for the install came in the box or did you need to purchase some add ons

Depending on if the truck has passlock or VATS equipped, which I believe became standard in 1998
Why does your your truck have 4 window switches? Did they make a model where ex cabs could roll down the back?
