Mag lights flicker like that consistently and reliably, their circuit is redicuously simple it's why they are so heavy duty. One going from off to on and another going from on to off like that is 100% what anyone who's ever played with one would expect.
Based on other episodes it's obvious Shane knows this fact well and there's no doubt in my mind he just said what he said to make it more entertaining. If he really wanted to give his argument evidence he'd tell the flashlight to just stay how it is.
Also when they do the flashlight stuff, they unscrew the light until it only takes a tiny amount of movement to reconnect it. Ghost hunters say its because spirits don't have the power to move it more than that but if they can move cabinets and chairs I think they can use a flashlight.

Poor neighbors, trying to sleep in the middle of the night and all of a sudden hear Shane shout "You now have the right to enter my soul! OUHFLOUHLAFLOUH"
A lot of the things she describes are things I deal with but are caused by sleep disturbances. I get bruises from restless legs and I accidentally set off Siri with sleep talking and sleep paralysis is scarey as hell and can seriously mess with your head, especially when you are half between sleep and wake.
I'm really late to the party but I was thinking in the same lines. Due to her weight she might be developing sleep apnea and that would absolutely be disorienting and terrifying enough for someone to look towards the supernatural for an explanation.

I agree, and as someone who has lived in many apartments over the years, you are always hearing weird noises (thumps, knocking that sounds like it's your door but isn't, dogs running around/barking/growling) and smelling weird stuff (the burning smell wasnt uncommon when living in a complex with a lot of college students). Usually I can't even tell whose apartment this stuff is coming from, one time it was coming from outside and I thought it was the people below me.
@@HebiRein I am super late to the party but I agree.. It can also explain the bruising, there was a time when I gained a lot of weight and my upper legs started to bruise while I was sleeping.. It stopped once I lost some weight.. Also, I started to snore during that time and it would wake me up but that also went away with the weight loss..
FYI I know this is super old but my tricks that help me get out sleep paralysis are, KEEP YOUR EYES CLOSED! I know it’s scary. Just keep them closed. After you managed to keep them closed, FOCUS on moving your toes. This has helped me so much it’s pretty much stopped my sleep paralysis. Because I don’t give it a chance to scare me

Rewatching the series long after it has concluded. I am a hardcore Shaniac but (don't get excited, Boogaras) I love how credulous Ryan is. He truly does believe this stuff. here's the thing: I'm a skeptic, a true skeptic who is open to the possibility but views evidence with a critical eye. however, the last thing I ever want to do is discount the emotional experience of going through something that is deemed a haunting because regardless of what it actually is, it's scary. so I don't want to say Loey didn't actually go through something nor do I want to say it wasn't scary.
but like, I have PTSD, I'm freaked out by random noises all the time, sometimes I feel uneasy out of nowhere. just because there's a feeling doesn't mean it's reflective of an objective reality. the feeling is still very real and can be hard to process and come down from, and it's unpleasant to feel uneasy in your own home, seemingly for no reason. it's not a fun way to live; I know this from experience.
I just wish more believers in the paranormal were more vocal about this type of thing. being sensitive to energy, getting feelings about places -- this just means you're sensitive to feeling, not that you are experiencing a reaction to an objective input. sometimes I feel emotions that are not proportional to the actual situation at hand. sometimes I get really freaked out when a delivery person knocks on my door. not just startled - freaked out. lowkey paranoid. sometimes I'll wait several hours before getting whatever was delivered (except when I know it's food lol). but that doesn't mean an actual threat is there.
and this goes for spooky places. if I went to a spooky, supposedly haunted place, I would be feeling SO MANY THINGS lol I would feel scared and I would feel dread and I would not want to go in. that doesn't mean anything nefarious actually exists. it just means my internal alarm system was trained by trauma to be overly sensitive. now that the trauma has thankfully passed, the sensitivity is maladaptive and causes more harm than good.
TLDR feelings are not inherently objective. we should be examining feelings very closely in the context of investigating the paranormal.

Dragontammer Dragon don’t be ignorant. They’re turning off and on all the time because they loosened the hatch on the battery compartment so that the connections are barely touching. You’re just seeing the times they turned off and on after they ask questions, but they are flickering on and off every few seconds. It’s not difficult to figure out how these things work. They make it sound as though the radio signal is an alphabet soup of names that a spirit can pluck out and use....it's a set (oftentimes prerecorded) signal. The only manipulation of it is effectively turning it on and off real quick...any "word" derived is 100% coincidental.

I've had stuff "slowly inch away", particularly glass on a smooth surface like a counter. If the glass was wet, that very much would explain it. Sometimes, counters can change shape due to moisture and heat, especially if they're wooden counters (if hers is a stone counter, then none are applicable), and sometimes they are just not built completely even, especially near the ledges. If you put a heavy glass that has a wet bottom, a very specific sort of surface friction is created which helps stuff slide really easily. It's physics, not anything paranormal.
I have a rather large collection of energy drink cans and some of them started moving on their own and outwards when I was putting others on the shelves. That, for example, is due to static electricity. I have to wash them thrice a year because of dust, after which I put them all in large bin bags for safekeeping. Those bin bags create static electricity, especially if the atmospheric conditions are right, and the bottoms of those cans were still wet which made them slide without me touching them. If I put one can near the other, one would just freak out and slide away.
Regardless, a lot of things that might seem paranormal are just normal things that the casual person doesn't really understand.

Specifically on the part where she was just waking up or just going to sleep and she heard a very clear, very specific voice on the other side of her door ask a full question: this happens to me literally all the time when I’m falling asleep or drowsy. I will hear a voice say something, could be a word or a sentence, and it sounds VERY real and VERY clear, sometimes like they’re talking into my ear. One time I heard my mom’s voice yell “GET UP!” And I jumped out of bed but it was midnight and obviously no one was there lol. Yes it’s kind of creepy that it feels so real-I mean she responded. I’ve responded before, and I jumped out of bed but it’s not an indication that someone was really there. It just kind of happens when ur transitioning into sleep but there’s something keeping u a little conscious like for her a tv or I’ll read on my phone so the light
