I've watched this many times now, and I really appreciate Shane asking if Ryan is alright after seeing him truly scared. He would joke around a lot, rebuffing Ryan's claims most of the time, but seeing how really shaken Ryan was, he really tried to console Ryan and agreeing that Ryan might have encountered something

I did do some ghost hunting in St. Augustine. A few places are built on a burial ground. The Potter Wax musuem I think was one and im not sure if the fort or Ripleys was.

24:05 two theories: if this is saying "swap me" then I think it's Eliza switching out with Joseph, who then precedes to talk about falling off the roof. But I think that this actually says "Not Me", because Ryan has been talking with Joseph the whole time, and picked up him talking to Eliza. I think at least three ghosts are here during this, because while Ryan is freaking out over 23:54, there are a bunch voices talking in the background that sound farther away, as if they're further up the stairs.

'chimney' might be 'scaffolding' but there aren't enough syllables.. so I'm not sure what to do with that one.

That was some of the most compelling evidence for the existence of ghosts they ever captured. I wish Ryan would've screwed his courage to the sticking place just once, if only for Eliza. When she asked, "you can hear me?" and "why are you leaving?" was a bit heartbreaking.
Not going to lie, having been there several times in my life, it can be unnerving. Even during the day in the hottest parts of summer, you can sometimes find freezing cold patches as you're climbing up the tower. It has no air conditioning in the actual lighthouse itself. There have often been times you can feel dread or like someone is watching or touching you, even if you're climbing alone. There was one incident on a school trip of mine that our teacher got a bad feeling and told all of us who were in the group to move back. Seconds later? The railing around the lighthouse started wobbling violently as if it was about to tear off. There was no wind. I never booked it down stairs so fast.

See, this is probably one of my favorite episodes. It's mainly because none of the ghosts here seem to have any kind of malicious intent, it's all very sad what happened to them, but the worst case scenario here is just a grumpy guy who'd rather you aren't there. But everyone there, in my mind seems fairly kind and welcoming. It's also one of the most active places, and to me, that shows that people don't need to be afraid of all ghosts.

This story is so sad and true . There is actual sightings during the day and night by actual visitors and workers . This is a beautiful lighthouse with so much history. I think i’d want to stay because i was getting good evidence and what it was saying made me feel sympathetic towards it rather than scared when i was watching but i’m sure being there would be another world. This is one of the more convincing episodes I think - the fact the “Eliza” was so clear and the repeating of “chimney” in “fell off a chimney” made it seem actually coherent. The added “you hear me” as well - it’s like the ghost is surprised the spirit box works lmao. Still don’t fully believe in ghost, but 10/10 ghost-y stuff

Despite all the evidence that was captured in this episode I still couldn’t really focus because I was thinking about the cat successfully parachuting from the top. I mean what happened after that? ive been rewatching the series recently and wow, ryan's solo investigation has to be the best piece of evidence they have ever captured. whoever or whatever that was was having a genuine, intelligent conversation with him. gives me chills!
I think this is still a really great episode, we don't see a full, swift conversation over the spirit box like that very often where a ghost answers coherently in most of these episodes. If I'm honest most spirit box noises from this old series just sounds like garbled nothing to me, so this actually seems like a real ghost (to me at least)

I finally got the chance to visit St. Augustine recently. I unfortunately sprained my ankle before the lighthouse trip… No, that did not stop me from making the 400+ steps of the building (counting going back down). Definitely recommend the city. It’s beautiful, and has a very cool lighthouse to boot.

People theorize it's because Ryan is a believer and Shane is not. If you were a supposed ghost, why would you bother trying to talk to someone who is just going to mock you? Ryan actually takes the time to try to listen and speak with them. It makes sense to me.

i know this is kind of a meme, but really i think the spirits are afraid of shane. or they just plain don't like him. like imagine you were just vibing somewhere and some giant lanky man comes through the door being loud and pestering his friend/you. i wouldn't wanna talk to him either. most ghosts are totally harmless and even somewhat shy, so a person like ryan who is gentle for the most part and open to a two way conversation is more likely to draw out responses from them.
