@@calbreeze5990 In my case its just a hobby, i make about 10 pairs a year for myself, family and friends. Here in Poland allmost noone can make boots by hand anymore, so i presume if i would like to make a living from bootmaking it will work out since a lot of people i meet want me to make boots for them and are ready to pay a lot for them. I do all my boots only by hand using double needle technique, without sewing machine at all (and i am the only person i know to sew boots this way). You need only few things- knife, shoe last (absolutely necesary, buy plastic, not wooden), hand awl (stright and bend- buy old, used on ebay, cheap), hammer, shoemaking pillers (ebay once again), leatherworking needle and of course leather, shoemaking glue (buy the best one availeable), twain (once again the best you can find), nails, sole (really hard to get vibram where i live, i have to use replacement). I got all my first tools for about 50$, dont know prices in USA. The most expensive part is leather and unfortunately it's hard to practise on other materials. You can learn everything from YT, i guarantee. Generally bootmaking is extremely hard and extremely satysfying- good luck!
This is so cool. I ordered a.pair of Bakers BH too. Same 7" same close edge single stitch. Same upper! I went cinnamon waxed flesh vamp. Can't wait for them. 5 weeks into the wait....
really enjoyed this video it almost feel like a casual boot talk and not having to feel intimidated by my limited boot knowledge White's bounty hunter is unique in its own way and certainly deserve more reviews
Love all of your boot videos! Planning to pick up my first pair of cutters… I see you have both close trim and standard double row… which one would you recommend? Thank you!
Hey I just found this review. I ordered my first whites MPs over Black Friday and now that I gave them a test drive I’m in love. I found out about bakers. Contemplating a similar makeup to yours. Any advantages for the lace to toe vs standard toe or is it just aesthetic?
Hey! The bounty hunters are only available through Baker shoe, here’s the link below, if you have any questions about the options just let me know, I’m happy to help and so is Bakers they are great over email. bakershoe.com/collections/custom-boots/products/bakers-custom-bounty-hunter-by-whites-boots I’ll make sure my Options for this boot are in the bio

@@trinityhandmade3864 I’m fascinated with how shoes are made. I never saw stitching on the bottom of the sole before. Is that from the welting or a separate stitching process? That’s a lot of material to put an awl through.
So that is the outsole stitch, on these boots that part is done with a machine. There are plenty of makers who do that part by hand with an awl though. All of the Indonesian boot makers do that by hand with a much higher spi then these White’s. The hand welt refers to that thin black strip of leather that’s stitched to the mid sole and outsole etc. You can’t see it because the sole covers it but that welt is hand stitched to the upper. So that’s the part they are referring to when they say they are Hand Welted.
Here’s a good photo to illustrate the construction. The white stitching is done by hand, then the mid and out sole are put on so this part is never seen. instagram.com/p/BjuRjKOBkXr/?
@@PoliticalDissident Now they're up to $700 or more with options. The basic versions were under $500 in 2019. I like White's but this is getting friggin' ridiculous.
These are not the DR makeup, DR uses cinnamon waxed flesh on the lowers not natural. They also use all eyelets and a few other details are different. Plus I ordered these on March 17th, months before they dropped those boots so if anything they copied me 😂😂
Really informative! And dude, I love how laid back and chill you are 😆🍻 Boot review therapy 🙂🤙🏽
Let the soothing sounds of my voice lull you to sleep David.
I am a bootmaker myself, and thats one of the most beautiful boots i have ever seen :)
Wow! Big compliment thank you, I can’t take credit for the boots but I’ll take credit for the details and idea of them!
How’d you get into boot making? I’ve been trying to find the best way to do it without having to move states or go fully bankrupt

Thanks Jim! Check out my other videos, casual is all I have the energy to do 😆 I just like boots and like talking about them.
I don’t use my loops, but I like how they look better than without.
Looks sooooo good

Thanks Cory! Really appreciate that. Check out the rest on my playlist when you have time please!
Those beautiful!! Is that a block heel or something different?
Boot people yeah!
Lindas botas
Good video. Nice looking boot. Is the Commando Mini Lug Half Sole made by Commando? Looks like a Vibram Mini Lug 430.
It is Vibram, it’s just referred to by white’s as commando mini lug, the v100 full lug is sometimes referred to as a full commando or just commando.
LOVE BOOTS..❤
Are your Truman boots same size as your bounty hunters?
Damn, those are PURDY!
Thanks!!

If you have a lower instep lace to toe is nice because you can adjust the tension of the lacing further down your foot
Definitely better off with the structured toe... unstructured toe flattens out the toe box
How can i order these? Just show them this video?
very very nice an look like choice boot
Beauties, bro!!
Thank you!!
My feet are 11 1/8. Do you think I will fit a 10 in the cutters?
😍😍😍😍
i like whaits boot
Would you happen to know how heavy the bounty hunters are vs the MP boots?
Each model is so different because there are endless possibilities with sole setups and leather etc, I don’t think you could accurately measure it
they are 1 color? the uppers look different...
2 different leathers
How good is the kiltie on this model?
Very good?
Nice video I looked on their site and couldn't find it, does it have another name?

What’s the difference between the semi dress last and the 55 last that comes with the cutters?
They are the same!

forgive me for copying your bounty hunters colorway (leatherway?) but in plain toe. :(
No worries at all! Do it.
Is the welt really hand sewn
Yes White’s are really all leather hand welted stitchdown construction.

Cool vid. Are these the Smoke Jumpers or the Bounty Hunters? Thanks
Bounty hunters, through baker shoe.
bakershoe.com/products/bakers-custom-bounty-hunter-by-whites-boots
I guess the lace to toe and plain toe just look a bit different. Thanks
It is essentially a lace to toe smoke jumper. It’s just on the 55 last, Baker shoe calls it a bounty hunter but it’s all pretty much the same boot.
How is the sizing on these? I wear a 10 in red wing and 10.5 in sneakers
How much?
Roughly $650

how many weeks did you wait to ship?
I ordered them 3/17 and they were delivered 5/25!
@@trinityhandmade3864 thank you for the reply
@@trinityhandmade3864 Only 2 months? I thought they would take 5 to 6.
White’s usually runs 12-16 weeks so 4 months tops but sometimes they are surprising and do it super quick. Just luck of the draw really.
