    Just find it hard to trust a company that took so long to sort out the safety of their product when it should have been the primary concern.They are all about marketing ...liked and thanks as always MCM

    Just bought one as a 2nd helmet...I'm pleasantly surprised that I like it. For what I paid (pre black friday sale) it's a great deal. I needed to go a size up from normal. As a side note, any noise issues that some mention are mitigated by the fact that I wear ear plugs always...

    A good honest review and it is nice to know that you can go somewhere to try before you buy (even if it is Stevenage) . Ruroc did themselves some damage with the 3.0. The 4.0 looks a lot better but your build quality issues still means it is not for me. I hope the 5.0 fixes all of this .

    Nice review. I'm a sucker for this style of helmet and many years ago was happy with Craft helmets but they've long gone. I did consider one of these but ended up with a Simpson Venom. I'm really pleased with it but tbh, I tend to grab my every-day AGV. Cheers

    So I got a 4.0 Carbon in XL and I've been enjoying it. The crown fits well if the cheeks are a little tight. That said the cheek pads are nice on the skin and feel pleasantly soft. I might get different pads, but I'm waiting to see how it breaks in over 500 miles. It breathes well. Not as good as my Arai Corsair X, but that's twice the price. The visor changes very easy and pads as well if putting in a Bluetooth unit. I get a quite bit of wind coming in just under/behind ears. If pushing the padding up and back the wind all but dissappears. Over all I'm happy and will be adding it to the rotation of my Arai Corsair X, Shoei RFSR, and Shoei Neotec 2.

    Why, have they gone to all that fuss on the packaging, its the helmet we're wearing, not the box!
    Much rather have a plain carboard box and £20 off the purchase price.

    I was feeling rich last year and bought the track. As it’s my first bike and second helmet, I really don’t know what I’m supposed to be looking for in a high quality helmet but I was definitely suckered in by the flight simulator look. I only saw the bad reviews after purchase so I don’t know if I should feel ripped off or not. I like it but only have my scorpion exo to compare it to. The scorpion is quieter and not so breezy but it vibrates a bit at 100k+. The track is fairly motionless. The stereo at low or no speeds probably sounds better than the $26 one I got off amazon for the scorpion but at anything over 40k it only sounds slightly louder. I’m also fighting with the visor every time I have to switch it out and am constantly afraid of breaking one of the small delicate looking pieces that are supposed to fit in just so. After it’s in, there’s fingerprints all over the visor. I’m happy with my purchase though, they now have a Boba Fett one that looks sweet.

    i bought the version 2 when it came out and was in love....until the honeymoon period wore off and realised the flaws in the design. Preordered the version 3 excited with the revised design in the padding and the decals but thats when the ruroc quality controversy really hit the ground hard. Luckily I hard already cancelled my order due to unrelated reasons. Ever since then I've found it hard to trust their helmets and it seems like theyre still only putting in about 80% of the work to get it to a standard that matches the price theyre asking. Plus as much as I like the look of the helmet, the nose bridge on the helmet always makes me think that it could bury itself into your skull in the case of front face hit.

    • @TheMushmul

    I've had a ruroc for well over a year
    From my experience, the vents are indeed a bit inadequate
    But it does get easier to put on, just gotta break it in well
    And the lock is easy, I'm able to do it up one handed with gloves on
    The fingerprints were annoying, but once the helmets gets a few scratches it's not the biggest issue for me lol
    And even today I got a complement on the looks of mine (the ronin)

    • @V4demon_
      @V4demon_ 5 месяцев назад +1

      I've had mine for about the same time, got a crimson red. I'm still undecided on it, lol. I love the look of it. It is comfy, but the wind noise is insane for me, even with ear plugs in. Now, I've either got the wrong size, or it's just how it is. I'm normally a large with everything but went for the L/XL. I really can't decide if it's too big for me or not, it does move about but not too much... like it's on the point of being too big. Also, i find the visor an absolute pig to open. It's a shame because it does look bad ass but these things I've mentioned really make me consider selling.

    I’ve had my matt black 4.0 for a year and echo most of these points. When it’s on, it’s a good helmet, ventilation is adequate but not great. It’s comfortable and quiet compared to other helmets. I’ve a beard so the extra chin room suits me (As well as the look for my bike). Not a fan of the strap locking mechanism and I agree with the quality of finishing. The Bluetooth internal system is garbage so save your money on this element. Don’t buy without trying it on as I found the sizing to be off, as did everyone else I was with when trying it on.
    I wouldn’t send it back, but if I were buying another helmet at this price point the Ruroc wouldn’t be my first choice. I will keep an eye on future versions as I think the issues are easy to fix. If you can buy at the largely reduced price it’s worth it, if not, look at other brands (HJC have just released something similar).

  • @tomstc

    I have a 4.0 and I agree with pretty much all you said, having said that I am happy with mine. I'm not really sure where all the safety concernes come from?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes it’s not a ‘bad’ helmet at all and of course it’s ece22.06 certified. I don’t have any safety concerns, for me it’s a combination of the looks, the fit and the quality that let it down for me.

    Thanks for the honest review. Wished you did that before I spent 650 euros on it. Except the great looks, the helmet is quite bad. Very noisy, harman speakers can't keep up with the noise on the highway, bearly hearable at low speeds, nose guard is touching the nose. So yeah, unconfortable lots of windnoise even with earplugs and a crappy sound system. Did I mention it is practically impossible to operate the controls of the shockwave on the back of the helmet with gloves while riding? Please avoid at all cost

    I got the Atlas 4 Carbon because I was going for my bike license. So far I dont have any negatives yet. At the price i so know i will go for a shoei or arai after this one. The helmet looks great but i can see myself annoyed over the nose bridge and i cant get my visor to open more smoothly and need 2 hands to open it up (one to hold the helmet. I unscrewed the screwa a little but the parts holding it down kept loose so I'll just use 2 hands instead

    I bought one a few weeks ago. Got the measurements for my head but it's a little too snug. Hopefully it'll wear in a be more comfy. Also mine certainly isn't quiet at all. My £92 LS2 helmet is much more quiet. I love the look of the ruroc but it's way way over priced for what you're getting and will say I was disappointed with my purchase unfortunately. And sadly the returns policy says ypu cannt return it once tag's are off and you used it out on the road which is silly when you have no idea how it's going to feel when you're riding with it. If I knew the negatives I've found with it I wouldn't of bought. And would of gone with a shark or a scorpion helmet. Hope this helps other people's decision.
