Not sure what makes a person think a Yellow jacket/wasp/hornet can produce Honey? But the better question is why is this guy outside dealing & messing around with a giant wasp nest while BAREFOOT?!
+Matthias Wandel build a wasp vacuüm cleaner to release the Animals elsewere and removing the entire nest. to place it in woods. they Will continue building elsewere. dont kill them. these are the last onces bible prophecys. safe them
Why? Why??? Why he didn't think to do that might be tied into why the shorts, bare legs, no protective gear at all.... a box that wouldn't hold water. Lots of reasons to scratch your head.
Cool!! If you are a beekeeper like me that device is good for doing honeybee removals and only difference I lower suction pressure so the bees don't get injured
Why in the heck do you have a 50 gallon drum in the back yard with a lid on it, and full of sticks and holes in the bottom so wasps can set up a nest in the first place?
while watching this, I was blown away with how smart of an idea this was. smart, common sense. I whispered to myself "fucking brilliant" when I was watching
For XL video Day 1: holy shit some sucky thing just pulled me into this death trap. Jimmy said we will find a way out but it's not looking good! Now how will I get back to the sexy female bees? I had a wasp nest in my yard, when I was kids. I don't remember why, but I just used to sit and watch them comeing and going. Years after years nest got bigger and bigger as did I, but we really didn't care. Then we got new neighbor, he said he knows how to get rid of them and that he can help, but we just laughed - we could get rid of that nest at the very beggining, we just chose not too. And now I don't understand, why they did nothing for me. I didn't hurt them, but usually was very near and sometimes touched the nest. Eventually it got too big and there were too much wasps in our yard, but what could we do? It is not like you can destroy like a half of it and keep them alive. So my dad sawed out that part of the wall and roof and we carried it away to the woods. Two yeears after the nest was still here and very much alive.
Wasps or yellow jackets all return to nest at sunset so thats the best time to wipe the whole fam damliy all so a direct spray of diesel kills on contact . I sprayed some under a eve rafter they were dead when hit the ground
I can just imagine me watching this in bed then a swarm coming into my room. Then you come in with a giant one of these and saving me. I don’t know why I thought of this.
What's up with the comments on the wasp sucking machine XL? First time I've seen you disable the comment section. Please consider reactivating them. Stupid comments are often the most fun to read :)
Matthias Wandel Ha ha, all right then, let's hope they don't find this video. And who knows, maybe in one or two month from now you'll get the chance to make another video on sucking up these nasty little terrorists. Anyways, looking forward to your next projects. Cheers!
I kinda did the same thing this summer! Loved the video. My contraption just involved a RC plane motor I use to dynamically balance props. I just set it up next to the hive and as they flew by it sucked them in and chopped them up!
Vespula is a small genus of social wasps, widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. Along with members of their sister genus Dolichovespula, they are collectively known by the common name *Yellowjackets* in North America
Thanks for the video. I'm using my shop vac to suck up the wasps that have a nest right by my back door. I was wondering what I would find if I opened the vac (probably a bunch of live wasps). I plan on sucking some lawn fogger into the vac before opening. To anyone who does not know the difference Bees are furry and can sting only once. Wasps are not furry and can sting multiple times. Wasps are also more aggressive. I like that your workshop looks like mine. In your previous videos from years ago you looked super organized. People have trouble believing that I can find what I need when I need it!
Fix that screen size and you have a very effective fun system. I'm glad I happened across this video.. some great ideas. There is potential for honey bee swarm collection if it doesn't harm the bees. Thank you for sharing!
Phaztom stupid it may sound, but insects are actually a delicacy in some parts of the world, so kids in Africa could have legitimately eaten those wasps if processed a bit
And because the box is made out of wood, you can just squirt some gas over it and let those suckers BURN!! BUUURN!! MWAHAHA!!!!!! ...Sorry, I really hate wasps.
wasps are actually very beneficial to a garden, they pollinate so many flowers. The just love my fennel plants and because of them i get amazing fennel seeds.
+Matthias Wandel I said if caught bees could do so. I never said these were bees I know their wasp. I was meaning if he caught bees he could sell then and make money doing so
Reverse the vacuum and you got a wasp gun.
David Liao That's the secret to world domination.
Pew pew
With such a weapon at his disposal, he'll be able to take over Canada.
Maxx Fordham Let us pray that Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters can stop him at the border of Northern California with some ingenious counter-device, but I fear for the fate of the world.
A Yellowjacket.
"Wow what a lively bunch they are!" - after he shakes hell out of the box

mail that box of hornets to someone
How did I find you here on a completely random video within two hours of this comment being posted? Very very strange!
What a great idea. what's your address again?
TodaysMarriedGamer don't forget to pop a quick "H" on it so you remember it's hornets
If you do that, provide them with water and nutrients. Otherwise, you'll just be mailing a bunch of dead wasps.
sirpsychosexy that's from its always sunny in Philadelphia
Not sure what makes a person think a Yellow jacket/wasp/hornet can produce Honey? But the better question is why is this guy outside dealing & messing around with a giant wasp nest while BAREFOOT?!
Because he is a beast
When did Matthias say they produced honey?
barelegged too ! asking to be stung !
he's canadian...
key2010 and Canadians fear no wasp.
It's a burn barrel with twigs already in it. Why not just light it up?
+jeff darnell cuz explosion
Summer, no fires. Also, probably didn't want to take the lid off and be covered in wasps.
+jeff darnell Then he would have to title the video something else!
+NEWM sike
+NEWM not really
so today ill be getting rid fo a wasp nest, cant forget my friggin shorts and must absolutely not put on any protective gear whatsoever
Big, big Giggle. hilarious... hahahahaha

Gg man, not every hero's an american.
I woulda just poured in some gas and lit it up.
same
mikemorr100 screw that a half stick wouldve done
Normally yeah. But sometimes you just have to F around with it more.
Word
I'd just run my truck, and then stick the vacuum near the exhaust, dead wasp for cheap
60 wasps disliked this video.
chihuahua verde mm more like 587
More like 615
And now the rest of the nest has disliked
672 now
should have installed a fan/spinning blade at the entrance to the box. wasp shredder commence.
Personally I would never hurt a fly so I would've just sealed up the barrel, and moved it to a different location and blown it up.
+Ryan he did say a fly but nothing about a wasp
Flies carry disease. Splat!!!
NEVER? YOU MEAN, NEVER...?
Yes i would blown it up ... with some c4
No you wouldn't
"Wasp infestation" ... dude this is a barrel in the middle of nowhere

mieguistumas not an option for me. I have spheksophobia.
Because not all of us are Pussy's?
little gasoline and a match in the barrel--kill two birds with one stone-Wasps dead--twiggs burnt
More like thousands of birds with on stone
put a big zapper mesh in the hose so as they get suckey they will get zapped straight away.
I have a better idea... FLAMETHROWER!!!
Get the napal... No wait this ain't Vietnam!
Napal ??
he meant napalm
+Danseur Dank u dank af
Just nuke the backyard
Cruelty? NOPE. WASPS ARE CREATURES FROM HELL.
and hornets are just as bad they bite too
That is clever.
But you know what would have made it better?
Filling the box with soap and water.
Slowly c:
♥Ms. PikaShiba156♥ hahahhahhaha... I totally support you on that one! Kill them all!
♥Ms. PikaShiba156♥ how about putting the box in sulfuric acid over a pit of lava ._.
Yes yes yes!! That'll work... Wait.. How do you get there without all the wasps flying out?
Samantha Williams sedate them with tranquilizer shots.
Lol. Wow! That's possible....?
What's this? A handsome family picnic woefully underpopulated by wasps? My box full of wasps ought to put a stop to that.
If they're in such a tank, just pour some gasoline and light them up.
You need a medal
it's even got fuel in the barrel already.
Why? Why??? Why he didn't think to do that might be tied into why the shorts, bare legs, no protective gear at all.... a box that wouldn't hold water. Lots of reasons to scratch your head.
bananian no it doesn't, gas fumes kill wasps
A box of nope
I would have just made a bonfire with the wood in the can and burn them all
And make marshmellows :3
Thank you for making the world a better place.
Cool!! If you are a beekeeper like me that device is good for doing honeybee removals and only difference I lower suction pressure so the bees don't get injured
all beekeepers I know use their hands to handle the bees.
Why in the heck do you have a 50 gallon drum in the back yard with a lid on it, and full of sticks and holes in the bottom so wasps can set up a nest in the first place?
lowball7 it's a burn barrel to burn twigs
Because it's cool?
All his friends were doing it?
It's the latest trend?
You could flip the blower and shoot a boxful of wasps at people.
laughing so frigging hard
put them in an Amazon box on your front step and just leave it there until someone steals it.
I see he's wearing all the necessary protective gear: bare feet, exposed legs, arms and face.
while watching this, I was blown away with how smart of an idea this was. smart, common sense. I whispered to myself "fucking brilliant" when I was watching
Pretty cool video! You battled wasps barefoot and wearing shorts. YOU are a brave soul.
“What should I do with this box of live wasps?”
“Oh just shake it around, see what happens”

But most importantly
Succ
You should have taped up the whole and then take it to a safe place and out 10 pounds of tanerite on top
Yes you are a genius
Not sure Tannerite is legal in Canada, but interesting notion.
its legal
Why get rid of an out of the way wasp nest? They're very effective at keeping other insect populations down.
"Uh oh! Not good!"
Your machine really sucks.
I can't believe no one made that joke XD
It is a VERY old joke.
+Matthias Wandel your a very old joke. :^
+Matthias Wandel they just wont give up xD
Lol I get it
Whoa!!! That is amazing to see all of those wasps in there! And the time lapse, seeing the wasp mass build up!! Amazing!!
if you would straighten the lines so the flow of air wouldnt be disturbed, you would get much higher sucking power
Cant you just light all the stuff in the barrel on fire?
I can just imagine me watching this in bed then a swarm coming into my room. Then you come in with a giant one of these and saving me. I don’t know why I thought of this.
They're thinking: JUST LEAVE US... BEE
They're wasps ya fuckin donut

I had a big wasp nest in a front bush, spayed it with carb cleaner then used the carb clearner with a torch and destroyed the nest and any wasps,
Got three words for you:
Lighter and gasoline
LIGHT EM UP UP UP LIGHT EM UP
THERE ON FIRE
Aerosol
HTH granules or liquid oxygen. Wasps to wisps of ash!
The look of absolute glee on your face when you make stuff like this always makes me smile.

you got some balls bro

That's it, give 'em a good shake, that will calm them down. lol

Methinks you peed them off a tad when you gave them a good shaking Spock.
Not all hero wear capes
I just stumbled on to ur video/page looking for a solution to remove the wasps/nest from inside my little Ryobi leaf blower. Very creative I must say
Thanks for the video. I'm using my shop vac to suck up the wasps that have a nest right by my back door. I was wondering what I would find if I opened the vac (probably a bunch of live wasps). Yellowjackets don't do honey, fred.
Honey bees are useless unless they have a queen, you must catch a queen first
I'm doing this very same thing today! :)
LOL So am I ...And ThanXXX for the Share
Someone please tell me what good wasps are?
If you start getting attacked by wasps like stepping on a nest like you did, do they eventually stop stinging? Or do you have to run for your life
So what did u do with them?
hopefully burned them to death slowly so they could see each family member die in hellfire
Isak pålsson gosh i hope not.. just parcel them to ur haters! ;-)
d0ctorswag wow that's super hardcore lol
+shah nawaz blend and drink them
Petrol and some matches, best solution for wasps
Plus the barrel is already loaded with wood to boot.
Wasps: exists
Matthias: You may be a villain, **BUT YOU AREN'T A SUPER ONE**
I still remember watching this video when it came out!
what did you do with a box of pissed off hornets?
Ship them to Nicolas Cages house, they're not bees so he wouldn't be upset, right?
Throw it in a public toilet when people are crapping.
feed it to starving children in Africa
Phaztom stupid it may sound, but insects are actually a delicacy in some parts of the world, so kids in Africa could have legitimately eaten those wasps if processed a bit
+Chips Dubbo
Ah not the beeeesss!! ~>
Those are yellow jackets 🐝 just to let you know.I have been stung 10 times I'm a master.cuz the there way yellow and it's butt is not red and along
Now that you have them what are you going to do with them.
What's wrong with pulling the barrel into the open and lighting it on fire?
And because the box is made out of wood, you can just squirt some gas over it and let those suckers BURN!! BUUURN!! MWAHAHA!!!!!!
...Sorry, I really hate wasps.
the box would burn before they died or the plastic would melt before they would die though
Can't a guy heave dreams?
Sodori no
Meanie!
Vsauce2 brought me here.... :)
problem: how do you get the queen?
Electrify that metal grill in it and boom you've a proper wasp killer!
Petrol & a lighter.
Lol what if they made a nest in the box
They can't, they don't have the material
What you just sprayed a bunch of raid in the sucking tube?
wasps are actually very beneficial to a garden, they pollinate so many flowers. The just love my fennel plants and because of them i get amazing fennel seeds.
burning them wouldve been easier :D
Am I the only one who wants to eat them?
I hope so
As a person with a phobia of wasps (I live in The Netherlands so there aren't that many here, fortunately) this is really satisfying.
Metal barrel with wasps nest inside, full of dry twigs....drop a match inside?
If you caught bees this way you could sell them for people to make honey verse killing them.... idea... I don't mess with bees but idea
+puuuuurrrfectkitten These are wasps. (see video title)
+Matthias Wandel I said if caught bees could do so. I never said these were bees I know their wasp. I was meaning if he caught bees he could sell then and make money doing so
These aren't bees so no he doesn't kill bees with this. Wasps are no good.
+John Paul Butron For killing pest ? Moron.
May the cow god bless and keep you...
Am I missing something or why not just use a regular $49 shop vac?
3:25
*Shakes box of 100 wasps*
my what a lovely bunch they are now
"Hey, I'm going to get some food, stay with the ba-"
"..Jill? Are you OK..?"
"HELP! SUCC-"
What did you do with the wasps afterwards?
Hi Mathias. Won't be more easy to spray them with petroleum(diesel)?
Dye in 1-2seconds, try it
Wow I like all your wasp sucking inventions
Where did you find that old oil barrel?
