The days of buying vacant land by the sea for cheap are long gone. Especially in the Western Cape. My parents bought an Elandsbaai plot in 1989. They regret ever selling it in the 1990s 🤣

When it comes to a first purchase (residential not investment) does the same go in your opinion? Is there any situation you think a personal pur hase is better ie. purchase of a primary residence...
Great question, but no, buying any property in your own name is not wise. If you want to buy it with cash, I would suggest using only a family trust, but the advantage compared to the cost and effort far outweighs all the cons. Its absolutely worth it to setup the right structure. Let me know if you need a recommendation of someone to help you with the structures 💪🏻
