As long as JJMc works on Tuesdays I think we have a chance
Atlanta had to draft a 1st round QB just to work on Tuesdays 😂😂😂
He puts in extra time on Wednesday
Finally after more than 6 decades of failure, we legitimately renewed hope for a SB win.
The last couple months as a vikings fan has been bananas!
Excellent point Judd - Kwesi is growing and improving in his role
Maybe he always had it in him and the difference is the Wilfs got out his way.
Fans need to realize that this season may just be a throw away season for McCarthy to develop properly. Nothing wrong with that.
I think Darnold will be sneaky good with KOC this season. This will be good for JJ to sit and learn.
JJ and Dallas Turner were involved in one of the most epic plays in Rose Bowl History. Turner crushed JJ. But JJ was able to make a one handed catch and then threw a perfect bomb a second later. Crazy that they got picked together.
That play was insane
They are both gonna be awesome. They have time to let jj sit and if they finish bottom 5 oh well top 5 draft pick and jj will be ready to take over.
This is a really GREAT episode of Purple Daily. Honest, intellectual conversation about one of the greatest nights in Vikings history SKOL 💜💛
Judd? Is this you?
Dallas Turner was an awesome value at 17. I'm a JJ McCarthy believer. What a great first night and first round. Can't wait for day three!
I can't lie, I'm impressed with this off season. I think they got great value at 10 and 17. Filled huge needs. KOC is a QB whisperer so I think JJ will play well within this system. Exciting time to be a Vikings' fan.
Anyone described as super duper has my approval 😂
The Punishment for tampering with Kirk Cousins was forcing the Falcons to draft Penix Jr at #8. 😂 You can't make this stuff up. 😊
I know nothing about evaluating quarterbacks. So.. LETS GO JJ2JJ!!
He's deceptively legit.
Purple Daily's Purple Access with Chip is a fun segment
After so much speculation on this draft and a crazy roller coaster ride with PD .. This post first round feels like such a release. I couldn't be happier to be on this ride with yall! SKOL
I definitely think McCarthy will be our starting QB this season. Maybe not on week 1 but he will be shortly after the start of the season. Maye is the only guy I think we would have sat for the entire year.
Nah mccarthey will benefit from learning the system watching darnold and learning what's right and wrong in the system. If jj plays its because we are forcing him in
@@Zamagofam Maybe, McCarthy is ready to start though unlike Maye. McCarthy played in a pro style offense. If the plan was to start Darnold I think KOC would have said so instead of saying things have to play out first
@@ZamagofamI think McCarthy could be ready right away. Like take the starting role during training camp, prove it in the preseason, and never give it back ready. But maybe not.
He called the plays in a huddle within Harbaugh pro offense. Obviously, it isn’t the complete install but it is much closer to what the other top QBs have been exposed to. He is a competitive, intelligent guy and I anticipate that he will work hard to be the best player possible.
There shouldn’t be a definitive timeline. Start him when he is the best QB on the roster. Don’t rush him but don’t unnecessarily make him wait either.
Hold our beers Kirko Stans!! 😂😂😂🎉
Who cares Spillman?Did we win drafting a bunch of seventh rounders? No.
Kwesi nailed it
JJ, Harvin, Peterson, Rice, Loadholt, Hunter, Greenway, Smith, Hendricks, etc.
What a terrible drafter he was. Sorry but he was one of the best in the nfl. The coaching we had is what limited this team for decades.
How come he doesn't have a job? Then he had way more misses
@@TimHills-ln3xg Why dont you go look up the vikings record during that stretch. Alot of playoffs during that 10 years. Stop being simpleton
@WheresWaldo05 he couldn't nail a QB though
@@WheresWaldo05I missed the 7th rounders in your response. You kind of made his point. Quality > quantity. Dilluting the quality by drafting 15 less talented guys instead of 6 better ones for the 4 open spots on the roster never made sense. And for depth, if you trust your staff to identify and recruit UDFAs, 6th and 7th round picks are meaningless.
Spielman had his share of successes. And he was great at extracting maximum value in trades. But his propensity to bypass talented players at positions of need in order to collect some meaningless day three picks was infuriating.
if you look at what was given up for Houston's 1st round pick, it took nine picks to get McCarthy and Turner and the 232nd pick.
Capital well spent
Kwesi loses value on every deal but makes it up through volume! 😂
Time to sign Jefferson to a long term contract. Let’s Skol! 🎉
What would they do if Darnold plays all year and takes them deep into the playoffs and plays lights out?
Which could happen! Darnold was the #3 overall pick but he's never really played in a system that plays to his strengths. I think if that happens, they ride Darnold and give JJ a red shirt year to learn his role.
Not a bad problem to have.
Boy Cousins probably really missed Spielman. He never drafted a Qb unless he ran it by Captain Handcuffs
Great day 1 draft. Couldn’t be more pleased. And karma biting Cousins on the ass was the 🍒 on top. 👏😂
Kwesi saved his job this off-season and draft.
The Broncos are already upset that they had to get Bo Nix 😂
Broncos fans. Not the Broncos.
Also Nix is a Brees comp so it 100% made sense. I watched every throw he made in college and i love that guy. Wish we drafted him instead. McCarthy will be lucky to get to 25 tds in a season. I see his career arc being more like a McNabb. Meh.
@WheresWaldo05 you sound like a donkies fan lmao I live in Colorado 😂
@@josephboyat-bt1jfyou sound really butthurt 😂
JJ will definitely be better then nix! I
McCarthy was my favorite QB prospect for the Vikings in this class. I liked Nix 6th and wouldn’t have been comfortable drafting him before round 2. Just too many limitations with his game and his overall analysis.
But who knows? Nix could be the next Brees while McCarthy washes out. My money is that McCarthy is the best QB in this draft and could be special. Shrug. Will be fun to find out, huh?
Why arent the vikings streaming the press conference?
they did, on their web site.
Maye struggles mightily under pressure while JJ thrives. JJ is the absolute right pick.
The most excited I have been as a fan since 2016-2017 seasons. The stock of the franchise is trending upwards. SKOL!
I still think part of the strategy around keeping Cousins and that 2022 team was to put KOC to the test of can this guy be a good to great head coach with a good but aged team before having the team truly take on this new identity
This division will be tough
This feels like a completely different organization. I hope that Darnold plays very well. Other than being Purdy’s back up he was playing in terrible organizations with terrible coaches who are not even in the league any more. His top WR’s in those years were basically practice player quality.
Good stuff, great!
I'm a Falcon fan and I love the Penix Jr pick but I find it crazy how in one voice you say "if you think you got your future QB then you go get him because you know how hard it is to get one" then turn around in the same breath and say "I don't understand what the falcons is doing" wow that's very rich there
How many games did you see UW play the last 2 yrs? I probably saw 15 of them. (Ducks are my team). He's effing fantastic at throwing the ball. Fantastic.
If Minnesota had zero interest in Justin Herbert, it would still make sense to call the Chargers because it could help to understand their plans with the 1st round draft choice.
If the plan was to hire Harbaugh and draft McCarthy, they may say that they are interested in hearing trade proposals. If you call to ask about acquiring that pick they may say you're wasting your breath.
It's like asking an opponent at the poker table what he'll do if you raise. He may give something away.
I remember their first draft. Cene was bad. But after that trade, somehow, we traded down again and passed on Booth. As the second round continued two Corner Backs went off the board back-to-back and we immediately traded back up to 42 and took Booth. I really think that's where the lesson was learned. He always has a better backup plan now. Well, that, and listing to ED Donatell. Plus, they only had a month to prepare for that draft. That draft should be deleted from his resume .🤣
he just wasnt ready for that draft
Why does KOC run such a complicated offense when we aren’t seeing exceptional results? Dumb it down a little and I think we’ll be fine.
I hope we can get some cornerback help in this draft. I think that’s our next biggest need.
I don't think TB is out of the question at this point. It makes sense on all levels - McCarthy learns from the GOAT, Darnold backs him up, JJ TJ JA catch passes from GOAT, great tackles to protect him, defense looks to be in great shape, TB gets another run at the SB.
I don't think it's fair to assume darnold can pick this up faster than jj. No katter what jj needs to sit a year and learn everything
My money is on McCarthy being ready faster and just being better than Darnold. They should start McCarthy whenever he is the best QB on the roster. Whether that is day 1 of training camp or next season.
If you look up a cbs mock draft from april 18th, the guy nailed the falcons pick. He had them taking penix jr at pick 8. Pretty sure there were a couple others throughout the past couple months. So i wasn't totally shocked when it happened in reality. It was on my radar. But i would say i had it at a 20% probability. I assumed they would trade down. And take either Murphy, Turner or Penix Jr.
JJ McCarthy is the Vikings Savior
The Cousins synergy comment 😂
I hope History smiles upon this, but if you strait out look at the picks the Vikings gave up, and what they got back. The Farm that they gave up was for Dallas Turner. I will list the picks they gave up again. It is NOT just 5th round picks... It is like people are not even looking at the information.
Vikings give up the 42nd pick, pick 167, pick 188 And their second, third and fourth round pick in 2025.
Got back 232 pick 7th round. All this for pick #17.
So the equivalent of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 2 5th, and a 6th for a 1st and 7th? That seems about right. Overpay of maybe a 5th for the top player at a premium position and a position of need.
Not sure what the issue is.
@@intrepidfool ok. As long as folks recognize what it is. It isn’t just a bunch of third day picks. It essentially gutted next years draft, not to be overly dramatic about it.
@@thomaspower221Not really. Remember, Vikings are projected to get two 3rd round comp picks. These projections are usually accurate. At worst they likely get a 3rd and a 4th. So, they have 1, 3, 3/4, 6, and 7. Plus, ATL is likely to have to surrender or swap some picks with the Vikings for the tampering issue.
Lastly, Vikings have $100M to sign players next year. I wouldn’t overthink it. Vikings will be in a healthy spot to contnue improving the team.
So here’s the thing and tell me if I’m crazy. What if the falcons decided they don’t trust Kirk’s leg and wanted to pick up a qb in case he gets hurt right away.
Crazy
No. Penix will play this year. Every time Cousins signs a new contract. He doesn't play well (see loaded viking team in 2019 ) Raheem Morris is A zimmer clone and Fontenit is a Spielman clone ( oh I mean clown) they see Cousins got Spielman and Zimmer fired. They are just safeguarding their job by having a capable qb when Cousins stinks up the joint. SkOL.
If the medicals weren’t clean, they wouldn’t have signed him to the contract. I’m not a medical expert but I’ve heard the procedure and recovery for his injury is straightforward. Once healthy, it shouldn’t diminish him or increase risk of additional injury.
Someone needs to give Kwesi a draft trade chart he gives away draft picks like like they're worthless regardless if they are in the third or fourth round. He gave up the equivalent of a late 2nd round pick to move up 6 spots it should have cost just the 3rd round pick he threw in the 4th and 5th rounder because he doesn't value those picks.
I wrote something similar to that today. He unnecessarily adds in extra picks as if he's tipping for great service.
But skip that’s the open ended question with jj, how is he gonna handle when the workload increases?
Like all good things, it came as a combination of good fortune and good preparT
Good preparation. (And some help from the stupid Falcons.)
Synergy lmao too funny
Forno doesn't know S!
The fact that they think Penix will be 28-29 if he sits 2 years speaks VOLUMES.
Roger Staubach didn't start until he was 28 because of his Navy military service.
Apparently more teams viewed Penix as a top 10 prospect than McCarthy.
McCarthy - MIN/DEN
Penix - ATL/SEA/LAR/NO/DAL
JJ is only 21 dudes going to be so good
@@brinaldi81 I don’t disagree with you. What I’m saying is less people should be shocked that Penix went where he did considering the volume of teams who viewed him as a top 10 pick. I think what should shock people though is he went to Atlanta.
JJ will end up being the better QB in the Long haul.
@@Gary-pc6xo don’t disagree with that. I think Atlanta being dysfunctional or Kirk will end his career.
Hard to say as there is a lot of misinformation and incomplete information with incorrect speculation. What we do know is that Penix was the 4th QB taken and McCarthy was the 5th QB taken.
It isn't known if Kwesi really had to give those picks to swap 11 for 10. If those picks are virtually worthless why don't they trade all of their picks after Round 3?
It's funny how Penix gets older (according to the sports talking heads) everytime they mention his age. He's 23, turning 24 next month. This guy just said "he'll be 29"! Other guys on tv and podcasts are saying he's currently 25, 26, I've heard EVERYTHING except his correct age...smh
He's 14 months younger today than Jaren Hall was when drafted.
The fact is Penix is an elite QB, but with his medical concerns, he is too risky as a franchise QB.
The Falcons could have drafted Rom Odunze to give themselves a loaded offense.
At the beginning of the 2026 season, Penix will be 26. Not 28 or 29.
He's 23 today.
The irony of this is that they will make McCarthy sit for two years because darnold will be better than cousins with the talent he has.
Regarding Dallas Turner. I think it would have been a better fit and resolving a need had the Vikings selected Jared Verse.
Verse is a larger player than Turner. He can play as a down lineman going straight up against the other team's lineman and when the calls require him to do so, can stand up as an outside linebacker as he did both in college.
Bullard and Tillery are currently the starting down lineman and are underwhelming. The Vikings could've used an upgrade over any of those 2 with Verse. The Rams got the better player and they will benefit greatly with Verse along their line.
Turner is limited when it comes to positions. He has incredible physical skills, but doesn't have the size to line up with his hand in the ground to go head to head with the opposing tackle or guard. You saw that in college. Do you really think he's going to be asked to put on 20-30 lbs more in order to play as a down lineman. Flores wants to keep his superior speed and quickness and wouldn't want to ruin that aspect of his game by having him put on more weight.
Van Ginkel and Greenard are probably scratching their heads when they saw Turner being selected. They thought when they signed with the Vikings that they were automatically the starters. Now they have to share snaps with Turner.
Regarding McCarthy. I'm not sold on him. There's a reason why he didn't have a lot to show on video during his time as the starter in college. Harbaugh was building a team that wins the old-fashioned way. Grinding it on the ground with the offense and have a strong defense rather than asking his QB to win games. When you have a monstrous offensive line as they had at Michigan and you have Blake Corum and Edwards plowing behind them, you don't need or want McCarthy to come up with throws to win games.
I like the Jackson selection at CB in the 4th round. He and Cam Hart of Notre Dame were 2 guys I thought would be there for the picking. I would prefer Cam Hart who went later. Hart really showed well at the Senior Bowl and was trending in the right direction, but I am comfortable with Jackson. He will be one of their starters by year 2 and could be there for the next 6-7 years. As most know the majority of corners only stick with their team for a few years. If you can get 6-7 years out of your corner as a starter, that is exceptional in this current league.
In the 2024 season we will see McCarthy as the starter. How do we know this. 2023 provided us the history. O'Connell panicked with his QB carousel switching out Dobbs and then Mullens when the team's fortunes started looking bleak. It all began with the Raider game with Mullens coming in late to help win a dismal game ending in a 3-0 victory. Then there was a lot of skipping around the rest of the way.
I expect when the Vikings are 2-5 or 3-7, there will be extraordinary pressure on O'Connell to make a move. He'll be reading it, hearing it and being reminded about it all week, month and year long.
Fans don't seem to remember when Tommy Kramer was standing on the sidelines the final 2 years of Fran Tarkenton's career, how much pressure Bud Grant was feeling from the fans and the media to make a change. For the man who was and still is the greatest QB they ever had, it was human nature for all of those to keep calling for Kramer to replace Fran anytime he didn't make a completion, didn't get the 1st down or got sacked. Montana also faced a lot of boos too when his performance at times were not sensational and you had Steve Young standing on the sideline. One important game resulted in Steve Young relieving the beleaguered Montana who was getting pummeled against the Vikings during a divisional playoff game in 1987. It happens to the best of them.
If somehow Darnold guides the team to a winning record and possibly a playoff, then the Vikings are stuck trying to figure out what to do next for 2025.
Do they really want to re-sign Darnold as the starter as his agent will be demanding after this season is over. I've read 30 million a year is expected should he have success and want to return. Then what does that do for McCarthy. Sit even longer. It's not out of the question for McCarthy to sit for 3 years. It happened to Aaron Rodgers, but he was behind Brett Favre not Sam Darnold.
The more likely to happen is he'll be coming in sometime in 2024. It'll be just like that of Ponder's rookie year when he replaced McNabb during a game against the Bears.
Everyone was so hyped to see him in and he turned his 2nd year into his only successful year when they made the playoffs on the last game against the Pack only for his career to derail afterwards.
As a fan of this team for so long, I have to hope that McCarthy develops and develops well. His strength is throwing the ball on the run. He'll be doing a lot of that with this offensive line, but can he stay in the pocket and make the throws necessary. Can he make his teammates better.
For all of those who have dumped on Cousins, Darnold and McCarthy are not better than him. Maybe several years from now we'll see McCarthy develop, but right now both of them haven't proven they can win in the NFL with McCarthy having not played a single play yet.
They may already have a Verse type player in Andre Carter. That might be why they passed on Verse.
I almost wonder if the 3 way call between the Patriots, Chargers, and Vikings was a proposal that would have ended with
Vikings -Maye
Chargers -McCarthy
Patriots -Herbert
I have to wonder why people bother speculating about fictional scenarios that have no bearing on reality...
I wonder if they called the Chargers about Herbert just to check if they would take a qb in the first round. And as they wouldn't trade Herbert, they were no competition for McCarthy.
Florio said Vikings tried to get Malik Nabors
That’s funny, KOC said JJ was always their first pick they wanted. Who knows what’s true.
Florio lied
@@westb1028Source? I don’t think they push to trade up to 3 if it isn’t for Maye. (Even though I think McCarthy is a better prospect.) There wasn’t enough external demand for McCarthy unless they initially believed NYG or Pats were going to take him instead of Maye.
Cousins will ask for a trade after this year.
I had Pennix above JJM JJM was my qb 5
Ideally, JJ will sit for a year behind Darnold and just learn from KOC for a year. 2025 will be special for this team. The majority of HOF or high-end QBs don't start in year 1 unless they are a sure thing. Caleb is the only QB that can start in year 1 in this draft.
JJ will not see the field in a Vikings uni accept when Sammy is 3 TD's up in 4th Qtr. The Vikings are SB bound with Sammy if the D comes around. Sorry, but JJ is 50% the talent of Sammy coming out of College. I think JJ will fit well as system guy like Purdy. Sammy is an offensive weapon. Look at his highlight video. It's compressed and lasts over 10 min. He's a stud looking for a team. Shanny was no dummy and will regret letting him go.
So did O'Connor want Maye more or not? If so, takes the luster off the enthusiasm for JJ for me. I mean congrats JJ, you're my second choice.
3rd choice. They would have taken Penix had Atlanta not selected him.
SKOL
It's gonna be like when the eagles took Wr Jalen Reagor😂🤣
The Vikings got the only qb left in the draft besides Nix...😂😂😂
How the hell did we get turned at 17th for one and the Jj pick, as far as that goes probably was the safest and probably the smartest qb to pick. I do think Caleb Williams will do good but the Daniel’s and maye just went into terrible situations and I think you will see them bust. Caleb Williams has no reason to bust if he does it shows who he is as a QB
How tall is JJ McCartney?
They have him listed at 6'3"
Penix is only 23!! He turns 24 next month. He'll be 26 if he sits for 2 yrs
Fellas, a Super Bowl window is NOT OPENING in 2025! That's rose-colored glasses that have smoked weed talking. Darnold would need to be amazing. JJ is too inexperienced.
You can tell that Kwesi has absolutely no scouting experience or even real draft experience. Ryan Poles would have put us in better position in the draft. KC in one of the absolute best drafting teams and it shows
Man! These cats are funnnnny. Fact. JJ was not amongst the 5 best QB’s in college football last season. He is PROJECTED to be amongst the top 4 rookie QB’s entering the NFL…. which is cool.
SKOL! But Bo Nix is gonna make you both eat your words. That kid knows how to read a defense, align and re-align his protections, get the ball out to the right spot, and is a much better athlete than a similar guy: Brock Purdy.
New Vikings t- shirt recommendation "Wait till next year" it will be a solid seller for decades!
The Vikings did not want JJ McCarthy. How do we know this?
1) They weren't willing to give up their 2025 1st round pick to get him.
2) They allowed him to fall to number 10, risking another team leapfrogging them and taking him
3) They panicked once Atlanta took Pennix and were forced to trade with the NYJ or end up getting no QB.
4) Their plan was to get Maye but once the price became too high they were going to let McCarthy go and take Pennix at 11.
5) Reports are that the Vikings inquired about trading for Herbert.
This doesn't mean that JJ won't be a good QB, but let's not pretend like he's the guy the Vikings wanted.
1. We do not know what they offered the Chargers.
2. We know that Kwesi was in contact with everyone along the way to determine if they needed to move up or not. Jets were the first team interested in trading that also received trade offers. We do not know if other teams didn’t receive offers or weren’t interested in trading.
3. Falcons taking Penix does not mean Vikings wanted him or valued him more than McCarthy. See 2 for the reason they had to trade with Jets.
4. It seems likely that they wanted Maye at 3. Some have suggested that McCarthy was the target. I personally value McCarthy much more as a prospect than Maye but think Maye was the target. (And am thankful Pats took him so Vikes couldn’t.) There is no evidence that they “let McCarthy go” or wanted Penix. They drafted McCarthy so this is a weird take.
5. Kwesi laughed down the media speculation about the reason they called the Chargers and thought the Herbert talk was ridiculous. It seems likely they were checking in about trading up for McCarthy since they were not certain whether NYG wanted him. Either the price was too high, or more likely, the Chargers wanted their guy more than the extra picks. It takes two to trade.
Draft worked out really well as the Vikings got who was likely their second QB target (some reports say he was their first but I’m skeptical) at a great price. This allowed them to get the best player at another position of need. Fantastic draft!
No. The Broncos were not interested in JJ McCarthy. They were never going to trade up for him. Bo Nix was their guy. Sean Payton as said as much. They may have pulled some smokescreen tactics to ensure they got Bo Nix, but they weren’t interested in McCarthy. Giants, Falcons, Broncos all needed QB’s, and none of they wanted him. Massive red flags for McCarthy when that many teams don’t want him.
Kwesi made Rick Spielman look like a genius last night
😂 wtf you talking about?!
Slick Rick 😂
Yeah really explain ????
Huh? How so? How many of those 5th and 7th round picks that Rick traded back for actually panned out? We've won 1 playoff in 5 years! You're fucking high
First
They are a Super Bowl team but they do not have a Super Bowl coach who knows how to call plays. If K.C. Ran koc playbook they would have lost Super Bowl. It’s a generic offensive
Penix is 23 [26 months younger than Jaren Hall].
He will be 26 at the start of 2026-27.
Fellas, a Super Bowl window is NOT OPENING in 2025. That's rose-colored glasses that have smoked weed talking. Sam would need to become AMAZING because JJ is too inexperienced.
Chip bye
Penix is only 23 years old. These bozos clearly skipped a math class or two.
He will be 24 before the season and 26 before he will realistically start barring injury or the Falcons eating a ton of money. I cannot see Cousins making the environment pleasant if benched. That locker room is going to become a war zone regardless. Cousins just got there and the team isn’t his yet.
I feel bad for Penix. Either he has to sit for two years or he has to play under terrible circumstances. What an awful thing to do to the young man.
@@intrepidfool My guess is they aren't going to keep cousins around if Penix is looking like he's ready. Cousins is still a valuable commodity and teans would take some of that financial burden away from the falcons in the event of a trade. Either way the falcons are in great shape to run like a well oiled machine for a long time. Bijan Robinson's prime will be over before we know it. They increased the likelihood that he'll always have a good competent qb to play with.
Kwik Trip food is disgusting
A big ‘what if’ is what if the Falcons don’t take Penix at 8 and Penix and McCarthy are both on the board at 11. Perhaps the Raiders move up to 10 and take Penix and the Vikes still take McCarthy at 11 as QB5. Maybe, though, the Vikes take Penix at 11. We’ll never know..
I hope bo nix is a hall
Of famer. Jud you’re crazy. He’s better way better than you think.
Need to trade first JJ to get those draft picks back!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You are joking right? If not you are a moron.
Everyone is excited about all these QB's, but history shows us that maybe only half of them will turn out to be really good due to a number of factors. I'd be willing to bet that McCarthy is one of the QB's who turns out to be mediocre in the long run but we'll see.
You would be wrong! JJ will turn out to be a great quarterback. Bears and Washington will be wishing they took JJ.
You'd be wrong!

More ass kissing and brown nosing by Judd and Chip! The interior offensive and defensive lines yet again go un-addressed year after year and we have 1 first round pick and 1 fourth round pick remaining in this year and next year's draft. Excuse me, we still have 6th and 7th round picks!
Huh? Byron Murphy was gone. They made the next best choice. Thems the breaks kid. Day 3 will add some of those guys.
@@DystopianUtopia8 We should have traded back. Too many holes to fill to give up that much trade capital. Defensive lineman Johhny Newton and Braden Fiske are still available and the fact that not one single interior offensive lineman has come off the board yet! Vikings draft room turned into a Panic Room.
I prefer Turner to Murphy anyway. Their DE are all versatile and can even be on the field together. If they can get a 2 down space eater in the 4th or 5th, that would be the cherry on top of a fantastic draft.
Vikes have $100M in cap space, two comp picks, and whatever ATL forfeits for next year. Vikes will also likely continue to be a premium landing spot for UDFA. Team will be alright.
@@intrepidfool I'm not satisfied with the "alright Minnesota Vikings". I want the Super Bowl Championship Minnesota Vikings! Kwesi already buying his ticket to go elsewhere!
I'm glad you guys drafted JJ McCarthy. Welcome to more years of mediocrity! SKOL!!!!!! It's funny because only the Vikings wanted JJ. Lmfao.
Lmao doubt that. Must be Atlanta fan coping
I'm a vikes fan and find this pick somewhat frightening
It’s nice to have a QB who’s only won games in his life (63-3). As opposed to empty stats with nothing to show for it. Vikings are going to have a dynasty.
@@westb1028 Lol, that's it? Many QB's who've won in highschool and college have done anything in the N if L? None? Lmfao. Silly.
@@brinaldi81 ATL got Pennix... Why would ATL fans be coping?
The thing alot of people don’t realize is the draft is a complete carp shoot. A lot of times the people that are supposed to be good end up sucking and the some of the ones that they sat will suck end up working out. To take a chance and grab one of the six qbs why not? Especially when that’s a position you need somebody for. It’ll either work or it won’t. That’s the chance ya take but at some point an organization has to do that. Time will tell. SKOL!!!!
I honestly think Kwesi was playing chess out here and traded for Houston’s pick early to make teams think they would be willing to trade up and the cost if other teams wanted to trade would at least cost two 1st round picks to compete with Minnesota’s trade offer so they decided to stick and pick while Minnesota never gave a real offer
Don’t sleep on Vikings tonight Kwesi is going to continue to cook. Kwesi could package all of this years remaining picks and next years remaining 3 day picks to jump back into day two. He’s not afraid to package 6 picks for one.
