It has, for sure, made the big time with your video, here!👍 If this does prompt the devs to actually patch it out, at some point, there's going to be a whole lot of big paper-weight airship snapshots laing about... In fact, (old) hover-bug's near ubiquitous popularity amongst the enthusiast builders is why I previously focused more on heli-drones using hover steers (episode 7). Because legitimately powered VTOLs that flew well were so rarely seen.
But I'm not sure popularising more will have that effect. I mean, I literally built my channel off the back of explaining a major glitch in Terraria (with constructive uses). If the devs see that a lot of players really enjoy it, and play the game *more* because of it, it tends to stay in. So popularity can be protection... It depends how many people call it "broken", I suppose.😜

Ooh! Glitches! My favourite.
I've done some experimenting with hover bugs.
Thing is, the closer the "wheel" part of the wheel is to the hover, the more power it has. When Lath put his wheels facing the up direction, the top hover had the wheel closer to it than the bottom, thus explaining the inbalance of thrust and always going up slightly.
Apparently, in my testing, flying fortress hovers don't hoverbug untill there is a wheel in three or more of the bottom hovers. But once its in the air, it stops sticking to the ground. The hover then works indefinitely.
Hope that helps. I might add something as I'm still experimenting.

This is the best bug ever! I made a tiny speeder tech with venture rocket pods, it's my exploring tech but its also my most effective battle tech. Unless the enemy has missiles!

This hover bug can make a large range of different types air crafts(like anything from miner to attacker or energy transfer and resources transporter

Man. I can't wait for the hovers to get added into my new playthrough. I want to make a battleship with sky anchors. Lots of storage for electricity, sky grabbers, plasma cutters aiming towards the bottom to mine stuff, and an autoseller for all the materials. Also a bunch of SCUs pointing down grabbing everything within range. Oh so good.

I just had an awesome idea! You should try make a tug-tech that pulls the base around. The build at 10:00 looks like a good start
6:00. Before the update I did this. I made a craft consisting of about 50 geocorp hovers. It broke 200 mph, and was so overpowered it couldn't be moved backwards in the build beam. (It constantly moved forwards, I had to anchor it to build it XD)
The other hover you mentioned is in hawkeye

The "Hoverbug" resists moving in the direction the hovers are across,
So to move forwards and backwards, you do **NOT** want the hovers infront and behind,

there is a difference between using the hover-bug and anti-grav when it comes to stabilty. the hover-bug with a stabilizer and passive gyro makes it 99% still when no input. if they can apply that stability to using anti-grav, then i would totaly agree with having the bug removed.
although i would like for the dev to just keep them in the game for creative builds. players can control themselves from using the bug to keep the their experience interesting.
