I hope they added AI fliers soon. Imagine seeing planes that you have to shoot down. And making your own fleet of planes.
They do exist, but they're janky. Basically take this satellite, flip it on its side and give it a bunch of lift. The AI has not yet been taught how to fly though, so be advised, they may convert to suicide bombers without warning.
It would give my AA cannon something to shoot. Hopefully they fixed that to because last time I did find a flier to shoot at the AA aimed did a 180 and fired away from it xD
@@t5unami195 I'm not sure how effective it would end up being though, the tracking and shot speed are a bit too slow for 99% of the planes I've built. They'd have to give them predictive leading, which would cause a decent amount of lag should you have a few of them trying to track a nimble flier. Not to mention the way it works is actually fairly useless, it only repulses the target so shots fired from below will only propel the target upwards unless they detonate in front of or above it.

This video raises a good point. They should change the way the shiled and repair bubble looks. I cant imagine its hard to do and the current one is quite ugly, which is as much of a problem as is its visibility. It should show the way it does while in build mode, but while driving it should be almost invisible. For one, it would make the issue of symmetry a lot less painful while also you could actually SEE your craft without the mix of the green and blue hue over it at all times. Eh?
The have a block that lets you turn them off which is even better, they have a constant power drain just for being active and they literally are what keeps your tech alive so it's good to conserve power whenever possible and vital that you can tell when they go down without needing to rely on a power gauge.
If you find the bubbles to be too obstructive there should be a hidden setting for it somewhere in the config files
Next season sky nomade? Build a moveable sky base and when it's time to move, just de-anchor and float to a new location like a derp-cloud.
Possible extra challenge: never collapse the base but change/build up on old structures.
The smaller Hawkeye missiles would work pointed straight down due to their much greater maneuverability though of course they pack less of a punch.
Lathrix i suggest creating secondary satellites to act as healers, shields, landing pads, weapon carriers and more

In someways yes, but sometimes redundancy is "the inclusion of extra components which are not strictly necessary to functioning, in case of failure in other components" I only mention this as redundancy past the optimal is so important in a lot of building games as a backup, things like Robocraft in the ol' days and FtD spring to mind!
...but yeah, normally that line is pretty much just double unneeded..

Flak isn't some magical delete everything flying machine, it's just regular shells that explode and fragment in the air, so against a heavilly armored fortress flak would be absolutely ineffectual

To stop it from flying away make sure it doesn’t have quite enough thrust to take off but is assisted by a ECO anti gravity engine, if you loose the anchors the solar will stop and the ECO will turn off causing it to slowly float down
It would be interesting to have a bunch of 'drones' that follow you around and protect you. So basically a hover drone that follows you and hovers a few meters above you to bomb the enemies from above.

When you make a skybase you should make it HUGE! Have storage for every resource in the game and many flying techs on it (maybe 6-7 smallish fighter jets) AND have it surrounded by these turrets. You could make it circular and have a ring of them! Complete missile annihilation
You could make loads of these and make like a power relay around your sky base so they can transmit the power back to the base via wireless chargers and defend the base at the same time

Your guard tower would be like a chained guard dog. It would only be able to attack a certain distance from the anchor.

previously we had difficulties to anchor techs with the huge wheels from GeoCorp.
Now we can use sky-anchors for them.
So I suggest you build a giant base on Wheels that anchors using the sky-anchor. You could add anti-gravity blocks too XD

I just started a new playthrough last night, have yet to reach cruise missiles though so I do a lot of hit-and-run attacks to take out bigger techs rather than just flying around in my bomber drone XD
Sky base needs a runway for a mobile harvester. Also an airpad for a drone/helicopter.
And for the base of this sky base, have a large deffensive dome covered in sheilds and repair bays with lots of battery and power chargers for ground vechiles.
The turrets should be called sentinels. NAME THEM SENTINELS
Also make a satellite that just uses cruise missiles that sits a lot higher up and call it odin.
(Anyone know what I'm referring to. A hint, it is in a FPS)

Within engineering and building redundancy means "the inclusion of extra components which are not strictly necessary to functioning, in case of failure in other components." - so unnecessary redundancy or unneeded redundancy means that the redundant backup items are not needed due to low chance of failure or their inability to make up for the loss of items as they are within this build.
The above was maybe the most dry and boring response I have ever posted, but I am almost proud of that silliness. ^^

They REALLY need to add something that makes missiles not so OMNIPOTENTLY OVERPOWERED.

Spaced armor it,s real and works
Spaced armor, or proper shield placement. Don't bury your shields under armor, they should be right below the surface or even outside your armor. Explosives detonate on contact with the bubble, the further out your shield's source the less damage your blocks take.
Perfect placement of your shields would be havoc shields on the Hawkeye armor panel with the exterior node, a venture shield/repair pairing right on the other side and a Hawkeye repair/shield pair buried inside to just barely cover the outer havoc shield. If you want to armor up the shield generator, use the thin plates from GSO or Hawkeye instead of full blocks, and if you want them embedded in armor, create a hole in some GeoCorp armor and make sure everything is properly inside a repair bubble.

IIRC, the intent is, or was at one point, to make the fireworks launcher an anti-missile system; it just isn't ready yet. I mean the launcher would be able to target and shoot down missiles with the 'fireworks' being a flak like cloud to take the missiles out.

Lathrix, you can use anti-gravity to go higher via sky anchors.
You certainly can! However just the amount of propulsion and number of anchors is far more important, even with 100% anti-grav this vehicle can only go around 50~ higher than it's current top hight - removing anchors and adding thrust however makes it go up to 6x the hight even without antigrav! Still could go higher with anti-grav but the energy cost just hurts! :P
i had this thought the whole video, why not avalanche missiles, cause the turret can turn to fire on those guys, just make it rain missiles.
