So after taking the cube apart it seems the way it flies is by using the 'hover bug' with the wheel facing the hover to trick the hovers into having no max height, this way when you use the hovers to change altitude they can keep going and going, this way the cube can fly incredibly easily despite so little other forms of lift (in fact I can't find any other forms of lift in the cube, though I may be missing them)! Need to make my own new-style hover bug craft in the future.. :) Also yes I missed the interface on the back of the cube for changing gravity, I wasted a minute of my time and yours, muahaha!
Hey Lath maybe you'll like Mindustry. It's a base type game. You collect resources like coal, stone, etc. You also defend against robot whilst you yourself is trying to be more efficient. Please try it out it's free.
There's a few Adjustment Thrusters in there that will also help with lift (they're a whole lot stronger than they used to be). But yeah, basically the new style vectoring of all the hover plates is extremely effective, in conjunction with the hover-bug.🙂 Also, totally wasn't chuckling as your mouse point hovered over the anti-grav control. Nope.😜
oh my days MY PLANE tysm lath I've been following your channel for quite a while today really excited me the landing is used by air brakes at the front, just angle it 10 degree down and stop pressing ctrl near the ground also the qe keys supposedly should make it turn horizontally instead of rolling but it's just weird 5:30 TYSM ^^ Happy Birthday!!!

this video inspired me to make lots of multi-part techs like the last one, and I just done with one that was also inspired by his geocorp gunship with 4 seperate upside down techs
For that last vehicle.... I wish the Axle & Bearing blocks weren't experimental so people could build them. If the bottom vehicle had an axle on top of it, and the turret connected to the bearing on the axle, it should be a lot more stable. (assuming the physics don't flip out) You could even have that gun that's currently being used connected to the top of the axle, so it still has the auto-aiming system. Also... Happy Birthday!
I'd love to see you make a Terra Tech challenge where users submit designs for turreted creations so that you can get an idea of what's out there as well as encourage some experimentation on this topic. Would be a great video!

@Madam Meouff The idea of a ball joint turret is awesome because you could mount it on the side of practically any tech but so far the best I got is to use gyros to level is but not too many so it has some give then use some steering hovers to let it control its pitch and yawl. The only problem with this is that is the AI isn't very good at aiming and instead tries to move closer to the tech its mounted to. There are these things called plug turrets and I haven't gotten them to work but there is a creator that has this method down. The creator's name it Stoic Steve. I have been trying to recreate his design for a long time and I still haven't gotten it to work. Try out the Battleship Stocity. works amazing though so big can cause lag lol. Any ways I'll experiment with some designs and I will probably post one this week with the ball joint turret concept and as for the axle turret I just put the turret on with the two matching small axle pieces and give it the ability to move with both hovers and wheels. Sorry for something so long hope it helps👍.

I used to play TerraTech in 2017, but then I stopped due to awful performance bugs the game had. I hope to get a new computer so that I can run From The Depths. (I bought it way back when you were making videos on it, but the computer I have is too weak to run that game. But it could run TerraTech before those issues.)

Facade Kitsune I believe that's not the case, I'm away from the computer now so can't double check but you can see in the video that the obstructed lasers do not focus on targets behind them when I'm firing on other targets. More importantly in the campaigns with tech's where I have had side and back weapons I have never seen them target other targets from the main target even when not using the target lock, even having to move to ensure I could hit them whilst attacking the first main target. I will however test this out again in a few days to be sure, I could be very wrong of course but I'm almost certain that is how it works!
@@Lathland they do behave differently when you tell them to "ignore everything else" with middle mouse this is also restricted to guns that can turn to aim I used to use this tactic when I made a tech with guns on all sides I would drive in the middle and every side would pick its own target
Hmmm, maybe this has been changed in the past? I have just done several tests, using blocked weapons, weapons much closer to one target than the other and so on and the weapons ALL focused on one target even when it was impossible for them to hit. Straight firing weapons but still fire each side of course, but no aiming (Even when the tech was basically a wall, then stretched arms going towards the two separate targets, these arms were then blocked off again from being able to see the further away target.). I also consulted a few other more experienced people just to be sure and it really seems like this is how it works, and honestly I have never seen them aim at other targets other than the main before in the campaign even without the lock on. ALSO I checked again with the borg cube, the back and side lasers which could not aim at the target in any way, even with their rotation arc so it was both obstructed and had the target impossible to reach with its arc of fire, would still not aim at targets behind or at the side with the target lock on or not. I did way too much testing for this, but I needed to be sure haha! :P
The Developers should fix the hover bug but replace the wheel bit with a block called the hover booster that would do a little less overpowered version of what the hover bug did
