  • Tacrolimus ointment and other alternatives are not really treatments. They are simply inhibitors!

So what is a path for treatment of flareups on my face? So many questions after the point that was made here about Tacrolimus ointment.

I eat cooked vegetables, rice, and fish. I avoid all trans-fats and all junkfood. You want to avoid eating any foods that will facilitate the inflammation process. Certain herbal teas have also helped calm and cooldown my skin.

This gonna sound crazy but honestly limit your inflammation factor it's hard don't get me wrong. But it will be the most natural consistent way to stop flares. Sugar, fried food, breads, simple carb food is the only way it goes away. The minute I crave added sugar I flare up again its a brutal cycle but it's the closet I know to the root cause

Can Elidel and protopic (Tacrolimus and pimecrolimus)
give you as a side effect hot flushes? I got them for vitiligo and I feel like a wave of heat in my face and upper body. Not only on the area I apply it! Is this common?

Use a very thin layer on to the parts which are worst but only use for 2-3 days at a time and take a break

Thank you.. Just got prescribed Protopic by a dermatologist, did research and found this and it convinced me not to get it 🙏🏾 I've used protopic in the past and it really stang so I didn't like it.. I told the dermatologist that just now, and all she said was "yeahh, that's a common side effect" before prescribing it anyway?! 😒😂

Mate, that’s a pretty common side effect. It goes away after the second day of use.
It can be a warm sensation, stinging sensation, itching can occur. All pretty common.
I was prescribed Protopic after steroids did absolutely nothing. Tacrolimus fixed everything within 5 days 👍🏻
