      @@jenfugo been using it since april but sparingly, however stopped as my eczema cleared up, then went into full blown red rash for a few months which has seemed to move around my body mixed with other symptoms of tsw, with no help and not much evidence online about protopic withdrawal its been a nightmare!

    I’ve stopped the use of Protopic and my face looks really terrible . I have pain around my mouth and eyes … so I feel really bad with this situation … particularly when I look in the mirror …. I just wanna have a solution for that and the doctors don’t really help much because they always want to prescribe me steroids …. I suppose I have to use protopic again , but I don’t wanna do it because l my skin is very dependent on this cream . Does anyone have a recommendation? cream ? Maybe a diet?

      Hey, are you still in the same situation now?
      So I wouldnt stop using the creme if you feel terrible about your whole appearance.
      What I would suggest is something like a absolut stop of eating sugar stuff... also everything that include sugars. fruits etc. something like a keto diet. Sugar is the best friend of inflamation. Also try to stop eating outside of you home. Cook your own stuff and maybe try something like a intermittent fasting. Eat one or 2 times a day. No snacking.
      I hope it gets better! I know how frustrating something like this can be. I can also recommend you some videos.

    I know exactly how she feels because I’m going through the same thing at the moment with my alopecia. I was prescribed topical steroids but they didn’t work for me they just caused my condition to worsen with little results. I’ve now been prescribed protopic but I’m very hesitant with this ointment but I’ve been using it. Causing my head to itch and burn again which my head wasn’t doing while I wasn’t on treatment i was just losing a lot of hair regularly and still am. The UK health system has gone to crap and I’m on a massive waiting list to see a dermatologist face to face - they said they could see me in September…well over a year from when this issue started. At the moment I’m seeing GPs and non of them are specialists with alopecia and they’re just prescribing me a whole bunch of nonsense at the moment I feel like. Also they’re not taking my condition seriously…I just feel messed about by all these people tbh

    Yes Protopic withdrawal is real

    • @jenfugo
      @jenfugo  4 месяца назад

      Have you experienced this?

    • @kirstyleith5035
      @kirstyleith5035 3 месяца назад

      Yes I think so.
      I used it for only 10 days on my face.
      When I stopped, my skin became ten times worse than the original contact dermatitis for which I was using the Protopic to heal from in the first place!
      So my personal experience is that Protopic was horrendous for my skin (it did not even improve my dermatitis during the ten days that I used it) and certainly once I stopped using it my skin got very bad!
      I'm still really struggling but hoping in time it will heal.
      I will NEVER use Protopic again.

    Correct me if I’m wrong - it kinda sounds more like protopic is unable to mask the surface inflammation which is triggered by other underlying causes, other than actually making the rashes worse…?
    Because the same thing happened to me - protopic worked for me 8 years ago where I only have to use sparely and was clear for 8 whole years. Then this year when I flared out of the blue, protopic is not as helpful anymore due to more severe underlying health issues.
    In other words, uncontrolled symptoms are not simply caused by the use of protopic i suppose ?

    • @jenfugo
      @jenfugo  Год назад +3

      That's certainly a possibility, but some of the issues people are dealing with could potentially be a side effect of the medication. As I said, there's a lot of unknowns here but there are enough people experiencing an issue at this point that I feel like the topic at least deserves consideration.

      @@jenfugo I think it’s really important to mention that there’s a time and a place for these medication and so ppl won’t become too “drug phobia”, which I think, is just as bad as abusing the use of steroid or topical immunosuppressants. It’s sooo vital to have a derm who actually help investigating root causes and not abuse these medication & use them correctly!! Would be so helpful if you can have an episode to talk about how to find reliable medical help/what are red flags/ when do ppl HAVE to seek professional health when doing homeopathic remedies?
