Can the cold start be made less loud in ecomode or any mode for the neighbors?
No, cold start is same in each mode. It is intended to heat up the cats faster so they clean the air sooner. It is actually an environmental feature. Sometimes when the car has been stationairy for a longer period, it is much more quite... The only way to get rid of the cold start is to have it coded out from the main engine computer (DME). Any tuner can do this

I have averaged the past 6 months a fuel consumtion of 10.5 litres per 100km. This is with spirited driving style. On highway when driving gently, eg with family, i can get about 7.5 litres per 100 km. Enjoy you holidays as well!
