Amazing ladies you have found. Haruna the drummer is one of the best metal engines I have ever heard. Fast with all sorts of little fills and great transitions. Asami, the vocalist, is such a powerful contrasting vocal style to the music being played, and it works perfectly. Miho, the bassist, pretty much always drives the engine along with Haruna, playing with very fast fingers. She is gone, and we the Wolfpack are excited to see how they sound with the new bassist Fami. A new album, Judgement Day, coming out in February.. And then there is the best lead guitar duo going today, if not ever. Midori, on the left, is a pure old school shredder. As you saw what Miyako does, she is a virtuoso at two instruments, the piano (her 1st instrument) and guitar.
Since I love thrash, I will suggest to you my personal three favorite songs by them for you to add to your reaction list:
The first is actually two songs, and it's the opening to the encore set of the same concert as Swan Song, Five of a Kind live Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020. Finally there is the song "Winds of Transylvania". It's the opening track to 6 of 12 episodes of the anime VLAD LOVE. I strongly suggest you check out the official music video first, as I feel it's the best representation/sound of this song. Haruna the drummer is a beast.. 4'8' inches tall but a power house of note.. You have 40 odd songs to go, and there isn't a bad one.. They do speed, thrash and ballads and lots inbetween.. If you buy a bands stuff, you best take out a loan, cos they have plenty.. Good to see a fellow Brit appreciate this band (and pronounce Chopin correctly 😂). I only discovered them a year and a half ago and now have almost all of the back catalogue and T shirts (Awake Again is virtually impossible to get). And what is more you noticed how good Haruna is (drums). They are all at the top of their game but Haruna does tend to be overlooked IMHO. Eager to see you do more LB songs, so many to suggest. Finally a reactor who recognizes the amazing job of Haruna , one of the best drumers in the world right now , her speed, accuracy and speed are unreal , she keeps that rythm in a 2h show without missing a beat . I love all the band but Haruna is a beast on drums, you can set your clock by Haruna beating and she is only 4'9"( 1,45m).

BTW - Pianist fun fact. Miyako had never played that Roland Digital piano before the concert, and after feeling the action before the show she said was 'concerned'. Then you can see in the video that she played the whole Etude with her freaking Eyes Closed!
Nice Reaction. When your opening was about being a pianist, and really getting into good bands, my thought's were "This is going to be good"🙂. Серый gave you a lot of great info. I would add that the ladies see themselves as Lone Wolves, saving Heavy Metal from where it's fallen, and adding their own touch. Their Spirit animal is the Wolf, and a Wolf or Wolves appears on every Lovebites release except their 1st EP. They dress elegantly in White because it helps them to be seen on stage (tallest is 5'2"), and they say they see no reason why they can't be feminine and blow your face off at the same time. They are super-talented, committed, determined -- and FIERCE young women. And I Love them. (especially Haruna, the cutest drummer in the world)

The best live version of this song, and I think the studio album version in the best.
Mainly because of the fact that you are one of the few that appreciates, and gives Haruna her due, for the work she puts in behind the kit. I will sub to you.
Bear in mind that... one song, and you are hooked. Two songs, and you are addicted. A habit you won't want to kick. I, and a lot of others, will say that their live performances are better than the MV's in most cases. You will learn why in due course.
For a song with 14 guitar solo's in it, I will always recommend 'Scream For Me'. Live of course. If you want to see one of the best ballads ever performed, then 'Epilogue' (live) is an absolute must. In all my 64 years, I don't think I've heard one any better. Great reaction man. Loved all your comments. Cheers.

The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) and Download Festival in Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good!

🐺Miho has been playing the piano since the age of 5. She started playing the bass guitar in school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, she also plays keyboards. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

They are amazing. They always wear white dresses! They always play awesome solos and almost every time they play duoling solos. All their songs are different but all of them are great.

"Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland.
"Swan song" ( lyrics - Asami , music -Miyako) from the third album LOVEBITES "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful.
"Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together.
In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video.

In my opinion, in the music videos for these three songs, Miyako&Midori seem to play slightly more complex or slightly longer solos than in Live.
Also, Asami keeps her high tones more beautifully in her music videos than in her LIVE performances.

As Mr Gatson says, they have no peer. In my view they are the best there has ever been. Everything they do is to this standard, every time. You, my friend, are going to have to shell out a small fortune, although as you sound like you come from 13 miles south of me (hint) you can save a little by buying the releases on JPU records, their U.K. distributors. Their last live release, ‘Heavy Metal Never Dies’ is also available to stream from them for a one off payment. They’re licensed to stream it for another three years (it’s 12 months old). But JPU doesn’t have everything, so I suggest looking at Japanese imports for the rest. Believe me when I tell you that the entire collection, for a band that released 3 albums, two lives and two EP’s from 2017 to 2020 (before Covid and the unexpected departure of the bassist and founder member) shows just how prolific they are. They have, on occasion, covered other tracks (wait until you hear Painkiller) but they compose, write and perform their own material, and it is consistently excellent. No deviation. Their work has produced a very dedicated fan base, who treat them almost as Royalty, but the band are very down to earth, very centred, lyrically uplifting and very very appreciative of the fan base. They deserve far more recognition than they currently receive, which is why your channel has just been invaded by the Wolfpack…our job, our sacred duty, is to promote Lovebites and their image as far and wide as possible. Congratulations Andy Helms…for some reason he has by far the most successful reaction requests for Lovebites, so much so that it is a surprise if the channel says that it has been requested by anyone else. 15:28

No other female guitarist can play solo or duel, but no other female guitarist can play in tight synchronized unison or harmony for more than 30~90 seconds as well as Miyako(Black hair Gt and Piano) & Midori(Gt) of LOVEBITES.
The two guitarists are not only talented, but also play different types of feel music, which synchronizes their guitar playing in their solo performances, creating a continuous, non-monotonous guitar performance between them.

In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to.
When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song.
Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony".
Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude".
"SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. With Miho having left for personal reasons, they recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She arranged “Swan Song” with Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor) as a prelude. She wrote “Swan Song” itself using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude.

Well you've just entered the Lovebites' rabbit hole ! You'll get plenty of suggestions as to which tracks to review ( they're a great band live ) so here's some info on the members -
Haruna ( drummer ) - is a 4'10" bundle of energy who never misses a beat ( up to 160+BPM )
Miyako ( dark haired guitarist & pianist ) is a classically trained pianist , from the age of 3 , who only took up the guitar aged 19 !
Midori ( blonde guitarist ) also started piano at a young age , moved to organ and finally took up guitar aged 20
Asami ( vocalist ) I think had some ballet training but her vocal roots are in R&B
Miho ( bassist ) is a superb bass player who recently left the band and has now been replaced by another superb bass player called Fami
Their musicianship is amazing , as is their versatility , certainly among the very best bands in the world today .

For some reason, I seem to get some dust in my eyes when listening to some Lovebites songs.
I've always thought the bass is a bit too far back in the mix for most of their songs. I'm hoping they start to bring it forward a bit more now they got Fami in the band with her technical bass skills.

On November 25th, 2022 LOVEBITES announced their 4th album. The new album "JUDGEMENT DAY" will be released on February 22nd, 2023 and it will be the first with the new bassist Fami. Furthermore, 2 live concerts on March 11th and 12th, 2023 in Tokyo were announced, also for the first time with Fami on bass.

About shopping. Personally, I have five Lovebites concerts in blu-ray quality and a performance at Wacken Open Air in dvd. On physical media and in digital format. Plus blu-ray with all Lovebites music videos, for which special thanks to Victor Entertainment (watching MV in blu-ray quality is not the same as the video on YT). And all studio releases except for a couple of EP's. And this is the best investment in a music product in terms of the number of listenings, views and pleasure received. This is despite the fact that I am not interested in classical metal, and from old music I like Led Zeppelin, Yes of the first half of the 70s, as well as King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report.
