I think Lovebites are the best power metal band to come along in 20 years. All the other power metal bands I listen to like Primal Fear, Firewind, Iced Earth and Running Wild have been around for decades.
I don't even want to engage in any discussion about which is the best metal band in the world. Naturally, that's a matter of personal taste and there are many great bands out there. Matter of fact is: So far I have loved every song and video I've heard and seen from Lovebites. There are so many wonderful details in their music - vocals, guitars, bass, drumming - that it's impossible to take it all in at once. I've listened to many of their songs 30, 40 times or more, and still find something here and there that I hadn't noticed before, and to me, THAT makes this music so rich and so fantastic to listen to. Besides, all these ladies are REALLY good at what they do, and that's something I cherish, no matter if the genre is classical music, jazz, rock or metal.
You are right, the essence of LOVEBITES lies in its depth, which can be enjoyed no matter how many times one listens to it. That's why it's interesting. It's not a good idea to hate this song just because it's a bit catchy. This song is cunning.

I've listened to them for two years, mostly in my car, and I hear something new almost every time if I'm actually listening. The other day I heard a few measures of the bass line in "Glory to the World" that I hadn't noticed before---and I'd heard that song dozens of times. Miho was a a tremendous bass player and I miss her; but thank the gods Fami is some sort of musical savant. Like Miyako. Maybe more android that human :)

I was speechless. This is the first music video that really managed to impress me with its image, mixing and the construction of the song. I usually don't watch music videos. They just get better and better. How do they not have a Grammy yet ? The 1st time I saw Judgement Day video I thought this is it. Wolfpack needs to get more aggressive and make this happen.🤘🐺🔥
Because you don’t get a Grammy for being good, you get one for being popular. And the average American would have no idea who they are. If you said “Love Bites” you might get as many people thinking you’re talking about the Def Leppard song.
#LOVEBITES #Unchained Phenomenal band. Love the duel lead guitars. Bass player is freaking awesome. Vocals so uplifting and energizingly fun. Drummer might be the most talented member of the band, which says a lot because they all are AMAZING.
Most talented member of the band is synth/keyboard player. Keyboard player has mastered the art of becoming totally invisible! And sadly this seems to be growing trend in music industry.
It finally dawned on me: The chorus is right out of a Gospel song. The transition from minor to major, the feeling of exaltation, even their body language. This has to have been influenced by American gospel. "Glory to the World" had some gospel influence, but this is outright metal/gospel fusion. It's remarkable.
Trivia: This is Lovebites 7th shortest song. Edit: It's actually the 6th shortest song when listening on spotify without the videos intro and outro at 4:17 seconds, right between M.D.O. and Mastermind 01. This is more of a hard rock anthem song like Don't Bite The Dust, No Time to Hesitate and Raise Some Hell. While does aren't my favorite this one works really well, and will be sure to pump the audicene. I'm on my third re-watch of the video, and it get better and better for each listening. I think this is a grower for me.
Hopefully. Of Lovebites all faces, this is the one I like the least. I prefer speed, heaviness and thrash. Or progressive things like stuff on the Glory EP for that matter. There I rate all tracks 10 out of 10
My initial thoughts were a bit dubious, but after listening to a few more times, I gotta say it's sounding better and better. So much is going on, I think the first listen was a bit of a shock, but now my brain is able to break it down. Wow! Haruna steals the show for me and confirms, IMO, she is the best drummer out there today. Fami shows just what it is that makes her the only choice to take the reigns from Miho. M&M always kick ass with the usual solos. Asami, as usual, is a bundle of energy and fun. Heavy rock meets power metal with a bit of pop/rock. Anywhere you want 🤘🥁🎸🎤🎹🐺
Good blending of styles here. On its own, that 1980s pop chorus would sound really cheesy, but it works quite well with the driving rock/metal lifting it up.

This is interesting. Its much more of a hard rock song than a metal song. And it's definitely more "commercial". I think this is a song very geared to be more accessible as they are touring more internationally. A bit like what Metallica did with the black album. A shorter and more simplified song than what they usually do. Still great hard rock, but with a much more commercial sound.
The more I listen to this the more I enjoy it! What a cool song! And as far as the outfits are concerned, whatever these ladies feel comfortable playing in is fine with me. I mean, when did we ever discuss James Hetfield's shirts or Dave Mustaine's choice of pants? The video is awesome as it is.

Lovebitesって技術面が結構話題に上がるけど、それ以上の音がいいと思う。リードパートをカヴァーするベースの低音もそうだし、ドラムのフィルの音の粒だって全てが混じり合って邪魔していない。ギターリフも、リードもサウンドがめちゃくちゃいい。そしてボーカルの声もキンキンした高音じゃなくて、広い声質だから素晴らしいエッセンスになってる。
凄いバンドは山程いても、ここまで音にこだわり抜いたバンドは少ない。Lovebitesが評価されている理由が凄くわかる。めちゃめちゃ音楽に向き合っているからこそ、ここまで来れたんだなって実感できました!

過去一に80年代チックな印象ながら、中間部にブレイクダウン的な要素を入れて、ギターソロのマンネリ感を払拭した感じですね。
そして何より、ここ最近存在感あり過ぎたシンセの主張があまり感じられないのがよい。
他の楽曲もライブも楽しみです。

Do everything you possibly can for that. They are worth it. I was hindered by an illness, but I watched the clips from their European live gigs (June & July 2024): amazing, mind-blowing. Their vibe, joy and energy make The Wolfpack proud, wherever LOVEBITES appear.
Im.sure they will play this song live either this year or next year....they're the only band I know that plays everyone of their songs live or were going to but couldn't because of covid
