- Mick Jagger performing at Live Aid in front of 100,000 people in the John F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia USA on the 13th July, 1985. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

Even without the Stones, Mick could have stood on that stage by himself and done this acapela and the audience reaction would be the same. A STAR.
It may be hard for someone who didnt grow up in the 70s and the 80s to appreciate this moment. Here we got Mick Jagger on stage with Hall & Oates as his back up band along with Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin of The Temptations as back up singers. The song after this was a duet with Tina Turner. Collaborations that crossed that many musical styles like this simply didnt happen before Live Aid. In many ways, that concert was a game changer for popular music in the years that followed.
If this impresses you, check out 'Layla' with Eric Clapton and Phil Collins.
Nice reminder that Queen was not only showstopper at Live Aid.
Mick Jagger should watch himself on film, and hopefully realize what a complete ass-clown he looks like when he performs. He cant sing, he cant “dance”, and he struts around oblivious to both. He needs help. He’s terrible
@@jasheton Yeah, the millions of people who have paid to see him live and bought his records over the last 55 years have all been duped and ripped off. Poor idiots, they must all be wrong! Only John Bandera has seen through his scam!
@@jasheton shutup idiot! he is great! you are poor in taste and money!!
I was at Live Aid. When Jagger went on stage it was like nothing else - except for Zeppelin who the audience went nuts for.
But Jagger is a pro and was definitely the day’s best performance
When he yelled “where’s Tina” they together took it up a notch.
A performance for the ages.
U2 more like
Awesome❤️
So you're going to perform on Live Aid but you're solo and don't have a band. What do you do? You call Hall & Oates. Well done, Mick.
David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks not too shabby also
lamento el fallecimiento de uno de los integrantes nadie lo podrá remplazar que paz descanse
Funny thing is, Keith Richards and Ron Wood were in the building.
@@mikestevenson576 tocaron with bob dylan lol
Hall & Oates had a great band. Sure do miss those days
The best ever. Nobody has his energy. He is from another planet.
michael jackson
@@sdvsraw2010 Has no energy. The thieving pervert is quite energy free.
The Plastic Metalhead indeed there was... ayo
Mmmm Freddie Mercury? Is the best performance and voice of the live aid
The best.
Mick was 42 years old in this performance and the dude was on fire! I've seen him live many times and he's always been a great big ball of fire on stage. At 2:00 he showcases some of those legendary moves.
A guy with all the needed talents. 2022 if anyone still listening thumbs up
The best 30 minutes of Live Aid ! Mick Jagger Daryl Hall John Oates Eddie Kendricks David Ruffin G.E. Smith Tom T-Bone Wolk. I miss you child....
I was 18 when this happened, and was at home glued to the TV with the VCR rolling because this was such a stellar event. MTV aired Live Aid all day with no commercials. I was a huge Hall & Oates fan but Mick Jagger stole the show.
Post it please.... was there too and would love to see the whole thing.
I was there backstage. I was 17 and my girlfriend was 18. We served drinks from 7-3 and hung out backstage with the roadies and musicians.
Lets NOT forget the late great Tina Turner😏🙏🏿
@@seanswinton6242I was 17 too! But stuck working at a department store that day. But had the vcr at home recording. Backstage? Far out!!!
100% agree. Even though Queen and U2 we’re on fire, mick stole the show - I was almost 18.
the fact that i wasn't even born at that time and still regret i didn't went to the concert really shows up the fact that this music was the greatest to ever exist
I’m literally CRYING because I wasn’t alive for this pure AMAZINGNESS😭😭
He’s Mick Jagger. He can do whatever he wants. One of the GOATS
He looks like an ordinary person. He does not act like a normal person. He is Mick Jagger.
The best ever. Nobody has his energy. He is from another planet.
he can shake his bum to any supporting band ... I can understand Keith
Energy machine
@Anderson Cooper ahahah
@Anderson Cooper everyone was doing cocaine yet he still was more energetic

The only artist that can make me dance on the toilet
This preform of miss you is top notch 👌
The best performance of 'Miss You'
I'm always amazed at G.E. Smith's omnipresence in the 80's
Como amo a este hombre, por Dios. La mejor banda d toda la vida y bueno, Mick Jagger, por favor 😻
That's some kick ass band right there!
Y aunque Jagger hoy ya está viejo su voz todavía es de otro mundo!! Su baile. Que show!! ❤️👅👅Stones por siempre!

Charles DeChant, G.E. Smith, Tom TBone Wolk, and John Oates backing Mick !!
I miss you too Mick
This song is off the SOME GIRLS album. This song was their attempt at a disco sounding song. It was a hit in spite of that one misstep.
G.E. Smith was such a badazz back in the 80’d
O melhor! Mick Jagger 🇧🇷🇧🇷2021❤️
Roosters weep after watching that strut... EPIC!
Good one my friend, had a little giggle to myself.
Yes,,,,,, Jagger is. I love him....
This version hit hard ASF .
WHAT IT MEANS...ASF❗️❗️ALL YOU FUCKED YANKEES WITH ALL THIS ACRONIMUS❗️❗️❗️🤦
I truly believe that Mick really took to this and enjoyed singing to a whole different band vibe. Not as good as the OG boys but still very hot and solid.
Ouvindo em 2022, Mick Jagger é mito da música, pqp canta demaissss esse f. da mãe, inimitável!
Mick devora el escenario .....
fresh take on a classic
Un bomba d'energia ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely amazing high energy, passion, and a Shakespearean drama...A truly historical set!
Después de 35 años mick sigue estando genial más q nunca
Not the same without Keef on rhythm guitar.
It wasn't meant to be.
GE Smith is no slouch,, the problem is the drummer ,, no swing
Why did Ronnie wood and Keith Richards play with Bob Dylan and not with the stones???
@@mrveritas700 this is the period when Mick and Keith were not talking,, they really wouldn’t begin to work together until 1987 1988
@@cantina00 Thank you...
Cadê a melhor banda de todos os tempoS? QUEEN?
SIR MICK JAGGER FOREVER!
Awwww those Jagger moves!!!!!!
I was 14 at the time. I am pretty sure I was not very tuned into the Live Aid event on TV. Maybe. Yet I have no memory of it.Very likely I was out delivering papers at 5:30 AM, followed by an 8 hour shift at Mc Donald's that Saturday. Making $3.65 /hr, stressed about making the new Cheddar McMelt burger. Some killer music for sure back in 85. What a great event. The world needs another massive live event. Classic rock focused would be my wish. A coming-out event for the whole world ending the dark covid times we've been in. Televise it on all streaming platforms. Set up a go fund me account. Raise money for needed charities. Mental health. Cancer. Heart Attack. Stroke. Homeless people. Poverty. Drug addiction. Whatever. Think we could all raise 1 billion? It's not unreasonable. Give us all something to feel good about. Make a monumental change. Keep the money away from greed and profit.
The best!!
Estuvo en lima, peru hace unos años , before corona, y no siento ninguna diferencia, es un tipo magnifico.
Mick Jagger y Daryll Hall noooooo olvidate.
Che gran figo! E con gli anni sempre meglio 😋
Energy Machine 🤩
This dude's got moves!
Como hubiesemos querido ver al resto de los Stones junto a Jagger en este concierto histórico, pero en ese entonces la relación Jagger-Richards se estaba deteriorando
Happy 76th to Sir Mick
Crazy to see eddie kendricks and David Ruffin background help..
Magnífico
My number one man always
He's looking for his band but it's not there. Noone to interact with.
He was with Hall and Oates and their band
@@emijimenez7729 good eye bro, you know your stuff. Tell 'em !
Hall and Oates and The Temptations were there with him
He was solo at this time, I remember he had a couple solo albums 💥
So he wasn’t looking for his band because he didn’t really have one 😂
Best times ever!
QUE VIVA M.G QUE VIVA LIVE AID
Energía y poder de mick
Never cared for the guy.. But he holds a performance together. Fair play.
More than 30 years later and they're still drinking dirty water in Africa, where does all the money really go?
Saving Africa needs more money than just from a concert
People act like this concert was ment to mend everything. It couldn't of course, but it made a start and raised awareness.
Corruption everywhere in the African government, probably the simplest way to put it
Mugabe's birthday party
Ryan B but isn’t Africa a continent, made up of about 54 independent nations that suffer from various levels of corruption as well as different climates that cause different problems? i.e. Flooding, famine, disease, etc?
QUE VIVA M.J

Let me share.
🔥🔥🔥
yes babyyy!!!
Mick Jagger Feb solo album out this year And unlike many of the pop stars that day had the sense to take his jacket off when it was a really hot weather day and had the same backing musicians as Hall and Oates think they are in the background
QUEEN the best!!!
The love of mine life
