"Blowin' in the Wind" was the first acoustic tune I ever heard. My babysitter Barbara played it on her guitar for me when I was four. I still remember it. I am now playing and writing acoustic tunes probably because of that moment. Thanks, Bob, for the inspiration.

I've grown old now. But I also grew up during on of the best times to be born into. What a time to be young. Watching all the wonderful things from that era come into focus. The social changes...the cool cars and to some degree the early marijuana days... but mostly the music. The music. Watching these treasures brings back the memories from those times. They carry me back to a time of great hope. And prosperity....How lucky we were to be there. And as Paul Simon says in a song about old friends... "preserve your memories...they're all that's left you". And these poets singing their music. They trigger those memories again. What a great way to grow old. I'm so grateful to have landed here, back then.

Ron Wood: ‘In New York, towards the middle of 1985, Bob Dylan rang to ask if I wanted to do a charity gig with him. "Sure," I said.
He showed up at my house to talk about what songs we might do.
Bob was showing me chords when I suggested getting Keith involved. Dylan agreed, so I rang Keith, two hours later the doorbell rang, and there was Keith saying: "So what do you want?"
I said: "Bob is downstairs, be nice to him." He followed me in and threw open his arms: "Bob...So great to see you!"
The three of us started rehearsing and got through pretty much the whole Dylan catalogue.
On the day of the gig, a limo came to pick up Keith and me. Before we got in, a truck pulled up with Dylan on board - the driver was his daughter.
Keith looked at me and said: "This better be f****** good."
It was better than good, it was Live Aid.
There were 72,000 people at Wembley Stadium in London, and 92,000 when we played at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, plus 1.5billion people watching on TV in a hundred countries, all to help raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
On the stairs up to the stage, Bob said: "Let's do Blowin' In The Wind." I said: "What?" But by then it was too late to argue. I couldn't believe it: that was the only song of his we hadn't rehearsed.
Right in the middle of it, one of Bob's guitar strings broke. I thought fast and handed my guitar to him, leaving me there in front of all those people, playing air guitar.
I was eventually handed another guitar, and when we finished our last song we turned around to find the entire cast on stage behind us’.

The music, the delivery, Keith's strong stability and the easy as can be guitar switching by Ronnie, and the wonderful close ups of Bob Dylan singing so perfectly. Bob Dylan playing a Don Musser dreadnought. Don's made a few for Neil Young and me too. Good guitars . Good company. Then Bob breaks a string and Ron Wood cooly passes him his Martin and goes off stage to get another Martin while Keith Richards plays with Bob on his Martin. Ron returns with another Martin, that's 3, and they continue to an attentive audience. While they can't hear themselves well on these acoustics, they keep going to the appreciation of their live audience and huge worldwide audience watching on screens.
How cool is that! Three heavies with 3 Martins, playing the song of a generation, Blowing in the Wind, introduced by Jack Nickleson.
Wow! One flew over the coocoo's nest!
    Indeed!

Back in 1978, when the single of "Baby Stop Crying" crawled its way into the Top 20 of the UK Singles chart, this song was my introduction to Bob Dylan's music. I was one of those who bought the single, and it has been a 'go to' Dylan recording for me ever since. It was the key to the door!
There isn't a live version of this song in '78 that I don't like, though it was delivered in a noticeably less declamatory style (and with more feeling I think) in the first leg of the '78 World Tour.
Dylan is still touring in '24, and I live in hope that he will revisit "Baby Stop Crying" one day!

why say that? you think it will make you look smart ? you think you are too cool to compliment one of if not the most prolific songwriters of all time so you will attack his singing and guitar playing. Anybody smarter than a can opener would realize he changed his name to bob dylan because that is what he wanted to be called. Everybody respects this and ever since he is just bob dylan to everybody. But not you, because you think it makes you cool to call him by a name he disliked so much that he changed it over 60 years ago? bad news for you pal, doing that is just like the pathetic tools who go on things like imdb and say stupid shit about some of the best films/film makers of all time

    Psalm 47
    King James Version
47 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
