This is the most practical van conversion I have ever seen. You've managed to fit a toilet, shower, fridge, sink, kitchen, work/dining space, living room, and bedroom in 32 sq feet. And you got a dog?! Well done, my friend. Well done!

I've seen so many van conversions but I've never seen one with the couch/bed layout the way you did it. Very neat!
You would save yourself a ton of money if you go to regular TP and toss it in your garbage bin cause it looks like you may have to empty it daily since your bin is so small
Many vans now come with them .very handy

I'm so impressed with your van build. Girl, you had a sink, composting toilet (some people with bigger vans don't have a toilet). You used every space in the van. You and William seem very happy. Best wishes to you.

I also love small spaces but it comes with it's downfalls. Their is a reason we don't put toilets in the kitchen, it's just not sanitary.

I must say from my perspective as a 76 year old engineer, that I’m impressed. Given your design constraints, you have an efficient layout. This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen but it looks like you performed the detail design and fabrication as well. The electrical subsystem appears sufficient. The other functions, kitchen, bed, storage, and toilet appear adequate. Initiative and emotional maturity exceed that of 95% of your peer group. Enjoy it while you can. Go girl.
You are so beautiful and smart and cute. Almost makes me want to give up my 40ft RV. You should think about converting/customizing other people vans just for the them. I bet thier is a niche for that these days. Stay save and unique...

Its always been a thing that when you turn 21 its time to get married, get a good job, buy a house etc etc. This van life, nomadic life is definitely becoming a thing out of neccessity for some. A life style choice for others. If I had this kind of info when I was 21, I probably would have chosen van life, at least for awhile. But that was 45 years ago. So you go girl! And your mom.
It's a cute home...a lovely canine companion...and I especially like that it's a lifestyle you, as an adult, can share with your Mother.

I have watched a thousand or more van, camper, cargo trailer and tiny home builds to get ideas for my jeep this build ranks among the best i have ever seen and to top it off it was all done with a jig saw. I am truly impressed hope to meet you on the road one day, safe travels.

62 and want to move into a van at some point so am a new sub 2.
You could probably find a little trailer box online second hand that wouldn't cost too much more in gas to move with you and would hold quite a bit of extra stuff! Then you could keep the stuff you use the most inside, and the extra/seasonal stuff in the lockbox.

@@AdventureTimeLoui thank you, I know whatever comes our way, my family can do this, but stay careful, its all illegal now, I saved this to share with my family, so many evictions and foreclousers coming, and yes, afraid living in your auto has been illegal for some time now, but we can do this I feel.

Your comments at the end was so awesome and I totally agree. I am 72 yrs and just started living in my van the last week of September and getting to know and understand me. It is so empowering and freeing. You are not distracted by what we consider the normal lifestyle. I'm enjoying it, I just wished I started sooner in my life I enjoy being in nature. I have a 1997 Ford Aerostar XLT ext van (the last one made) that I do vanlife in. Thesr vans are awesome!!!
Hey! Cool! We are instant van buddies then haha! My aerostar impresses me more and more with every horrible road and intense mountain climb we come across! I'm alway impressed at how well they can handle the weight we put in them for such a tiny van.

This is a late ass comment but I have to say how happy this video made me. I’m planning on buying a van for my birthday and converting it into a travel bus. I’m only gonna use it once a month for short trips. I’ve struggled with racial identity for years and thought it would be weird if I traveled like this as a black person because it doesn’t seem like many black people (or POC for that matter do it) I can’t express how exciting it is to see someone who looks like me doing exactly what I was afraid I’d be criticized for. I turned 23 while traveling the entire US & Canada in a van for 6 months. It’s a great time to do that sort of thing. Looking back.. I might suggest really enjoying the places you stay. I hardly remember “the van life” as far as sleeping and eating or whatever. I mostly remember seeing the country... and meeting people. 💪❤️
I am definitely missing out on the meeting people at the moment and really miss that aspect of nomadic living. This is definitely a great age to explore tho and I absolutely love being free and experiencing life in such a pure form! Thanks for watching!
