You can really tell that this officer is passionate about his job and all that. He stands proudly, representing CoLP and appears to be very proud to be in the job he's in. We need more officers like this!
Won’t hear this from me to often but that’s a copper you wouldn’t mind stopping you. Obviously carrying himself well as he is on camera but something tells me it’s just how he is in nature. More of these types of video, interesting.
I work in the city, proud to have these lookin after me tbh
Such a lovely young man, he came over proper professional
These is peak bloke television. Just brilliant.
These videos are the best! Opening my eyes to everything the different area's cops are having to deal with! More please!
99% of cops are great, I feel safer when they're around.
Looks like you’ve got a new pal! I don’t know about you but I love it when I click with people like this. Would’ve been great to see you bantering on the shift together back in the day 👍🏼
What a top bobby. T 165CP, great work, great mentality.
Fantastic!! Really interesting. Never thought of the City of London plod having to deal with car chases. Also the amount of kit he's carrying... 😮 xx
Agreed but why does is this comment listed as 4 days ago when the video was uploaded 19 minutes ago?
@@jamesdylan3126 true that is very odd
@@jamesdylan3126probably got released early to patreon or memebers
@@jamesdylan3126video was likely published to channel members first, and then republished again on his main channel for everyone. A lot of RUclipsrs use it so they can list "early access" as a benefit
Loving the banter and camaradarie, you dish out to the different forces across the uk . You're such a likeable fella with a wealth of knowledge and experience, and i think a great ambassador for what the police should be through and through . There will always be crime and shitbags but generally, if the majority of police are like you and jordan ( the city of london bobby), then I'll sleep better at night . Thanks guys ❤
Really good interview the officer came across very well 👍 super interesting video
Love this series it’s brilliant, I’d love to see you two out on patrol on interceptors, quality banter. BMW are known for having very deep rear seat bases compared to other cars which is why you noticed this being very small! Where next? Maybe the Met motorcycle unit or an off road bike unit? What about GMP tactical vehicle unit or Mick Roffe’s unit with the unmarked Cupra and X3 M40i, Golf R etc, something meaty and fast!!! Police helicopter or drone unit, gosh, the list goes on!!!!!!! Absolutely brilliant Ben.👍
Wow this was awesome, what a lovely young man that officer is - he clearly cares about people & is passionate about the job he is doing. Thank you Ben, this content it brilliant, & thank you to CoLP for allowing our Yorkshireman to chat to you so candidly.
What a great insight into the City of London police, keep them coming please 👍🏼
Nice video Ben, really interesting seeing the vehicles and equipment from different police forces
Spot on Video as always Ben. Would love to see more of these.
It's the little things too, those bags to hold the signs and stands make it look so much tidier! Rather than everything slung and stacked ontop of eachother!
So glad to see that you have a new program on RUclips so happy for you Ben all the best Sarah in Scotland 🏴
Great video Ben. Jordan would appear to be a proud Officer who earns the respect others have for him.
Cheers Ben - great content!
Actually really enjoyed that. Nice seeing comradery like that. Just fun.😊
Loving the new content Benny Boy. Although I also miss the old war stories.
Keep up the good work mate.
Brilliant 👌
Love the content/videos, keep up the great work 👊
This has got to become a worldwide tour, surely. 👍
was in London 1sr week in August. had a great short break.
hope to visit again next year
loved this! great watch
Really interesting video ,and you both had a good rapport the new Ant and Dec
Ben it just gets better 🙏🏻👊🏻👍🏻
Fantastic video mate
As per great video Ben so much respect for PTSD awareness 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The Volvo XC90 looks solid, strong and well-built.
Better value for money than the BMWs.
Another great video Ben. Personally I'd like to see the toys the Dubai police have, and I'm pretty sure the petrol head in you would love that too.
Really good! Great to hear of better medical training too. As for the back seats... ever been handcuffed in the back of a P71 CVPI? Me neither - but similarly large car with tiny spaces!
I got into the rear if a 3 Series taxi once - never again! The door shape was appalling to get your head in! Ben just got straight in there, same as my little Skoda Roomster.
Way back in the 80s I know Ford Transits used by the RUC used to have uprate suspension but all the other Ford police vehicles back then were basically standard in the UK, according to the info Ford issued.
The old Sherpa vans the local police in the W Mids used were fun when they had V8 Rover engines in them. Some of the mechanics at the dealer I worked in used to race them up the workshop Blue lights and sirens going and 2 screaming V8s lovely noise lol
Brilliant video. Interesting and entertaining. I'd happily watch more reviews on other vehicle on the fleet
Your username... is it "bikes cars" or "bike scars"?
@@VideoDotGoogleDotCom haha, I’ve not looked it like before! Both relevant…supposed to be life bikes cars though 😉
I was in the line in the back of you guys 😅
What a lovely young man
Hi Ben, men and their car.....i love it. But serious, this is a interesting video, and what a beauty 😉also the car.💙
My friend owns an XC70 that is a former undercover police interceptor. and yes his one still has the remap that they’ve done to it. In actual fact the police got it remapped by volvo themselves which no member of the public. It’s the D5 engine which has 205bhp from stock and now it has 250bhp. So it’s very likely that this XC90 has been mapped
I had a ARU prototype V90 CC D5, my god it went like hell. 235bhp on the ticket...not a chance.
They are not mapped. Some older cars were, not anymore.
It is very common for certain Specialist Duty vehicles to have a 'Performance Upgrade Unit' plugged into the wiring from the Accelerator Pedal by the Force Workshops which is then easily unplugged at the vehicle decommissioning before being sold on to the Public
Great video Ben!
Will you be doing a video on how BMW are no longer supplying to the Police due to their engine issues?
Normally not a fan of Volvo's but I definitely like this one
Loved it 💙💙
Would love to see you with wmp and see the automatic stinger in use
That's one solid motor. Always had a softspot for Volvo.
Ben you Legend😎
I never knew there was a separate force in inner London - Nice to get a look around the Volvo
PSNI had Mitsubishi Legnums as traffic cars around 2000 - they were 2.8 v6 twin turbo and capable of stupid speeds - we got a look around one and the lad driving said they always had to get fuel at the halfway point of the shift - he reconed they were 14mpg
Brilliant
This has got the makings of a very, very good channel . Variation is key . Well done matey .
Some much old tosh nowadays : fat-lipped , fake-tanned influencers / auditors begging - pleading to get a long overdue slap ( happens every now and then , great viewing ) . This makes a refreshing change . I watched you doing Family Guy , a very , very funny show.
Your reaction to it ( fractured ribs ? ! ) was just as funny . That xylophone.... 😉 😅 Subscribed ⬆
Could you try and do some stuff with the met please? Maybe vctf or operation Venice
Thanks Ben very informative i like the city of London uniform, the only part of the uniform i don't like is the very tall hat that some wear.I know it's tradition but not very practical for today's policing,i must say they look odd in this modern world.
Be a great car for the city. But once you open them up on the motorway top end struggles and the engine vibrates like mad under braking. But for comfort and general patrol it's a good car.
The lack of a Polestar upgrade is absolutely baffling
For those of you who perhaps not already aware, Londinium was the old Roman name for the British capital or London as we know it today.
I had an ex police Volvo V70…fast wasn’t in it 😂😂 loved it, still drive a Volvo today, excellent cars.
Didnt know this , I only thought it was the MET ,but No . Good Video
I would love to see you review some cruisers here in the US
It’s happening pal.
Would make a great recruitment video for City of London police
Tracking Agenda noted. Very friendly with the Police too.
Fantastic Advanced Driver's vehicle here has all the tools you need but hit a traffic light queue in Central London and there is no way you can squeeze that through ....
To be honest, the only thing that will get through London traffic is a bike.
@@PJ-om2wq Very good point! we all know what a nightmare it can be
Why a T6 and not a T8 for an advanced car? Even without being plugged in once the performance still very much increased!
Probably reliability
Ben, I love watching your videos on the different police forces and learning about the work you do regarding PTSD. Is there any possibility you could do a video on the Motorcycle section, of one of the police forces please.
I bought an ex police car, and it definitely was mapped, and shocks and springs were definitely uprated. Also, most of the wiring was odd, lol
A faraday pouch/box works well.
Ben who pays for the City Of London Police and are they the same as the Sheriffs that they have in America?
OMG. I wish I'd known. I work in the city. I'd have come down and said Hi. I like City Police. I'm sure everyone will like this. So y'know those muppets on pushbikes who think it's ok to jump a red light ? Well, City plod have a lot of bike patrols, and they really don't think it's ok. The amount of times I've been waiting to cross the road at Bishopsgate and someone jumps a red, then finds themselves being pulled over by coppers on pushbikes. It's a very pleasing sight. Also, those e-bikes. I was walking past the Bishopsgate nick, and there was a copper loading a waggon with confiscated, illegal e-bikes. He told me they were of the illegal variety as he loaded them. I've yet to meet a 'grumpy' city copper and I see them almost every day, as I walk between customers.
Spend a lot of time working in London they have every vehicle make and model at there disposal, watch out for the vans that look like plumbers and builders wish my van could have blue light for the journey home on a Friday
The city goes to sleep at night, it’s not uncommon to see these guys in Bethnal Green in the early hours . 👮♂️
And made with Boron hardened steel better protection for the officers.
I honestly thought there were golf clubs in the boot when he first opened it 😂😂😂
that Ben he's doing alright
What could he lock you up for hmmm ? Impersonating a RUclips star😅 or having a baseball cap normally worn by 20yr old Ned...seriously love your video.s ...keep up good work and best wishes ...
City of London different to Met police.i was wondering would there expend around London near future
Nice car Ben but it's only got 1 speaker.....
How sharp is their uniform though? Jammy gits.
There’s a white one up in Lanarkshire it’s fast as fcuk
I part-time grew up in a mechanic's garage, slowly became interested in vehicles (mostly classic domestic muscle from 60s/70s), then eventually strayed off onto the Asian import scene but appreciate both. When less cars, trucks, vans, and wagons started to fade and were increasingly being replaced with f*cking SUVs, I began to wonder what this meant for the rest of the world. Many countries can accommodate these fat assed vehicles no problem, however places such as Japan and all over the British Isles can't handle it.
There are video essays dotting RUclips discussing this problem in detail. The streets in London are only so wide and Americanized vehicles are posing a problem even while parked because they take up way more space compared to a Vauxhall compact. Drive safely, everyone. Things just might get a little worse from here on out. It was humorous watching the guys from Car Throttle drive a Hummer H1 around years ago but that was just a one-time thing. Officers like these guys are going to need to adapt fast and particularly keep a close watch on those (many) blind spots.
ULEZ Compliant then?
👍
I hope it's good for traffic duties
Why are the uniforms red and white
You need to review the new cop car Toyota Corolla Hybrid
5:50, unless the Police models are derestricted, XC90's are limited to 112mph.
Why are you showing me the car model I am trying to buy as a hybrid 🙄if I buy a B5, you will be at fault now ben 🤣
American hearing that a Volvo XC90 is considered a large car: 😂😂😂
WOW THE POLICE ARE ON YOUTBE
Have you ever thought of doing a staged arrest, i.e., you getting arrested in cuffs n taken into custody n chucked in the cells for the night and film it all arrest to release. Knowing you , it will be jokes all the way through 😂.
Maybe other avenues like a day in the life of .......as a fly on the wall . Subjects like dog section , river police , helicopter etc . Great channel , should be on tv again with your own show 👍
its against the law to touch a divce while behind the wheel?
the poor badger
Bad boy review of Will Smith's car? Question mark?
I would drive that car for free!
noice
We can carry lots of cones😂😂😂
Tragic. A UK Police officer should be in a Jaguar or a Land Rover not any kind of Euro box.
They re not as good as the x5s, engines blowing at around 40k gonna end up costing them much more in maintenance
It can do 145mph... their force area is 1.12 square miles! 😅
Is it ulez compliant? I paid 42k for an extra eco Seat alhambra in 2014....beats euro 6 rules but it didn't exist at the time so khan adds 25% to my charges to corporate clients to drive through the zone for my ftse100 directors an average of 5 miles per day. Thankfully they don't have a choice because they need close protection and evasive driver qualified contractors for insurance purposes.
Knowing the city as I do, I think this car is overkill.
Need a nice car, cos you ain’t catching many people wearing all that crap!
Hardly new….that’s a 2019 car. Must be near dead now! Lol
Rather than costly new toys, police need to grasp the idea that criminality/corruption, and complete disinterest in things like knife crime, are of far more concern to members of the public, and idiot videos like this one, tend to make police look even worse in the eyes of the public...............
I think you’ve lost all idea of the video. These are “Traffic Cop”, so it’s showing you about “Traffic Cops” to break down barriers and show behind the scenes. “Traffic Cop” deal with “Traffic” and RTCs, Fatals, Stolen Vehicles, Pursuits…….the idea is in the name……Traffic Cop!!!!!!!
" Do you Chip em? " .. You what?!! Car's have been chipped since the 90's! They are Re-mapped now. If they were re-mapped they would definitely not be ULEZ compliant.
Wow, you must know a lot about cars..
