Character designs aside, the mecha and machine designs look absolutely amazing, and it's clear that they've been modified to make more mechanical sense. The Zaku fighter especially looks great.
They need to make a Gundam game with this engine! :D
It's Unreal Engine 5 and yes it's a crying shame we don't have a game to tie-in using the same assets.
i mean Bandai litterally is pushing out a Fortnite creations mode using the assets when the show releases in Unreal Engine 5

@@keroro407 You should really look into Gundam Breaker 4. It released recently on Switch, Steam, PS4, and PS5. It's more melee and RPG focused than AC, but you get even more extensive customization for your mechs than AC6.

@@Helghast73 The original dubbing is probably a lot better. Anime and japanese game redubs have almost always relied on amateur actors. Sometimes doing the redubs just back to back for multiple games in a meeting room rather than an actual recording studio.

Forget anything on cable tv .This is what I am watching.
Getting a kind of Gerry Anderson/Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet vibe from the character designs, which is kind of appropriate given those were all heavily influential on the mecha genre.
Fun fact: The early Clone Wars designs (CGI series) took inspirations from the proportions of the Anderson TV shows due to their similar pulp stylings

The Red Shoulder Color on the Red Wolves is homage to the Armored Trooper Votoms Red Shoulders. In my opinion, this is an Alternate Universal Century [AUC] close to Thunderbolt AUC based on Mobile Suit design alone. Depending on the mission the Zeon Forces are in, Mobile Suits for Zeon should always be center of their Combat Doctrine - think of German Tactics in WW2 with Blitzkrieg. An argument can be made due to being November (Near end of the OYW), they were being more careful on deploying Mobile Suits. Unless they were trying to lure the Feddies out, then deploy the Mobile Suits. By this time Earth Federal Forces would've already started mass deployment of their own Mobile Suits.
Also, Operation Odessa is about to begin over in Odessa, Ukraine - which is November 7th in the UC timeline. (But again, this seems AUC - so we'll see where this goes)
Can't wait to watch it, but the expectations are not so high for this one.
Mobile suits are essential to the Zeon Forces, but they certainly are not the be all end all to their operations. Did you forget groups like Cuaran from the "Time, Be Still" episode of First Gundam? You still have foot soldiers fighting and carrying out operations. There were entire areas of fighting that didn't have the luxury of an abundance of mobile suits (some had none) to subjugate. There's nothing in this that indicates any sort of alternative continuity (which is a fallacy anyway).
@@deaconblues1823 There was one iconic scene of a Zaku got shot down by a platoon of tanks.
If they made Seed Destiny mechs like this, fans of that series will see how ludicrous those suits are. This is how gundam should be, gritty and realistic.
They went absolutely crazy making this, this is going to be great.
So basically, they did zero recon and rolled a column into an unsecured territory? The Gundam designs better be really good to make up for that awful scenario.

Expecting good tactics from Zeon is your first mistake.
Zeon basically got as far as they did on the tactical advantage of Mobile suits. Once superior Federation suits based on the RX-78 came into the fold, the tide turned pretty rapidly.

@@mayorofmadrigal2593 Yes, this is set roughly two months after the first Gundam is publicly disclosed in Side 7. The only one that exists in the timeline according to the date is probably being piloted by Amuro Ray.
The Zeon are going to be the focus characters this time. Their opponent is going to be a Gundam Type Suit. Probably an RX-79 custom job based on its overall look.

3:15 Zaku - the iconic bad guy mobile suit in Gundam series, and the best homage to it is the Army of Evil Coop from Megas XLR.

Me, remembering the gigantic Russian armored column rolling right down the road to Kyiv without air support or advanced scouts: "Oh, yeah."
This looks more like a game cutscene from from the 2010s than a proper animated movie.
Facial animation reminds me of Starcraft 1 cutscenes, which was in 1998. This type of graphics is 26 years old.

Technically only about 7 total ACTUAL Gundams exist at this point and I'm pretty sure by this point in the war 3 out of those 7 have been totalled. 😜😜

please for the love of God get someone who actually understands infantry tactics to review the script before you try and shove "hurr advancing in column over" into a scene with guys in dress uniforms walking down a street with at least 2 guys carrying flags. And the MS designs didn't need to be reconstructed like this.

OMG THIS IS SICK
Human animation is what I expected, mechs look way better in this than I initially thought, so I'm personally pretty hyped now considering how skeptical I was at first. That said, here's my nitpick: the Zaku start up noise is weak. It's there, and I appreciate where the team was going with it, but it's so quiet I had to put on headphones to hear it. If you must break my Gundam fan heart by not using the original sound byte, at least turn the volume up so it's a proper crescendo, rather than the digital equivalent of a wet fart.
The rest of the launch sequence though? 10/10 can't wait to watch again when this releases.

Spent all the budget on incredible cgi then forgot about animating characters faces lol. I’m always excited for new Gundam content though, especially UC.

Looks a bit off, as late as November OYW, the Federation Forces seems a little under-equipped ( although this is debatable since Odesa's counterattack came from the western Europe which is probably where the Federation had all the new good weapons and stuff but I understand that this is from the man behind the alternate UC, Gundam Thunderbolt, the scene also features only 4 min so I can't judge anything right? ). The Zeon soldiers are not looking very "reactive" to the ambush considering they are on the verge of defeat ( by not very reactive I mean their animation and faces that reminded me of Mass Effect ) not to mention the Dopp tank that didn't show its ejecting feature on its turret. I was not expecting much ever since its first trailer from last year ( especially the western-ish main characters ) I guess it could attract some new fans to the series but be warned that if you guys want to try Gundam, this one does not fully represent or capture the original Universal Century.

Just you they are the standard Zaku II. The Zaku is such a cool design that other mobile suits in the series took inspiration from them like the main bad guys of Gundam Wing.

They gave a update back in June asking people to be patient, they are working on it.
This project has nothing to do with that film and isn't interfering with it. Asking here won't get you answers.
