- 1982 911SC with SSI headers and GT3 style double center outlet Dansk exhaust. Quiet enough to be streetable but wiiiicked awesome when you're on it.
And yes I have a license plate light out, who knew?!
I think at least 5,000 of these views are from me. This video pretty much convinced me to spend $2k. It's hard to capture sound through video but you did a great job. I'm sure it's much louder in real life but the tone and over-run noises mirror what I hear from my 3.0SC with SSI's and M&K muffler.
Nice, glad to hear I could help drain your wallet!
Oh that sounds niiice!
I like this so much.
Delicious tones!!! I was curious if there was any difference in power, plus or minus, as this muffler was designed for earlier smaller motors? I also have a 3.2, but run George's Euro Headers, into Burns Cans, then into a similar style outlet. This is for the track, and likely about 10db's louder than yours, and WAY too loud for the street! I have a Dansk-Pro 2 into 1 for street use, but sounds anemic. The Dansk 2 in 2 out, that have the exits at opposite corners sounds great, but I absolutely love the sound and look of yours though! Are you happy with the ceramic black finish? How's that finish holding up??
Thanks, I love it too! I think for the 3.0 the SSIs are still appropriate and come with a small power bump, not sure how much is from the headers and how much is from losing the cat. I'm not sure if the SSIs are okay for the 3.2 but I think they are. The 2-in-1-out wasn't enough for me, either, so I think the 2-out is a good line to not cross before you get into crazy loud territory. And it's not the ceramic black, it's been painted, which unfortunately hasn't held up so it will take a media blast and coating to get back up to par (I should have done the ceramic! Hindsight is 20/20!)
David - Thank you for sharing, sounds incredible. Can you point me to exactly which SSI H/E you used?
Sure, I picked them up from Patrick Motorsports: www.patrickmotorsports.com/part/ssi-exhaust-headers-heat-exchanger-set-1980-1983-porsche-911-sc/
@@davidtorley9696 Thanks, David. Can you also share a link to the exact muffler you have? TIA.

hhhhhnnnngggg that's a good noise
nice
Did you purchase a different bumper? And is your license plate charred black? :)
I pulled the lower valence and the tips come out just under the bumper. Well actually just slightly against the bumper now that I've replaced the engine and trans mounts, bringing the exhaust up a half inch. And no! Surprisingly I've never gotten flames or soot, which is almost disappointing but probably for the best. :)
David Torley awesome! Do you have a picture of the back end? I’m going the exact route. Are you running thin flanged SSIs? I currently have the single exhaust cutout on the driver side of the car, was thinking I’d need a custom bumper
I don't recall if they were the thick or thin flanged ones, but that's based on your heads--best to call the vendor and ask if you're not sure. All the exhausts come out below the bumper, but anything other than a single exhaust on the left will require the lower valence underneath the bumper be removed. Here's a couple of photos that show what I'm talking about. Custom fiberglass valences are available and from what I remember they're not too expensive.

Edit: Yuck, I knew I had to pull the muffler and coat it but dang there's a lot of rust blooms on it. Time to take care of that!
hello. What Dansk muffler is it exactly? and is there a drone when cruising?
thanks
+Maarten Heynderickx It's this one from Patrick Motorsports, a 2-in-2-out with the GT3 style center outlets:
www.patrickmotorsports.com/part/sport-exhaust-silencer-muffler-wide-porsche-911-gt3-style/
It needs a modified or removed rear valance to fit.
Oh wow never answered the second part--yes there's a drone about 2000rpm, but the car sits about 3000rpm on the highway and sounds nice and clean.
