@@CarCraftAutoDetailingSandro, does your backinglate fly off your EB210?? I read alot of issues with this and ahinemate itself is also aware of this problem. It seems they made some adjustments to the backkngplates. Are you familiar with these issues?
@blackmagician0078 no, here in Australia we didn’t get the initial release that apparently had that issue, it was already fixed when we got our machines here and all the new units now selling should have the updated part - from what I know it was just a new screw mount for one of the backing plate types that was needed, nothing major and an easy fix.
I hope they sell that in the USA. That polisher looks incredible! I have a Flex PXE-80 which is a great polisher but in my opinion is just doesn't have nearly enough torque. Hi , mate. I can't choose between eb210 and eb351. I'll use it as second machine over ex620 for trickier areas as curvy fenders and back doors. The only concern about b210 is that will be less powerful as eb351. Your opinion??
Hi , mate. I can't choose between eb210 and eb351. I'll use it as second machine over ex620 for trickier areas as curvy fenders and back doors. The only concern about b210 is that will be less powerful then eb351. Eb210 has more features and if it has enough torque I'll buy it. Your opinion?
I’m assuming you’re referring to the eb351-3” (there’s 4 different eb351s). My advice would be to stick to corded and go for the ex603 in your case. It will have the most torque as a dedicated mini 3” polisher if that’s going to be the main purpose you want this additional machine for. The eb351-3” isn’t as good as the other larger eb351s and the eb210 isn’t really meant for full time use with 3” pads - it more for 1” 2” and 2.5” pads. Hope that helps.
I decide that I really want 3 inch cordless DA. I have 3 inch corded. If you have to choose between eb210 and eb351/3/12 which will be for you. I really like options of eb210 but I'm worried that it will be weak for my purpose? Your opinion? Thanks again ✌
I would choose the eb351-3” as a dedicated 3” if they were my only two options. Another option may be to wait, Shine Mate has been pumping out many great new machines and I think they are aware they need a better dedicated 3”, so there could be something new not too far off - but I don’t know for sure.
Q: what is the amount of time you use this small machine vs the big one with big pads? Wondering because I can't afford 2 nice machines. If you could choose 1 to be the nice one, which would it be?
It really depends on the car and job. For more straight forward cars (less intricate designs) and more basic to intermediate levels of correction I’ll use my larger machine far more. But for more complex car designs and higher end work I’ll use my mini polisher far more. Generally I would suggest to start with investing in a good larger polisher as it will be your workhorse machine. But don’t assume more expensive means better - the Shine Mate EX620s are cheaper than the more expensive brands but class leaders in just about every area.
Hi Sandro I am in the market for a new 3 inch polisher. I don't necessarily NEED the rotary capabilities that the shine mate offers but it would be nice to have. Strictly as a DA alone though, how does this Machine compare to the relatively new Rules HLR75
If you solely want a 3” DA I may possibly say the Rupes HLR75 could be a better choice as it’s got the grunt for 3” to 4” pads and I believe Rupes has come out with a new safety trigger replacement to solve the issue it had with accidental firing (though I haven’t seen it here locally as yet). For me personally I’ll probably still use the HLR75 as a dedicated 3” DA and use the eb210 for 2”, 1” and 1/2” DA and rotary applications because I’ve got both machines. But honestly the EB210 can really do it all.
Hey Sandro, when you displayed all the heads and attachments around the 10 min mark - could you also do quick change on the orbital or is just the rotary?
Hi Sandra, That is a great review.👍 I too, really rate the Shinemate products. My EX605 is my favourite polisher. Shinemate are a fantastic brand and their pricing makes it viable for me as an amateur enthusiast. I simply cannot justify spending the money on some of the other highend brands.
Hi. I cannot seem to find the really little pads. I think the backing plate is 15mm. The really really small ones it comes with. I checked your links but i don’t think any was listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Your best bet will be contacting the sellers the links in the description box will take you there or it’s Waxit.com.au here in Australia or parkscarcare.net in the states
Hi Sandro excellent video just ordered mine here in uk , can you use this with the shinemate 100 mm pads with 3 inch backing for light paint enhancements? Keep up the good work - Andy in uk
Thanks and you can still use it with 100mm/3” pads, you just get more overhang like using 4” pads on 3” backing plates, but ultimately I think you do get a better experience using the dedicated pads plus they are quite affordable.
Hi Sandro, I was looking to purchase a 3mm or 5mm EB210 head for the occasional wetsanding/polishing. Do you have any opinion which size would be more useful/recommended? Seems like most of the mini machines come with 3mm as their secondary D.A option.
I think either will be fine for sanding and light polishing but I think I’d personally go for the 5mm, it’s still quite a small throw and should be a little better at maintaining spin, making it perhaps a better balance for sanding and polishing.
Hey Sandro how would you compare this polisher to the PXE-80? I’m about to purchase my first mini polisher and can’t decide between the two after watching your video. TIA!
If you just want more of a dedicated 3” polisher I think you’ll be happy with the Flex, but if you do want to also use 2”, 1” and even 1/2” pads on both rotary and DA modes the Shine Mate is a clear winner.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I really appreciate the reply and I’m glad you specified Flex for a more dedicated 3” because I will be purchasing the Ibrid nano for anything smaller then that. Thanks Sandro!
Hey Sandro, such great info and thank you. When you are polishing under the door handles with the extension what settings are you using. Rotary? Speed? Pad etc. Thank you very much.
Thanks and if I can fit the 1” or 2” backing plate & pad with the extension bar and high speed rotary attachment, that’s always my preference for door handle cavities and usually I’ll be on speeds 1-3. If that won’t fit, then I will use the cone pads on the same extension bar & rotary attachment on speed 1 only.
Hi Sandro, wondering if I could get some advice. I'm looking at a Rotary 75mm Polisher in the Makita line (I don't want too many diff battery platforms) would that compliment my full Sized Forced Rotation to cover most jobs or would you suggest I save up for a mini DA such as this?
I completely understand as I also have about half a dozen different battery platforms at home! But for car polishing the eb210 just does so much and does it so well from rotary to DA, sanding, compounding and polishing with 1/2” up to 3” pads that’s hard to overlook. I just think every detailer/enthusiast that gets the chance to use it will absolutely love it.
Hi Sandro, thanks for the video. Have a couple of questions before I start putting my EB210 to work. Do you think the 62MM backing plate would be suitable for standard 75mm/3inch pads? I was a bit sad to see no 3/5mm DA head included, do you think any of 12mm/RO heads are suitable for spot machine sanding with a foam buffer pad or you wouldn’t recommend? Also could you help assign a shinemate T number to the new yellow and orange spot pads. Yellow used to be T80 and orange T40 would this still be the same? Cheers
My pleasure mate and I think the 64mm pads and plate would be the ideal option and being they are so cheap and quite good it’s a great plus, but a 75mm pad will still work. The 12mm DA will still work great for spot sanding - I wouldn’t personally use the rotaries. The new yellow, orange and black foam pads are still called T80, T40 & T105 it’s just the tapered design and new sizes available, but the foam grades are the same
I believe the EB351 can use Makita batteries. The EB210 battery looks very similar to the Bosch GBA 12v battery. Do you know if this battery will work with EB210?
No I don’t but I’m doubtful. Many lithium batteries in these machines tend to do more than just power the equipment, they also tend to communicate with the skin and influence how in works/performs - but I could be wrong.
Thanks for the info. Did you have any issues with the backing plate popping off like in this video? ruclips.net/video/8913puQ8E7w/видео.htmlsi=apz4BAZ5rFbRcMwd forward to 12:50 minutes @@CarCraftAutoDetailing
No I haven’t had that issue at all. But I was told that all EB210 units where undated a few months ago to address that potential issue - we here in Australia only got the updated version so I never experienced that, it also wasn’t an issue with the pre-production version I had.
Hello, I have watched a couple of reviews on this polisher and have heard there is an issue with the backing plate disconnecting from the DA attachment. Have you had any issue like this with the 210? Thank you snd have a great day!
No I haven’t - I believe this was an issue with the first run of machines (that never made it to Australia) which was addressed a year ago - if by chance anyone has the older backing plate thread, it can be easily exchanged with the updated one, it’s a simple free swap.
The batteries look a lot like the 10.8/12V batteries from Bosch. Not a chance they would fit this Shine Mate? I have a couple of Bosch Professional 12V tools already...
Good morning, I’m really wanting to purchase the kit but I’m unclear as to what it actually comes with as far as backing plate sizes and pad sizes. If I wanted to use this as a 3inch DA, will I have to purchase the 3 inch backing plate? I’m confused because a lot of videos keep mentioning 3 inch pads but I thought the largest backing plate it comes with is 2.5. Now I do also want to purchase the 5mm DA head, and I’m wondering if I wanted to use the 3inch backing plate with it will I have to buy different pads for it? Or are the pads already included . Long story short, I just don’t know what exact sizes of backing plates or pads it comes with and if I need to buy a 3 inch backing plate and separate pads to fit it and if I can use that with the 5mm da head. Thanks
The 1” and 2” backing plates are for standard/universal pads in those sizes. The larger plate is a for 2.5/2.75 inch pads that Shine Mate makes themselves, but there’s is also and standard 3” backing plate Shine Mate also offers now that will fit all universal 3” pads. With the 5mm DA head (or any other Shine Mate head) that’s not included on the kit, the same backing plates and pads fit as per described. The reason behind the slightly smaller 3” pads is that it’s not meant to be a dedicated 3” polisher, it’s meant to be a macro polisher - sub 3” pad machine. Now it definitely has enough power to run larger 3” pads, which is fine from time to time, but it not meant to run them all the time - a larger dedicated 3” polisher is best for that. It’s like buying a smaller but powerful turbo charged car to tow a trailer, it will most certainly tow the load, but you’re better off getting a V8, as over time you will stress that smaller engine if you constantly run it on heavy loads. Hope that helps!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailingdang bro, perfect answer I was looking for.. thank you so much. I may still pick up the 3inch just to have it as well in case I may need it but thank you again for the response.
Can you please explain the use cases for the two different rotary heads (but not the one for extension tools) Also, does it come with those sanding discs and are the backed onto a light foam interface?
No it doesn’t come with sanding discs and the two rotary heads allow you to have seperate screw in and/or twist lock thread alternatives ready to go - it’s just a nice added option, but certainly not needed for everyone.
My pleasure mate, and the EB210 only really just latched here a week or so ago so it may take a little more time till we get replacement plates and some other bits but hopefully they will becoming soon.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I've had some time to play with this polisher, and it's a cracking little polisher. Just be careful not to lose the 1/2 inch backing plate, it's tiny! Looking forward to some oem backing plates, but have ordered some aftermarket ones in the mean time. Thanks again for the video Sandro 👌
No, I haven’t seen any car polisher brands that can use batteries from other brands. From what I know the battery is more than just a power supply, it also communicates/regulates functions with the polisher skin so each one tends to be unique to the brand.
@DrCeramicDallas no, I personally believe it’s fine for the occasional 3” polishing, but it’s really a macro polisher - 1” 2” and with their own 2.5” pads - that’s what it’s made for, if you’re after a dedicated 3” to 4” pad polisher I wouldn’t recommend it as it’s not build for that.
I'd rather buy the Makita Dpv300 unit only at around 200€ or/and Vonroc 400w corded for 50€, both 75mm 3 inch. Non brand machines tend to die fast and in the wrong moment
Me too! First impression is that it's very tricky to keep the pad rotating - very sensitive to pressure and angle. (I've only used the 12mm offset with the 2" pads so far). I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be using rotary mode most of the time.
@@gregsullivan7408 I used it today and you’re right, the rotary adapter works very well and doesn’t bog down. I used Meguiars heavy cut compound with the white microfibre 2” pad on a bit of overspray from a cheap paint job and it came off in seconds. This tool is going to be amazing for interior plastics as well as exterior pillars. Mazda has the worst piano black plastic trim for scratching. It’s very soft, scratches too easily. 👍

I think it’s quite an easy fix if you have one of the older heads - contact the place you bought it, Shine Mate has an updated replacement screw attachment that solves it from what I’ve been told.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you for the advice.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you again for your honest answer ✌
Great advice, thanks!@@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Sandro, are you planning to get your hands on the all new Rupes iBrid HLR series ? If so, I can't wait for your reviews about it !
Yes, would love to test it out, I think April is about the time frame it will arrive here locally.
Seems like the Flex PXE80 find it's biggest rival.
Hey Sandro, when you displayed all the heads and attachments around the 10 min mark - could you also do quick change on the orbital or is just the rotary?
The quick change is just on the rotary, I think the dual action motion is too unstable for that sort of twist and lock system.
Thought so. Thanks for the reply.
That battery reminds me of a Milwaukee cordless drill battery but black
cool
Hi Sandra,
That is a great review.👍 I too, really rate the Shinemate products.
Appreciate it!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing ok thanks Sandro.
Pure Evo, Mohs Evo or Cquartz uk3.0 - which provides the most visual pop in your opinion?
Maybe Mohs, but if you throw CQSiC into the mix it would probably be on top looks wise.
Thanks. Is this your go to mini polisher? I'm assuming so but there are so many to choose from lol.
Yes, although I have a use a multitude of machines, the eb210 is my go to nano polisher
I wish Shinemate would make 1” & 2” foam in red like they do orange.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you so much for your response. And I guess shinemate it is 😁
Hi Sandro, thanks for the video.
Thanks for the clarification, really helpful. @@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Can you please explain the use cases for the two different rotary heads (but not the one for extension tools)
Also, does it come with those sanding discs and are the backed onto a light foam interface?
No it doesn’t come with sanding discs and the two rotary heads allow you to have seperate screw in and/or twist lock thread alternatives ready to go - it’s just a nice added option, but certainly not needed for everyone.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing so which would be the go to for correction work rotary head wise out of high torque vs low 🤔
And ah okay on the sanding discs!
The high speed head for the 1/2” and 1” pads and the high torque head for the 2” and 3” pads
Your channel has made me the local Mr. Miyagi. Do you still use NV products?
Haha great to hear that and yes, I absolutely still use Nv products.
Thanks for the video. I've ordered an eb210. I can't seem to find replacement backing plates yet though?
My pleasure mate, and the EB210 only really just latched here a week or so ago so it may take a little more time till we get replacement plates and some other bits but hopefully they will becoming soon.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I've had some time to play with this polisher, and it's a cracking little polisher. Just be careful not to lose the 1/2 inch backing plate, it's tiny!
Looking forward to some oem backing plates, but have ordered some aftermarket ones in the mean time.
Thanks again for the video Sandro 👌
@@scottsnet where did you order the backing plates?
Hi Sandro, are the 1" and 2" Shinemate MF(blue/white) pads available to buy? I can only find the 3", 5" and 6". Thanks.
Yes, here’s a link: www.waxit.com.au/products/shine-mate-spot-polishing-microfiber-cutting-pads?ref=1NNwBEgP4yO4AX
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you!
Would you say this can replace the rupes micro polisher
Yes
Is the battery compatible with milwaukee M12 or bosch 10.8V?
No, I haven’t seen any car polisher brands that can use batteries from other brands. From what I know the battery is more than just a power supply, it also communicates/regulates functions with the polisher skin so each one tends to be unique to the brand.
What sanding disc can you use with the eb210.
Any hook and loop discs - you can find a variety of 1” 2” and 3” sizes on Amazon and eBay
.... And you have the 5mm Orbit to Sand too.... 😮
eb210 or Rupes hlr75 ibrid?
EB210
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Even as a stand alone 3 inch polisher? I know they have now included a proper 3 inch backing plate.
I just purchased the Maxshine V2
Nice!
Has your backing plate been spinning off during rotation, What can I do to keep it on the polisher?
No I haven’t had that issue - I was told the EB210 units where undated a few months ago to address that potential issue - we here in Australia only got the updated version so I never experienced that, it also wasn’t an issue with the pre-production version I had.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing by simply vetting the product they would know how much of a design flaw this is. The polisher is useless in my book.
I think it’s quite an easy fix if you have one of the older heads - contact the place you bought it, Shine Mate has an updated replacement screw attachment that solves it from what I’ve been told.
If it's good enough for Sandro.........
🙂
The price is too much
I'm really thinking about getting this. I love my Ex620 and ex603. Also a ex605, what do you think about the 605?
I love the ex605, I used it as my primary polisher for many years. I think you’ll absolutely love the EB210 as well.
