This is a truly incredible tune!!! The way it tells a story, and uses great wordplay (equalled only by someone of Elvis Costello's stripe) ... just superlative!
I turn 30 in July and they have always been my favourite band of all time ( thanks dad 😉) most underrated British band of all time. I listen every day with the same effect
This song always confused me. Couldn’t work out who was singing. Recently found out it was Paul Carrick. Amazing song. This version is really cool. Weird but cool dissonance in the guitars gives it a really different feel.
That riff all throughout is correct but it's waaay too prominent in the mix. I think Tilbrook clocked it early on but too late to stop. Nevertheless, great song and the way he's played that black Tele all these years has been sublime. As well as a superb singer he is the most underrated guitarist ever in my book.
These are my Lennon & McCartney - beautiful arrangements - to classic beautiful songs - long live Difford & Tillbrook 🎸
Amazing arrangement! The tone of Glenn's Tele is amazing!
Great job! It’s just the two of them with no backing track! Real musicians!
Brilliant as always
Great tune! Two great songwriters there!
Always fantastic 👏
They are still fabulous
Saw them backing Madness a few month back, my Mrs turned to me and said why are Madness not backing these guys, they were fantastic!
magnificently
They both sound great.

Always the “underrated” comment with no thought. These guys are top rated! Who do you rate higher?
Brilliant 🥰
Awesome what’s more to say I’m going down the pub 🍻
Let's hear it for old rock n' roll guys!
Saw them in 1982 one of the best straight forward music concerts , the songs were the entertainers.
Squeeze with Flock of Seagulls and the Producers--St Louis in the summer of 1982. I wish I was there right now.
@@johnmuldoon2037 saw same show in Grand Rapids was awesome squeeze shook hands at end of stage after the show.
All the snipers - p**s off. Glenn’s voice is still great after all this time and the pair of them have gone through a lot.
Old school xxx
Every day and twice on Sundays, please.
Fair play to Glen Tilbrook.....think Paul Carrick did the vocals on the original.........great job.....tight as fu.k!
You mean Glen?
Yes of course Glen......my apologies!
Correct!!! This is the boom
I see the acoustic player learnt two notes for this

Where's Gilson ?
A think thes boys are do It well x
Ditch the acoustic!
Do they get paid the same?
acoustic is firewood now!
Could do without the acoustic.
Or the amp lowered at least.
Why is he playing that same little riff over and over?? It doesn't first the verses 🤔
I found it odd too.
Me too.
Yeah it became unbearably tense, kept waiting for him to break the tension and play something else.

Wow this one of my favorite songs right now and they actually butchered it
Piers Morgan and Paul Merson making a right mess of it
I’m a massive Squeeze fan but your comment had me creased 😆
Fantastic song........but this is all over the place
You really shouldn’t listen to music if you haven’t got ears.
44 years in the biz tells me all that I need to know
@@virgilrytaar9083 you get invited to the show and show them how it's done, Mr. Bigshot
See u next tuesday@@shawnkavanagh2951
@@shawnkavanagh2951 see u next tuesday. When you've done as many years and made as much from the biz as me you are allowed an opinion
acoustic is too loud in the mix. theres only 3 thngs going on and they cant even get that right. Its a good performance too
Are you alright hun?
@@michaelmorphites6733 yes i'm good, thank you
Thought it was Alan Titchmarsh playing guitar at first
and Piers Morgan?
Acoustic guitar bad tune
Ruined by the acoustic guitar
Not the best version I've heard
The acoustic is out of key
Not the same without Paul
a very imaginative acoustic guitar part... jesus. give that crap a rest. lol
Man, that was terrible. Soooooooo out tune.
I hate it when great artists murder their musical legacy live on morning radio.
Wtf was this?????
Sounds absolutely aweful with that acoustic.
Painful.
Pretty mediocre
