I was on board this year, my 2nd year. I totally agree with you about bands playing at 3 , 4 and 5 in the morning, it's brutal for them and for us. Because the trip itself is so expensive and I'm there for the bands , I can't help myself to stay up by ingesting enough caffeine to keep a large family awake or I take a 1-2 hour power nap. Crypta on the pool deck was by far my favorite show. I would recommend that you consider staying up next time.

I stayed up for the Aborted set on the pool deck that night and had a good spot during their set. I was struggling to stay awake, I had to take a piss so bad but I couldn’t lose me spot up front. But I stayed awake for the Crypta set and powered through it

I assume they have shows all through the night to keep the party-people by the stages, not by the rooms. I've never been on this cruise, but I have been on the boat from Oslo to Copenhagen, and some people can get shitfaced as hell there, and it's always a problem with them disturbing passengers that want to sleep. But if they just keep on partying by the shows instead of by the rooms, it works out. XD

Awesome! i just wish I was in the financial position to do it even once. More to the point though. i think Cruise to the Edge would be more my speed, since I'm more into prog than metal. But only by a tiny bit.
As someone who has done Shiprocked 4 times since 2015, 70k has been on my radar for quite a while, its a bit heavier than my normal taste, but the ship does seem way better than the Carnival ships that SR uses, so i may have to consider this at some point.

A few things: 1. Your dry sense of humor and delivery 🤘 2. So glad you read Jurassic Park, the movie is an absolute classic, but the book (as is so often) even better. The Lost World book is great too.....and no, dinosaurs aren't unleashed on San Diego in it. 3. I'm not a metalhead, because I have no clue who all these bands are that you talk about. I guess I'm a "radio" metalhead if anything. One of my favorite shows I've ever been to was Mastadon/Dethklok. Anyway, this still looks like a blast regardless and I don't even drink! Subscribed sir! Hope you did well in your battle of the bands.
One consideration is that 70K has a large international contingent. 5AM BOAT time is like 9PM to an Australian. Or noon to a Finn. It's early as fuck to us US people, yeah, but we're not the only people the schedule is catering to.
Next time you go to 70 000 tons you should make Boats And Shows season 2.

Hey, not sure if you (or another cruiser) will see this comment, but would appreciate a video/comment on booking with 70K Tons of Metal. Looking to go with a friend and not sure how it works. I see that you book an entire cabin but not sure how it works. I know they do stage bookings, though. I understand that much. But just trying to figure out how to make sure me and my friend will be able to share a cabin.

I once went to a water park, there was a huge wave pool.. well i guess it was ghetto night, or some rapper performing later that night, but the wave pool was full of a.a. and viscosity of the water felt like oil. I got about knee deep, and got splashed in my face and tasted nothing but coco butter and grease. 🤢 Like I said, so much so, the viscosity of the water changed.

Never knew about this cruise until your videos! Went to see about 2025 and was wondering how much this usually costs, just an estimate? Couldnt find any pricing on the website just yet
This year, the cheapest ticket was $1,666 IIRC. However, there's an automatic $345 charge, plus a $100 surcharge for booking solo, which can be avoided by booking with someone you know. The booking site is very upfront about this so it's easy to figure out the cost.
