The beach balls were the work of my band Odinfist. We opened the festival and had 24 beach balls scattered over the stage. During our performance, we kicked the balls out into the crowd. I even brought a leaf blower to send the balls off stage because I thought it was hilarious. The show was awesome
We are playing another Metalfest next. There will likely be 100+ beach balls during our show there because we can't help ourselves.

Yeah, I’ll admit some things that happens at metal festivals has been a bit annoying to me, but it’s a bloody metal festival, weird shit happens, just move on, go get a beer and go find a band who’s performance style you like 😂

I went to a Metallica concert once. When they dropped beach balls from the ceiling, it was a harrowing experience and I barely escaped with my life.

Btw ALL of the beach ball were deflated by the end of the 3rd band. There were none in the air by the time iron kingdom and flotsam and jetsam went on. ALSO my bf and I brought over 30 inflatable swords and two inflatable orcas on the Friday night for tyr and my bf made 20 pool noodle lightsabers for the flotsam and jetsam show(same night as the beach balls) 😌 happy to contribute to this man’s dismay

Omg I was not expecting to see a video about this !! I attended all three days of hyperspace and it was a fucking blast!! Everyone loved the beach balls and had an amazing time moshing with them and throwing them around except for this guy apparently 😭 as soon as his post went up literally everyone was clowning on it it’s hilarious

A Karen detector needs to become part of the screening process upon entering. This particular Karen should not go to any more shows if they are that frightened of people and hands, the floor, balls, sweat, beer..etc, I'm surprised loud noises are ok.

I've been kicked in the head by croud surfers, dropped while crowd surfing, have had my nose busted by a flying elbow in a pit, been knocked down and picked back up by strangers in the pit, and had a pump knot the size of a golf ball on my head when Trent Reznor tossed a half frozen water bottle he took a drink from into the crowd; I laughed at getting kicked, Insisted on being picked back up to crowd surf again, got back in the mosh pit, and happily drank and shared that GIFTED half frozen bottle of water with the people around me smashed against the barrier in front of the stage because we were so thirsty! I'm a WOMAN, and this dude is a total CHAD! Is this one of the same guys who tried to sue Madonna because her show was late, and they had to work early the next morning? FFS 😂😂😂
If only he'd thought to come to the merch booth, which was manned 100% of the time by people obviously connected with "the manager" of Hyperspace.

I was there bringing in more inflatables and pool noodle lightsabers when the security lady doing tickets told me about the guy complaining about the beach balls so we just laughed at him. Whats funny is that the venue owner was hanging out at the front lobby the whole time, just nobody bothered telling him.

I saw Impaled Nazarene one time at MDF and the singer was really upset about beach balls. One of them got on the stage and the singer asked if the festival was maryland hippie fest and proceeded to smash the beach ball on the ground

Except for apparently this guy... Thanks Wyatt! The Rickshaw Theatre is THE hub for metal in this posh and shitty city. much love!

@@mikepalmer2219 The first time I saw Alice Cooper was in the late 1980s. He unleased a bunch of huge balloons partially filled with fake blood. The cops outside of Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto were baffled by the fans coming out soaked in red. Good times.
