Passed on Pappy 20 for WLW in Pappy/BTAC lottery... Glad to hear your comments on "Bully in the school yard"😂 I went back and forth and went with flavor over hype, thanks mash and drum
I started to ration all BTAC some 10 years ago, when the madness began and save all 2 cases of 2007-2010 collection: now just opening ONE bottle every other year or so . . . the rest o fthe year is just StaggJR, Weller107, ... great vid !
Not sure why I torture myself with these reviews. And it's not like I'll ever pass on getting a bottle if I happen to luck out :) Even the bourbon bars in my area are running out of everything unicornish - this is MADNESS!
Jason, great tasting notes and H2H. Just got lucky with a call from local store, had my pick of 3 bottles, took the 2021 THH. A bit high at $130. Looking forward to cracking for the holidays. CHEERS!!
So this Thomas H beats one of your best ryes of the year, Michters Barrel strength rye? Excellent work. Happy thanksgiving, Jason. Looking forward to your next episode.
It's too bad that so many of these are bought up by flippers who couldn't tell if they were drinking white label Beam or a highly allocated product. I never could understand why people can sell their bottles to other individuals when alcohol is so regulated. I know there are laws but obviously they aren't enforced. Great review. I'm in the process of opening my allocated stuff. Can't wait to get to my Pappy 15 and post a video of me mixing it with Diet Coke just to piss the taters off. 😆
@@jeffreyking279 There's already laws in place that just aren't enforced. Even BT has tried to crack down on the secondary with no success. I'm not trying to be a downer or a Karen if somebody offered me $1,500 for my Pappy I would happily part with it. Hell for $1,750 I'll throw in my cypb and a bottle of Weller 12 just to get rid of it so I can get some stuff I like. My Pappy is a "red cap" production error so that should be worth at least another $500 right? 😆 I have less than $200 in all 3 bottles. If there's a fool out there I'll gladly part with it.
I respectfully disagree. There is no way I would pass up a WLW for the THH - never. I haven’t had this year’s yet, but I’ve had both for the last three years and it’s not even close. If you ever want to trade straight up, I’m game. Lol. BTW I’m loving your content. Keep it up 👍
Would take a WLW over anything else Buffalo Trace offers including Pappy here. Such a rarity to find a wheater with that proof and age. Sounds like a Handy in a lottery would hardly be a consolation prize though. Great review Jason!
I need to get into your circle of friends lol. Been trying to get ahold of a WLW for two years now. Still hoping to track one down in time to celebrate my 25 year retirement from the Army coming up in July. I am even willing to pay secondary up $600 this one time.
I'm with the guy who asked why he tortures himself with the reviews. Your whiskey experience is sooooo dramatically different than probably 95% of your viewers.
even regular Buffalo Trace bourbon is getting hard to find. I was in Kentucky over the weekend. Went to 6-7 liquor stores. all of them were out of BT bourbon 750ml bottles. only one store had 3 1.75ml bottles. in KENTUCKY. unreal. and those stores all used to have Eagle Rare. none of them did and they even said it's getting hard for them to carry it anymore. ugh.
I live in rural Kentucky and yes, regular Buffalo Trace is a bit hard to find. When a shipment comes our way, some stores Jack it up to $40. Eagle Rare and EH are a joke. Fortunately, I am an hour from the mothership and can go up every three months to get BT at retail. I forgot to mention that a lot of limited edition bottles are hard if not impossible to see in the wild. I haven’t seen a C921 ECBP yet. I see those in Georgia when I go there.
Every time you mention secondary prices, you give price points for Liquor Stores to bump the price up to and people who wouldn’t know any better, offering their lottery bottles at these prices as well. Not to mention all the people who aren’t in to whiskey but are in it for the potential profit. Please back off on talking about the secondary so much.
@@Wombat2121 Sort of... There are a lot of people who might know roughly about it and then there are those of us who have been allowed into the group. You know what I mean?
"take his lunch money...give him a swirly...pants him in the school yard" Freaking epic!!! hahahahahaha!!! Great stuff!

Love the LA Jay playing in the background at the start of the review!
Nice review and glad to allow you the chance to do so. Cheers!
i absolutely LOVE the WLW.. that chocolate sweet cherry hit you in the face for me.. super duper good.

Yeah I think I may swear off the unicorns as a new years resolution. Lol
Im starting to lean toward scotch more and more. Im not going to pay these crazy prices for bourbon.
@@chrismiller755 Couldn't agree more... you can get some fantastic Scotches for that $100 price point....... and they are actually available!

We don't need more laws.

Great reviews as always jason! Man I hate that I love the W.L.W as much as I do. I tried really hard not to but it's just to good
I see ECBP C921 on deck in the background
Yes sir
Picked up a 2020 thomas h handy a month or so ago for 120 after tax. Gonna pop it deep in the bitter minnesota winter.
You won’t be disappointed
@@rthilson i probably would be if it was $600-800
@@LeatherDaddy97 paid $100 for it let my friend have it not a big rye person but I tried a few glasses
once you pointed out the mint I couldn’t get thin mint cookies out of my head.. good notes of chocolate and mint on the finish
Didn’t get a Larue this year but did get a nice Full Proof last night at 49.99.
Lucky bugger. Enjoy!
Oh will do sir.
Love this matchup. They both sound really good
Nice review J. So, what’s the most you’d pay for these two?
The handy I'd pay 200. The wlw maybe 250 just because it's a wlw. but the handy this year is awesome.

LOL.. The old WLW swirly! sounds like the bad ass of the playground.
Bourbon pursuit said the handy was the standout btac this year as well.

Yeah I would probably still take the WLW as well but man this handy is really good
Double BTAC attack! Great stuff, Jason😊🥃
Imagine paying 700-800 with a straight face for a 6 year Buffalo trace product. 😅😂😅😅😂😅😅😂😂
imagine being able to afford it :)

I often wonder if BT is cheating with Cherry flavoring. Everything I try from them has such a distinct cherry flavor it makes no sense.
Soooo lucky. FOMO as usual. 😂 I’m happy for you. Awesome! Even if it’s just to borrow.
Rebel yell 10 is also a fantastic wheater!
Can’t find that either

I'll take your for it on the reviews as I'll never get my hands on those
O Great another review on bottles that nobody can get!!!
Miracles do happen
How does he know what star anise taste like lol does he eat it..
Try 1900-2000 for wlw!
You serious?
If I start a channel will people send this to me for free also?
Unless i didnt hear it i dont think these were sent to him for free
Can anyone send me these bottles to review? Thanks guys
It would be interesting to see what these tasted like if proofed down to 90.
Let me guess. They'll taste watered down.
