Popped the THH last night, my first BTAC. Woah, it is intense... on the nose I actually got soft carmel, sweet smell with oak. Palate was a mint bomb, pine, super bold flavors. Excited to go back for more.
17:40 If a whisky is good enough on the merits to get into the best of competition, put it in. And if that means that one distillery has a large representation, then it means that distillery is doing a good job in y'all's opinion, and that means the distillery has earned the recognition. 🙂
Nice review. I like how you guys take time to consider your rankings rather than just go with the first taste. If you think the WLW is high quality stuff, which being BTAC would seem to qualify it, keep it in the whiskey of the year trials.
Nice review! In my area of California the stores would sell the sample bottles for those prices! Regular bottles are 1000.00 or more depending on which offering. Cheers!
Me agrees with Sara. Having 3 in contention is quite contentious!! That was fun 😂 So really I would leave it out. That being said as I always say it's your channel do what you want 🥃🥃
I would give an arm to get a chance to buy a Sazerac 18 reasonably close to retail. Tried it once at a bar and it was one of the best rye’s I’ve ever had and one of the most complex whiskey profiles I’ve ever tried in ANY whiskey. A true 10/10 experience and the 90 proof, to me, still felt like an oily, full-bodied whiskey. It tasted like it was supposed to be bottled at 90 proof.
Who cares how many of one brand is in The Best Of The Year Bracket. If it's better than what you replace it with, then the replacement doesn't deserve to be there.
Do you have info relating to the numbers of bottles produced of each? I’m curious because in my part of Southern California it’s normal to see GTS in liquor stores for $900 or $1000. WLW is not seen as often and generally carries a $1,500+ price tag.
I have a bottle of Pappy 15 2023. A friend has someone he knows that wants to trade me a GTS and WLW for my PVW15. I have been hunting those bottles, but idk if I can part with my Pappy. Would you make that trade?
I'm going to have to be happy with the '23 lineup that I already have. I won't be spending what it cost me again. The EHT BP Rye was fantastic. Better than the THH in my book.

Thank you both I always appreciate the video 🥃

I just want to say that when those are empty would make for a pretty cool candle set that I would want. 😎 Cheers
I really enjoy your reviews. I think you both work really nice together and you each share meaningful perspectives.
Thank you
Great Review!!! I appreciate your honesty.
I commented before the end of the video. Please don't put any restrictions on your top bourbons. Should BTAC have 3 in the top 10 or 20 so be it.

Handy best btac in recent years 👌

Yes, include WLW in best of the year line up please

Would love to see a blind tasting of 2024 THH vs 2024 M10R
I guess I need to find time to crack last year's Handy!
2022 Handy is an all time rye.
Lots of Whiplash pop on this one. Gotta love it!
Gonna have to watch that movie again now.
Nice updated intro music
I just praise Jeebus that I've been able to acquire two bottles of George T Stagg so far in my whiskey career.
Got my first this week. Still doesn't feel real
@@thebigdubnetwork Congrats!
@@jg5555 thanks!
Amen brother
Dark green is a great color for you.
High end 🤌🏻
T.Stagg and WLW are my favorite.
I got a Handy last year, didn't feel like a consolation prize.
I agree. It's fantastic!
Late to the party, but if the WLW is one of your top bourbons of 2024 it shouldn't matter who its producer is. Let 'em play!
Yes, please tell me more about the unobtainium that I could only 1 day hope to get from the OLCC lottery, and you can taste of my Wild Turkey tears.
Whiplash is an exceptional film
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
I’m confused. Are you comparing these 5 to each other or are you comparing each one to prior year releases?
WLW should be in contention.

@@jamessocal8946 Seems like they’ve released those numbers in the past but not for this year.

Whiplash! Took me a bit.
No “bottle politics”….let your top list be your TRUE list. If they all come from the same place..so be it. Let the cards fall where they may

This video was just my tempo

Handy is the only one I’ve had this year and I wasn’t very impressed.
*not weller millennium… 😂😂
@@andrewbolin890 Yeah, in my mind I was saying CYPB haha
