- Your favourite show could never. Oh god I hope I did them justice. I know it's a pretty long video but please watch till the end (my fav part starts at 3:42). So anyway I'm pretty pissed about the show being cancelled but making this video calmed and reminded me of one of the MANY reasons why awae is so so so important to me. Please share this video if you want as it may inspire some people to start watching the show.

i know! coming from a school where every girl was to be "part of the boys" and women thinks it's inferior to have women friends because they "gossip too much" or "are too much drama" (coming from a friendgroup that is equally both genders, it's false) it was so hard for me to actually love being a woman but this show finally convinced me to openly be a woman without feeling inferior by doing so.

The fact that a show like this - that talks about real issues and topics - is being cancelled, while shows like riverdale - a show that the actors themselves don’t even respect - get renewed, is beyond me.
Tbf. Netflix owns Anne with an E. While the CW owns Riverdale. And the CW is the network for all bad television (the only good show on there is black lightning imo).

Francesca Buonanno CBC cancelled the show. Apparently CBC didn’t want to work with Netflix.

I read somewhere in an interview that CBC offered to move it to another network, but the contract they signed with Netflix didn’t let them. I’d blame Netflix for it being cancelled, not CBC (though I could be wrong... I read this a while ago and I could remember it incorrectly).

As someone with mental illness 13RW is ONE of the most progressive when it comes to dealing with there issue. There open, in your face about mental illness and they dont sugar coat anything in order to not hurt your feelings. There living in 2030 not 2020.

Gilbert is pretty much an example of how men should act. Treating women with respect and understanding that they can do what they want, and don’t have to be controlled by what others say.

But sadly she was. Ended up not travelling the world like she wanted to and waiting for her husband, the sultan, to come home. Exactly this is why the live action aladdin is the only life action disney movie I prefer. It was way more about feminism than the original movie. She had such powerful scenes and as the cherry on top even became sultan herself
Not only did this show talk about feminism, but it talked about racism, toxic masculinity, child abuse, abusive schools, freedom, human rights, hurtful family, adoption & orphans, LGBTQ+, bullying, and so much more. This is my favorite show ever and I really hope they renew season 4.

The fact that Gilbert had to read Anne’s article for people to understand, is done in a good way considering the fact, that her article won’t fix anything, so having a man read it for it to matter is perfect symbolism.

I love how women are the backbone of Anne with an E.. The freedom of speech scene gets me every time, so does that ethereal Beltane scene. And the way the men in their lives are shown to support the women is so important--it comes across subtly but powerfully in the show. It's feminist without yelling in your face about how feminist it is. It constantly shows how strong women are, in big life changing moments and little everyday moments.

I love Cats Because she uses Prissy to accomplish her feminist wishes and she isn’t able to stand for her own ideals.
The only thing i didn't understand was when Anne classmates didn't believe in her until Gilbert read the newspaper and explained to others. Although it can mean that man and woman should not be enemies and could do things together, it also means that they couldnt believe a woman until a man stand out for her. Truly a confusing scene, as well as realistic.

I never thought about it like that but that actually makes so much sense, it kinda conflicts with the message that they are trying to convey. The fact that they didn't listen to Anne because she was a women but immediately stood up with Gilbert contradicts the point that they are trying to get across.
They didnt understand. As women in that era, they were almost wired to think everything opposite to feminism, while men were able to think whatever they wanted. When they heard Gilbert explain it to them, they understood

People loved Gilbert and would listen to what he always says. Since back at that time, no body would listen to women, nor was feminism a thing, it was hard for them to believe. In that scene they showed how Gilbert used his privilege to share it.

I was an anti feminist girl when I was younger men in my life made me feel embarrassed to call myself a feminist they painted the movement out as wild angry women, but as I got older I began to understand the difference between feminism and femanazism I realised how foolish it is not to have my own back, I grew up in a sexist house hold I was forced to take up a majority of the house work when I asked why I had to do all this I got the answer “because that’s why I had a daughter”, at age 20 I’m mocked by my own mother for being unmarried and childish when she was already pregnant with me and married I plan to marry but after I go to uni and have a career I love, I realised how women still need feminism when my friend was assaulted by her ‘friend’ she was crying, verbally telling him no, begging him to stop and tried physically to push him off but then he argued about how wet she was even though it’s the body’s involuntary reaction not hers then the police questioned her for 6 hours and despite having a text exchange where she asked him why he did it they argued they didn’t have a sustainable case and someone had the audacity to tell her about it’s not her fault she’s pretty they argued that it was consensual because she consented to making out apparently that’s also consent for intercourse despite her verbally saying before hand she didn’t want to go further, my mother, my aunt and my best friend all victims of assault I had classmates who I heard stories of who were assaulted a friend of mine was almost assaulted behind a school building by a friend but because he had Aspergers they felt he didn’t know better.
So to any young women proudly exclaiming you’re not a feminist rethink your stance one day it could be your friend, your sister, your daughter even your son, brother or your guy friend feminism isn’t just for women me too isn’t just for women.

I still love the fact the probably the two most feminist characters were a young girl who was treated terribly her entire life and was still one of the kindest people in the show and an elderly woman who was a lesbian and 100% authentic in who she was even though the society around her would not allow her to do so.
This was amazing!! Despite being set in the 1800s, awae is definitely one of the most feminist show I have ever watched! (and it's one of the many reasons why canceling it was a huge mistake). And don't worry, you did it justice, this was a beautiful video! the world needs this show and may our voices about renewing it be heard

@@paolazeledon9661 I say that because Feminism doesn't care about men at all, they downplay, dismiss, and straight up protest conferences about men's issues.
Men have it harder in society, women and their issues get more support and wayyyy more public funding. That's why Breast cancer got more funding than Prostate cancer. That's why in the UK, a male rape charity gets slashed to zero in public funding. That's why a owner of DV shelter for abused men (BTW, women are more likely to initiate domestic violence than men) got so little public funding that it got shut down, and the guy committed suicide.
So I have to ask you this question, do you speak up for men?

I feel like Netflix is just trying to make its audience dumber so they could watch any sh*t they make. They cancel this extremely great show but not ones like Riverdale or 13 Reasons Why?? I can't see any other excuse to cancel Anne with an E.Absolutely infuriating,seeing such a show with such a big potential go to waste because of literally no reason at all -.-

Yeah but i also think that most of the books is put in the series (I haven’t read them myself so I’m not sure) so this would mean they would have to write a continuing story themselves and let’s be honest that just wouldn’t be canon and good like this which is derived from the original stories

@@AndreaSmdeo you should watch the films from 1985. Even through Anne with and W touched on a lot of stories they ran off the grid with the book a lot. It's very compromised and focuses less on Anne and her life (like the books) And more on touching certain topics. Which isn't a bad thing. But it's very loosely based off the books. The 1985 films capture the books perfectly though

This show is the most well written piece of entertainment I’ve ever seen - I’m talking films, shows and even books. It’s strong and soul-filling and heart-warming and thrilling and IMPORTANT. Moira did so well.

But now, when feminism is rising I know how exciting it is to be a girl today because sometime in the near future there will be the first woman president after a long line of 47 men. i don't know a single person who has watched this show and not fell in love with it. #renewannewithane to keep talking about issues that really matter, to show the world that teenagers are not only up to drama and meaningless romantic stories, we are here to make this world a better place. If Netflix and cbc don't understand that, then they'd be exposing the truth they make a big effort to hide: money is all that matters to them, not culture, not art, not entertainment, but money.

Awae is an amazing show.
It gives of beautiful messages to the world, about adoption and orphans,lgbtq+,bullying,child abuse racism and much more.
To cancel a show that has such strong messages and is fun to watch is horrible.
Awae is very popular and many people are upset to see that season 4 might never exist.
Atleast we learnd something from the 3 seasons we already have.
Part of me wishes i didnt watch the show, because it makes me sad that there aint a season 4. But im reqlly happy i did, it cured my boredom and it made me happy that it was based on the early 1900 and late 1890. This video made me realise how much i really love this show. It has strong and beautiful messages. And even though season 4 might not be on its way yet, im happy they put in such amazing messages along the way and im happy i get to fight for this amazing show to continue.
Im pretty sure that there will be a season 4 since there are so many flaws and problems that need to be fixed. Its a good show that makes you realise all the beautiful things about life, and the show is entertaining.

Maybe check out the books? Iirc, I don’t think the books had as many feminist elements as the show did and the books didn’t really have dark scenes (like when Anne was bullied by the girl in the orphanage) but I think they’re really fun as well

the wisest 5 minutes and 24 seconds i’ve ever spent in my life.
This is definitely one of the most underrated shows ever. I guess it's getting cancelled because people prefer to watch stuff like 13 reasons why or Riverdale which is fine but we need shows like these need to keep going, because they teach lessons, they set a good example for children and most importantly it reflects real feminism because it’s encouraging young girls to stand up for themselves and for each other instead of embracing misandry.

First, when I saw the title of the video I was sad because I thought they were gonna mock AWAE because feminism isn't liked by most people I have seen on the internet. But I was wrong, this show talks about REAL feminism. I see no reason why AWAE is cancelled, cause I think there are a LOT AWAE viewers.

Not gonna lie, I cried. I'm so sad that such an excellent piece of media is being cancelled because of views when it shows important topics such as this, however I am glad that we are able to spread the message of empowering women through this wonderful show

@@ihate4286 Personally, I don't see that as true. Women my have better rights than they once did, especially in Canada and the USA, however we still have a long way to go. For example, there is still a wage gap between men and women, giving men more money than women for doing the some job. Especially if you look at third world countries, you can see that a lot of work needs to be done. For example, young girls being married off at ages as young as 11 and 12 to a 30 year old man or older who continues to work his day job until he is old. Meanwhile, the young girl he is married to has children, raises them, does housework, and never gets her own job. Women deserve to be entirely equal to men, and I just don't think our world is there yet.

The fact that AWAE is not a feminist show in which they belittle men shows so much. I love this show but that is by far my favourite thing about it, because if you are to call yourself a feminist you should not belittle or criticize anyone, whether they are male or female but instead fight for equality between men and women.

I had the exact same thought, It doesn't in any way trespass the limit of making men feel less, it just enforces equality between genders and it is really beautiful to be seen represented in this way.

Anne inspired me to embrace myself because I am as imaginative as her. I have never seen any other character I highly relate to without her being a princess. She isn't flawless, she has a temper, and I love her because of that. This series makes me feel somewhat at home.

Same I have a temper as well. She didn’t realized she loved Gilbert. I have a Gilbert and I didn’t realize that for a long time either, I love being able to relate to Anne. Because no one is perfect. And I didn’t talk to my Gilbert for 3 years. I am so glad at how she said I’m not going to give myself over to someone and abandon my dreams.

Anna with an E was so stupendous! My family since I’m an middle child AND A GIRL I have to clean, work, my oldest sister is disabled, and I have to clean her and do homework? And their excuse on why I have to do all this is because I’m a girl. I have a step dad who makes enormous mESS! and I have to clean it because I’m a woman. This hits me hard because I wish to say that to my family. Because their view is that woman should stay in the kitchen and then get married off...

I hate it when men say you have to clean because youre female. Like, what exactly is disabling them from cleaning? Do they not have hands? Is it gonna hurt their penuses? No. So they have no excuse on not cleaning and doing housework except from "it's a woman's job".
Also i dont mean that every man should clean and all, I think in a household or a relationship chores should be divided equally, like if the wife is cleaning, the man should cook or like, both can clean the house and it will be faster.

Anne with an e was the best show I have ever watched, We may never get a Season 4, But that doesn't mean this show should end. This show is something I would want to show my children, And for them to show it to theirs (if they want to have children) I have rewatched this show over and over again. I still cry over scenes now! When this show first got released I watched it thinking it was going to be boring.. But I was wrong! I fell in love by the first episode. Anne inspired me so much. She taught me to be proud of who I am. Thank you Anne
