I really learned a lot in this show and its now my favorite, but they didn't continue it...and im so devastated when i heard the news. It's one of the best, teens this days could learn a lot in this show. Anne With a E is a Masterpiece. The one who wrote it needs a round of applause. i need them to reconsider.
It's a really nice edit 💗. Makes us really feel for women at that time. Not that the same things are not happening again and again in this day and age too but there's a lot more awareness for it now. I love Anne so much for showing empathy to Josie at a time when no one believed the victim. As much as I admire Gilbert, I hate that he just pretended nothing happened at the Barn dance while Anne stood up for her bully immediately. And the fact that no one listened to Anne when she was talking about it but everyone was all ears when Gilbert read the article that Anne wrote. Just goes to show how women are percieved as liars and stupid by other women too even when they are talking about their own experiences and rights. But still I appreciate that he fought for Anne and her beliefs.
Is ANYONE gonna talk about how supportive Gilbert is?! He stood up for Anne even when everyone thought it was her fault! He loved her even when she had that extreme haircut! He was not ashamed to be with her! Think about it! He was willing to give up EVERYTHING for Anne, including calling it quits with Winnifred, because he loved Anne instead. And when he called it quits with Winnifred, he didn’t even know if whether Anne loves him, but he just did it because HE LOVES HER!
this is the only show I have ever seen that actually talks about real and diverse issues in our society and does them right. and with children being at the centerpoint and being the ones to open the adults' eyes to the truth, no less! Anne with an E did not deserve its untimely demise. They could have talked about so many more important things!
Fun facccctt: i know the woman who plays anne, Amybeth McNulty. She is from where I’m from in Ireland and she say to me about her time filming Anne With An E some of these scenes were improv.
I'm so in love with this show and the messages it carries i wish for another season or 2 and maybe me being in it or another show on Netflix manifestation goals
It's extremely wonderful to see how an issue like that was given as much importance n value as it needed to even though Josie Pie wasn't a very important character.
This show is so amazing, it gave me so much inspiration, the guys in the show such as Gilbert made me cry every time they stood up for what’s right, we need more men like them in our society, men that support women rather than tear them down and tell them to shut up
I think it was clever to make billy this toxic masculine character to emphasise the struggles women faced in society from people like him. It's funn that Montgomery made the character of billy one that swooned for anne and wanted to marry her. As nice as that is, i think its clever the series really emphasised challenges in society particularly women's rights and social etiquette aswell as problems concerning segregation among race and religion. Its was very well portrayed even in a modern day show about a story set in a very different era.
im so inlove with this series oh god it just speaks about all the global issues that had been happening centuries ago. im glad i had bumped into this video cause now im going to rewatch it again 🥰
Okay can we sit and talk about how Amybeths (Anne’s) voice got deeper when she confronted Billy about the situation. You can hear it when she said “You shouldn’t have touched her, Billy...” And at 1:58
Even after helping josie, she never connects with in the way all her other friends did. An important thing to remember: Abuse of any kind can be harmful physically or mentally and is not the victim,s fault.
what annoys me so much is that Josie’s mother even after what happened to her daughter she STILL wants her to get Billy BACK he kissed her WITHOUT CONSENT! this is not something that should be normalised. I absolutely love anne for writing that newspaper.
honestly this is just what i needed after having a very draining conversation with a male family member about misogyny and how it is still a very relevant issue (of course he got angry and tried to gaslight me when i calmly tried to explain what being afab is like). this video made me cry (in a good way), thank you so much for making it (and for reminding me how much i love this show)
Okay, I'm just gonna put this out there. Yes, Gilbert is great for standing up for women's rights but I find it extremely annoying that they ignore Anne when she talks about it but listen to him. They only all agree aftet a male explains it. For me this kinda defeats the whole purpose of the message.
Sadly if change was going to happen especially the past… you would need to have at least one person from the opposing/oppressing side to influence their peers of that side.
This just remind me of how much I loved this series. Not like anybody asked but I've always loved Anne of Green Gables media since forever, whether it be the novel, anime adaptations, film adaptations, I've seen it all. But none stood on par with Anne with an E. This is an example of modern adaptations done right. It covers variety of topic of liberty for many group, women, children, and poc. It tackles topic that are sensitive and can be provocative at times with such dignity and respects. Blending their own inerpretation and staying true to the source material. I'll always adore Anne with an E with all my heart. Sad that they had to end abruptly, after many years, still no continuation. But that's alright for me. It already brings such pleasure and experience that I'll never received from any other show

And when he called it quits with Winnifred, he didn’t even know if whether Anne loves him, but he just did it because HE LOVES HER!
this is my favourite video on youtube i always come back to it
Billy Andrews was a bully when he hit Anne in the beginning and he’s a bully when he violated Josie.
Those things are worse than simply bullying though
The same would happen to anne too (from what i've seen)
this is the only show I have ever seen that actually talks about real and diverse issues in our society and does them right. and with children being at the centerpoint and being the ones to open the adults' eyes to the truth, no less! Anne with an E did not deserve its untimely demise. They could have talked about so many more important things!
Piece of art, this storyline was so important
Yet....somehow Riverdale continues and Anne with an E got cancelled.
I KNOW RIGHT
that show is weird. its a weirdo.
The "mother he hurt me." is heart breaking
Fun facccctt: i know the woman who plays anne, Amybeth McNulty. She is from where I’m from in Ireland and she say to me about her time filming Anne With An E some of these scenes were improv.
Aw lucky! I also live in Ireland but I don't think she lives in Dublin lol
@@aang3267 she doesn’t live where i live now but she did before she went into acting
Omg!! Returning to this edit a year later and i'm so happy too see that it got the views is deserves!!
gilbert is so respectful i can’t-
Feminism is not demanding for women to be above all else.
Or for the downfall of man.
It is for the equality and autonomy of all people, everywhere.
I miss this series so much. It was much better than others out there especially on Netflix.
I'm so in love with this show and the messages it carries i wish for another season or 2 and maybe me being in it or another show on Netflix manifestation goals
I badly need S4 of AWAE this quarantine but Netflix- 😭😭😭
Everyone is talking about the characters but can we acknowledge the actual message and how influential this series is.
It's extremely wonderful to see how an issue like that was given as much importance n value as it needed to even though Josie Pie wasn't a very important character.
This show is so amazing, it gave me so much inspiration, the guys in the show such as Gilbert made me cry every time they stood up for what’s right, we need more men like them in our society, men that support women rather than tear them down and tell them to shut up
this made me cry so much. i love this and hate this. i love the message i hate how this is real life
I think it was clever to make billy this toxic masculine character to emphasise the struggles women faced in society from people like him. It's funn that Montgomery made the character of billy one that swooned for anne and wanted to marry her. As nice as that is, i think its clever the series really emphasised challenges in society particularly women's rights and social etiquette aswell as problems concerning segregation among race and religion. Its was very well portrayed even in a modern day show about a story set in a very different era.
anne should become women of the year and this should get more likes
The fact no one forgave, Anne until a man(Gilbert) spoke up for her and they all proved her point
im so inlove with this series oh god it just speaks about all the global issues that had been happening centuries ago. im glad i had bumped into this video cause now im going to rewatch it again 🥰
Honestly of someone did that to one of the people in my friend group even if hate them I would still stand up for them
Can we just take a moment to stan Gilbert Blythe for being the most respectful guy ever
I'm never going to get over the fact this show was cancelled
This show handled all these topics so perfectly. I adore it for this and other important topics that it addresses so wonderfully
Okay can we sit and talk about how Amybeths (Anne’s) voice got deeper when she confronted Billy about the situation. You can hear it when she said
“You shouldn’t have touched her, Billy...”
And at 1:58
Yeah! She's such a great actor
i love this edit, ty for making it. women matter on their own, not in relation to man
The moment you realize that Billy and Prissy are actually siblings in real life👀
really omg
no they arent lmao
Wait what?!?is that true?!?
@@aaminakhan2406 no :')
@@anastasia.00 Oh thank god 😌
Once something like that happens you are never the same. Especially when no one else tries to help you
ok fine i'll rewatch anne with an e again🙄
Even after helping josie, she never connects with in the way all her other friends did. An important thing to remember: Abuse of any kind can be harmful physically or mentally and is not the victim,s fault.
what annoys me so much is that Josie’s mother even after what happened to her daughter she STILL wants her to get Billy BACK he kissed her WITHOUT CONSENT! this is not something that should be normalised. I absolutely love anne for writing that newspaper.
This series has such a strong meaning to it and I love that. It’s so sad that they cancelled the show
can we talk about Prissy’s self development?
honestly this is just what i needed after having a very draining conversation with a male family member about misogyny and how it is still a very relevant issue (of course he got angry and tried to gaslight me when i calmly tried to explain what being afab is like). this video made me cry (in a good way), thank you so much for making it (and for reminding me how much i love this show)
“A skirt is not an invitation” YES SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK👏👏👏
this show is so powerful i cry watching every single episode
ok but they cancel too much shows/movies about the important things in world and they add thos stupid things about relationships and more dumb things
Ikr
So glad we don’t live in a time that’s like this AS much. I feel for the women who had to go through this
I miss anne with an e
this compilation reminds me of why i liked this show so much and i wish they did a season 4
Okay, I'm just gonna put this out there. Yes, Gilbert is great for standing up for women's rights but I find it extremely annoying that they ignore Anne when she talks about it but listen to him. They only all agree aftet a male explains it. For me this kinda defeats the whole purpose of the message.
Sadly if change was going to happen especially the past… you would need to have at least one person from the opposing/oppressing side to influence their peers of that side.
thats the 19th century for you.
It already brings such pleasure and experience that I'll never received from any other show
Prissy in my opinion had the best character development I’ve ever seen
Brb gotta go rewatch Anne with an e
2:13 say it for the people in the back
The fact Netflix cancelled one of the best shows, for a movie with Addison Rae and other tiktok shows/movies
if i ever have a son i’m forcing him to watch this show LMAO
as you should
Even the women were against Josie! Her friends too. Her own mother! This mindset was so wrong, and it's still alive.
This has all taken on new meaning now!!
gilbert is amazing not because he agreed with anne, but because he didn’t disagree with her.
