That moment gets me every time because she starts out so polite and calm, simply trying to explain why she disappears every day but then it's like that one little sentence "There is no colored bathroom" is the crack in the dam and all the frustration and anger comes flooding out.
Love how you involved asian shows and indigenous women as well. The diversity makes it that more devastating, that all women everywhere,no matter where they are ,suffer.
Fist Edit? Oh My God! this is amazing! Absolutely incredible! All this clips fit the song so well! And it is so nice seeing one of these that actually has a decent amount of woc instead of just being or predominantly being white women.
The race doesn’t really matter most of the time as long as the edit is good, as long the primary focus is on the actual character of the women instead of caring so much about race, but it’s amazing either way!
I agree representation is so important. She highlighted not only the problem that woman face in general, but issues that were unique and detrimental to WOC in particular. It was amazing and beyond comforting to watch.
0:23 i didn't expect to see a turkish series. thanks for adding it cause magnificent century is one of my series. it released when i was little, so it reminds me of my childhood :3
I don't need to be a woman to appreciate this banger, do I ? I'm aware when it comes to regular life, I may sometimes lack in certain areas. But I believe in carrying your own weight. And if I ever can't for some reason, I'd rather pay someone to do it or teach me how to, than simply call it love and expect them to do it for free. I just wanna know if I'm a hypocrite for liking this song, when I'm aware I get the prince treatment sometimes.
We really take our lives for granted, we could have easily been born into those times, but thankfully we were not. Women have fought and will always fight for what they deserve. Even when they get tortured they never back down. I know men go through the same type of stuff, but this video is about women. Women have been locked away, killed, and called crazy for just having their own likes and opinions. Even when women got what they wanted people still treated them differently. Then and now. I love watching these videos because I'm like "damn, that could have been me." Unfortunately some people still believe unmarried women are sinful, but they do not matter in the grand scheme of things.
Really well done! Some of the audio is a little funky, but it’s overall great! I just got don’t rewatching Shadow and Bone this evening and I was happy when Genya got a few clips in here! She deserves it!
If this is your first edit, I have to be the queen of england. You've done an amazing job and I know it sounds cheezy as all get out but you brought tears to my eyes. These clips are already full of feminine rage and strong emotion, and you knew exactly how to elevate it and make it stronger! Keep going! You will definitely go places if you do!
I love how much they included awae and bridgerton. Truly two of my favorite shows give some amazing themes that are often overlooked, period dramas have some great themes when it comes to feminism and and equality 🙌
hteres alot of things perfect about this, the lines, the pacing, but what I think is my absolute favourite is how diverse the examples are like-you really used so many different kinds of media shows and movies and it all works PERFECTLY
Wow! This is an amazing edit I love it. The pacing the clips the music everything was spectacular. I feel some of these things still apply to life nowadays. I mean it’s changing but not as much. When we are young, (us girls) are taught to play with dolls, play house, have our own little mini kitchens because that is the kind of toys people get us. When we are older we start to get insecure and put on make up not because we want the attention but because we are human and we deserve compliments not backhands to the face. When we are older we meet someone. We settle down and have kids. Only for our husbands to disrespect us and look down on us. Those “games” we used to play as kids are now what we do for the rest of our life. Boys play cars, football, cards and all these things. You will never see them ask for a kitchen set. Or this or that. But that is just the way we are raised.

@@martam727thank you. Because this song is a true banger. And while I don't suffer as much, I do feel empathy towards the anger represented here, because I do know how it feels to feel silenced.
The pain of being at the bottom of the hierarchy is universal. poor people ,victims of racism, workers ,animals (if they had enough awareness) , passive homosexuals and trans people have more potential to empathize with women. Because they are all victims of the same system and hierarchy. But of course, if you were a white, rich, heterosexual man, you could still empathize with women, because you're human.
Hey op, I love this song for so many reasons, but the fact you chose to make such a wonderful video that included multipile examples of non-white women and some of the many ways they are held down or have been held down through history, absolutely struck a chord. You chose some fantastic media to draw upon to lay bare such a wonderul narrative of opression, and made the effort to look at examples of black and indigionous women too. Thank you

I feel like this video represents the root of female rage especially for women of color and even the high in power queens were just told to bear sons cause that's all they were good for! 🤮 If men asks why were angry have them watch this video. 🥰
I dont know most of these shows (i could pick out i think The Tudors) but i wonder how often women would do something like kick their bed or something when they were alone because the rage they felt was so strong it had to come out somehow. We always assume women in history just calmly accepted their state in life, their status to whichever man they belonged to (father, husband, etc), but i dont think they did. I always think its a shame that, even now, women who went through shit when they were younger use the excuse 'well i went through it, so she should have to as well, thats just how it is' for their daughters, when they know they wished for their own mothers to help them be free, to not sell them off, use them to make alliances or to make their family prosper. And i really really hate that we didnt know until relatively recently in history that you not 'bearing a male heir' all came down to the mans 'contribution' and was not at all the womens 'fault'.
It always nice watching movies like this but the one thing I have learnt over time women are the ones that force other women to belittle themselves. Instead of trying to bring forth change they remind the girls to give forth babies, to stay quiet, to obey. Women that stand for themselves made men obey and this women are the ones to help other women stand on their own two feet. But jealousy is the seed that a woman plants and that tree blooms flowers in the other generations. The need of wanting others to taste the same pain is what has created the generation we term as the patriarchy. Quote a king rides on a horse only when it chooses to be tame, a horse is only tame when it's broken but a horse running wild and free even in shackles can never be broken.

Why are you hanging on so tight
To the rope that I'm hanging from?
Off this island, this was an escape plan (this was an escape plan)
Carefully timed it, so let me go
And dive into the waves below
Who tends the orchards? Who fixes up the gables?
Emotional torture from the head of your high table
Who fetches the water from the rocky mountain spring?
And walk back down again to feel your words and their sharp sting
And I'm getting fucking tired
The capillaries in my eyes are bursting
If our love died, would that be the worst thing?
For somebody I thought was my saviour
You sure make me do a whole lot of labour
The calloused skin on my hands is cracking
If our love ended, would that be a bad thing?
And the silence haunts our bed chamber
You make me do too much labour
You make me do too much labour
Apologies from my tongue, and never yours
Busy lapping from flowing cup and stabbing with your fork
I know you're a smart man (I know you're a smart man), and weaponise
The false incompetence, it's dominance under a guise
If we had a daughter, I'd watch and could not save her
The emotional torture, from the head of your high table
She'd do what you taught her, she'd meet the same cruel fate
So now I've gotta run, so I can undo this mistake
At least I've gotta try
