It bothers me immensely that I when I finally decide to get a story written, there will be publishers ready and waiting to get me started, but my much more talented friends will have to keep searching for takers just because I have chromosomes/body parts they don’t. It would be like picking a grey racehorse even though he’s slower because “there’s too many bays.” I don’t want what is essentially social justice charity, I want to know that my work stands on its own merits.
Self publish might the only way to know your true skills these days.
(Of course that then requires marketing skills, not just writing talent)
If it makes you feel better, this day and age I just assume anything written by a woman or a "woman" is going to be absolute garbage that only exists because "diversity".
You've never engaged with the publishing industry and it shows.
Your gender isn't going to be the boost you think it is. Some agents (and you will be engaging with agents rather than publishers) are more open to minority voices but all of that is secondary to what they think is marketable.
Write first, then rewrite, then rewrite again then get someone else to read it, then rewrite, then learn how to put together a query then prepare for a lot of rejection.
Most books written will never be published.

All that unconscious bias training actually does is create a seed of actual dislike and distrust against the "protected" groups that the training is trying to "fix".
Correct.
When they don't really need the help, those protected groups generate plenty of dislike and distrust all on their own.
All you do when you accept unconcious bias training, is accepting them calling you a bigot or a racist. There is no evidence that this sort of training ever works at all too. This woke shit is cancer.

The 40k setting is supposed to be a horrible place to live. I don't think they understand forcing "diversity™" is not going to send the same message they're intending.
We might need to watch Clockwork Orange if you wonder how those unconscious bias training struggle sessions look like.

Just when I could forget some crimes they committed against us... they do this...
NU-40K is dead in our local area. we have a large group that still plays 5th ed core rules 40K and we are having a blast (and saving a ton of money). but you are right, there are a ton of other games out there you could be playing. the other hotness in our local game scene is MCP, heavy gear, classic battle tech, flames of war, infinity, victory at sea, as for dead games from time to time we still play-DUST 1947, warmachine MKIII, B5 wars, WHFB, epic 40K, battle fleet gothic and the like.
Fuck yeah, I love Heavy Gear, awesome game.
Disregarding GW's politics they're game system is just bad in my humble opinion. Battletech (which is my game of choice) gets called rules heavy but with a few exceptions the rules feel fair. I've yet to play a game of Battletech that I've felt the outcome was BS. Can't say the same for 40k.
I'm sure that a bunch of dudes in dresses/wigs will be very excited for the next wave of Stormcast Eternals "women" they can project themselves onto. I can hardly blame them, considering that those models are the only kind of women they can touch without having to use intimidation or outright physical force.

Soy consumers will eat up whatever GW reddeems onto their plate. Like Disney, they'll end up with a small but vocal consumerbase, but loose the old timers. A soulless, propped up and sad state of franchise undeath.

No one hates GW more than GW fans. They will complain about GW than actually play and support games that arent space marine land.
40k was turning into a cultural phenomenon and then GW killed all the hype by shutting down all those fan animation series. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
We'd probably have 2-3 more Astartes animations by now.
The whole animation drama was a bunch of BS the community cooked up. TTS seemed to have used to to drop the series and move on to other things without backlash. Because if they were scared off and afraid of getting sued they would have taken down everything. The community is the one who harassed SODAZ into quitting.
And why sodaz quit in first place?
