We have PhoHolic here in Garden Grove, same exact rib bone and delicious broth. It's good because of the darn sugar and msg. I never add sugar or msg for my home made Pho. I never add hosin or sriracha into my pho, those are condiments to dip your meats into lol...I only squeeze lemon or lime into my broth, that is it. Thanks for sharing that salty lemonade story, that was special 👍
Oohh niice, I like the name PhoHolic lol. I don't use msg or sugar either, but I may start using rock sugar. My brother in law uses that and wow, his broth is one of the best I've ever had. I think that is the proper way to eat pho, without sriracha and hoisin but I've never had pho like that until I ate at Yummy Pho. I'm a fake Vietnamese LOL. Have you had that salty lemonade before? If not, you should try it the next time you go to PhoHolic🙃
Rock sugar and MSG are their secret weapons for sure. Both are bad for your body, so I avoid all sugars now if I can. They sell the pho mix in a big container for many years , it comes with the herb bag too. Taste really good, I used to make pho with it and it was really good. Only once on a while lol...I'll give that salty lemonade a little sip next time I get a chance. @@HongtheFoodie
This comment never went through, I'm so sorry I'm barely seeing it right now. Aw man, rock sugar is bad for you too??! Darn. I feel like everything is bad for you nowadays, the question is what is not bad that we can eat lol. Ooh yes they sell the pho broth already ready as well. You just have to add water to it, which is so convenient and we prefer to do it that way to save time now. Making it from scratch takes hours, ain't nobody got time for that lol
@@HongtheFoodie I used to buy that Pho kit, even Costco used to carry it. That paste that comes in the plastic jar and spices in the packet. I had to stop using it, so much salt ,preservatives, msg in that thing. Gave my a headache when I ate it lol...
@@brucewayne2773 Ooh I have never seen that paste in the jar that you're talking about. Try the one I'm talking about, it's the mama La pho concentrate. Omgosh I can't believe it had so many preservatives, salt, & msg that it gave you a headache. That's crazy!!! I'm getting a headache just thinking about it lol

I have a big appitite, but as you mentioned 2 lbs of meat and 2 lbs of noodles is a lot to eat at one time. I am in agreement with you that it is like a heart attack waiting to happen. In the same way, I would not attempt running like you do. Thanks, but no thanks. I will leave it to the professionals...LOL

Great. Now I want pho. I always add hoisin and sriracha. Never had it without. And bring a pair of scissors to cut the noodles down so I can digest better without getting full too fast. 😂
I've always added hoisin and sriracha too. I can't believe I didn't that day. The broth is worth trying! And ooh that's smart with the scissor thing...cause pho is super filling!!

I love Bubble Waffles. I like it with Vanilla Icecream.
Hmm I would give it a 7.5/10 but if I had to give a solid number, I'd round up to an 8/10 lol. Very nice broth, noodles not al dente but not soft or mushy (I can't stand overcooked noodles), meats were pretty decent overall (for pho). All in all, pretty good bowl of pho if you ask me lol. I don't think the beef rib is worth it, but if it's your first time I would get it just to try you know, otherwise you'll regret it and keep thinking about it all day, or is that just me? lol. I tried the bubble waffles at Bubble Egg before (same plaza) but it didn't taste like Hong Kong style to me, it had the same taste as a regular waffle. So if you go to Katy Asia Town, go to Happy Lemon for their bubble waffles lol. They are addictively good. Don't forget the salted cheese dip. People also like the taro dip, which is pretty good too. Vanilla icecream sounds really good with bubble waffles...that's the flavor I would get too! Unless they had like salted caramel or something cheesecake icecream. Then I would be getting 3 scoops of icecream lmao!
