I live in the neighborhood and have been a few times. Everything is really good. It’s not cheap but high quality and huge portions. The owner is super friendly along with the staff. Great fun place and awesome dining experience. Owner has a few locations and a cheaper sister restaurant called Ben Tre
Definitely a place to splurge on once in a while- a lot of these dishes I feel can be shared since the portions are so big lol like that lobster pho can be shared between two people xD at that point I think it’s worth the price but it’s gonna be hard not ordering everything while you’re there
@@chenglim6494 most dishes YES! Definitely worth it. The lobster pho, should be enjoyed at least once. After that, then it's up to you to decide if it's worth it.
Tweh, this is why i suggest before being born EAT AS MANY HEALTHY FOOD AS YOU CAN in Spirit Realm before born!!! So this way you will have a Big & Strong Appetite!!!
With how expensive things are now, I don't think I will be able to afford any of the meal items Mikey was eating. Oiy, it'll be Ramen noodles tonight, again.
Yup ... seafood, steak, bone marrow, pate? All located in a restaurant in San Francisco? I won't be able to afford that lol I'll just have to vicariously live through Mikey eating it while I eat some cheap pizza.
That was a lot of delicious food you got! But, did you finish all of it because that was a lot! Everything looks delicious and amazing! Thx for sharing!
I just went to this restaurant's website - Mike spent hundreds of dollars on this food (assuming it wasn't on the house for this promo). Those four prawns alone were $23 each ($92). The "Pho-zilla" (the one with lobster and the ribs) is $100. Most of the other dishes aren't even on the menu. Definitely not the giant dinosaur bone pho at the beginning or the giant rib banh mi. People are going to show up at that restaurant and be disappointed when they can't get half the items shown. I think they were just going all-out to impress Mike (something I'd be tempted to do), without thinking of what might happen after.
i'm not mad if Mikey got the food on the house and uses his platform to earn some cheddar. Man's got bills. Regardless, I wish he had mentioned the prices of each dish anyway like he normally does in his reviews and I agree, it would be a bummer if someone wanted to order these dishes and they were not available.
The dinosaur bones at the beginning are on the "full bar" menu. Mike just didn't do the shot it comes with since he doesn't drink alcohol. I was not expecting to find that there but since everyone is complaining "it's not on the menu"... yes it is 😂
Those prawns alone according to the website are $23 each! And he had 4. Didn't even see the broth with the marrow bones on the menu. And the BÒ NÉ didn't come with the bone marrow either. The last monster dish is $100.
Everything there looked amazing, but I wish each dish wasn't made to serve 2-4 people! I guess this is why you'd want to go with a group of people and eat it family-style.
I was just in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. I wish I had known about this place. The foods look amazing. I will definitely go there for a meal when I'm back in town.
Went there not worth it if ur going for pho broth flavor or noodles 6.5/10 but the meat overall was good. Also had the snails 10/10 for appetizers. Overall if u want good pho this isn’t the place😅
Ok great, but the size of the servings, expense of ingredients in each dish is really American, not Viet, just over the top and un necessary, one could even say gouache. The focus blurred by a lack of civilisation and restraint so evident in Vietnam. Knowing when to stop is the key to food greatness.
u should use malaysia style to eat that bone marrow,, put the broth into the bone marrow,, and use a little bit soy sauce and if u have sambal use a little of it,,, or u can change with white pepper.,, we call the bone marrow bone 'sup gearbox'
@@maskofdj Same here. Just made a standalone comment about it. Obviously they were just schmoozing him for the publicity. It'll backfire when people go in looking for the bone-marrow-with-boba-straws-in--broth or the rib banh mi, neither of which is anywhere on the menu.
Mike..... you dropped the ball buddy!!! LOL 😛..... you should have shoved some of those white noodles into the prawn heads to soak up the head butter first!!!! 😁
Hi, the Vietnamese place is in San Mateo, which is 25 minutes south of San Francisco. Would be nice if you were clear on that. San Mateo has many great restaurants without all the crime of The City
I'm glad there's a market. for high end Vietnamese food nowadays. I lived a couple blocks from there when I was in college. Neighborhood has not changed much, other than presumably gotten more expensive. A bowl of pho then was like 4 bucks.
Oh, I enjoy those too!! Banh Mi is my all-time favorite sandwich. Fresh, well-made pho, mmm!!😋 I miss good Vietnamese food. Then again, I have yet to try several of their other dishes. Bone marrow definitely makes my list of foods to try someday.

What happened to you putting the price tags on each items?
Agreed 💯💯💯👍
I've been to Gao a few times. The lobster pho is $100. Everything else is from $30-$40. The prawns are ordered by the pair.
Is it worth it?

Man the fact that he’s able to scarf all this down without a problem, I wish I had that appetite 😩😩

Everything at that restaurant looked AMAZING! 🤤
Um sir , thats a steel pan . 4:15
I can't even finish a normal sized ramen bowl if I order gyoza on the side. Respect for Mike's appetite
I love Banh Mi 😋

I agree with you 100%
Someone else mentioned those items ARE on the menu, it’s in the “full bar” section and not the main menu
@@scandisnowgirl3696 I see the marrow shot, but I still haven't found the banh mi.

Woww, yea marrow is one of those, "I wish I could eat at all times" kind of things, especially that size, easy to get every last bit!

Where did you get that shot of the street where shops are open and no homeless people on the street?
I’d be mad that dude squeezed all my yolk out. 😅
The portion sizes are insane! I would dive headlong into that beef, lobster pho and tendon is my absolute favorite!!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤤🤤🤤🤤
6:25 that poor piece of fallen marrow
Always wonder, do you take home the leftovers?
WOW, jus WOW 😮🤤!!!!!

That marrow bowl is giving Flintstone’s vibes. 😂 🍖 🍖
That restaurant with the bone marrow looks so AMAZING 👏 😍
How much did your whole meal cost if you don’t mind me asking?
Those prawns alone according to the website are $23 each! And he had 4. Didn't even see the broth with the marrow bones on the menu. And the BÒ NÉ didn't come with the bone marrow either. The last monster dish is $100.
I'm guessing $350???
The rest is a must tey 1x basically, up to you afterwards.. id try all other aside pho ..just me
Those giant prawns looked amazing!!!
Those are definitely whopper-sized prawns. Seafood lovers, including me, will have their mouths watering.🍤😋😍🤩

The 1 and only Chef Gao! Almost as famous as you Mikey!. I definitely want to try that place. FKN Deliciousness (Calvin Bui) put me on!
3:04 did he say oyster chicken
sauce?
No lol. He said a little extra ginger sauce on the side
That looks like one of the best places - I want to fly there now! Yumm -
I went to their website, it isn't cheap. It does look good, however.
Go to the San Mateo location. Less chance of getting robbed.
I was just in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. I wish I had known about this place. The foods look amazing. I will definitely go there for a meal when I'm back in town.
This food!!
What did that meal cost? Like $1000?
Looks like at least 700 to me. Can feed around 5-7 ppl lol
The people working at this restaurant must be having so much fun

He went to the SF one, not the San Mateo one. There’s two locations and both are equally good. Stop being overly paranoid.
Avoid this place at all cost. This place isn't worth the price and the food is subpar.
mikey ate 5 dishes by himself lolz..thats a family of 5 dinner for all! my mom can't even eat a small bowl of pho!
A straw in the bone marrow
This doesn't seem normal. Like not a meal. Too much Mikey!
