Ewan McGregor is one of the greatest decisions George Lucas ever made for the Star Wars franchise, and we don’t deserve him. I can’t wait for Kenobi on Disney+.

The man had such a presence of distinction and nobility; when he spoke he commanded such respect and admiration. I remember watching the bonus extras of The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit where Peter Jackson said of him that whenever he was on set taking a break, everyone stopped filming to listen to his stories and what he had to say whilst he drank his tea. In every interview you saw him give, it feels like an address by a King. Extremely well read, articulate and deeply passionate of every role he took, he emanated pure class and genius. He was one of the most gifted, and shall ever remain one of my absolute favourite actors of all time! R.I.P Sir Christopher, and thank you for your brilliance!

They gave so much respect and consideration to the original trilogy and actors throughout the making of the prequels. Something the sequel trilogy failed considerably.
Something that I hope all fans are regretting to this day. Bashing the prequels that is.

@@spicysnowman8886 same thing that's been happening since the prequels. There is so much hate coming from the star wars community that it's absolutely ridiculous. It's uncalled for, outrageous and unfair if you will. People are saying that disney has ruined everything with every little thing that happened in the sequels. Solely focusing on negatives rather than positives, hating on actors and adult individuals acting like children. The movies didn't reach expectations for many because it would have been impossible in a divided community as this one. What they did do was explore new grounds with new force powers, character arcs and themes and connecting them tp the prequels and originals. I suppose disney brought balance to the community, with 50% hating and 50% praising. Ironic.

Ewan McGregor is absolutely amazing as a younger Obi-Wan. I really appreciate how both he and Hayden tried to match up with the Vader and Kenobi in the original trilogy with their accents.
Ewan is the perfect example of what acting should be. The dude is a legend. Absolute dedication and passion.

I'm excited for the Obi-Wan mini series, because it sort of feels like the continuation of the prequels. Unfortunately, I was not born in time to watch them in theatures, but I am old enough that I saw them when they were new movies, so I really love them.

i loved the prequels. they were just ahead of time. i was in 8th grade went to denver w my dad to the first celebration. will never forget Anthony Daniels putting a mic to my mouth and myself asking Ray Park on stage how long it took to sweat the paint to which he then answered making the crowd bust out laughing. Won't ever forget when they played the trailer for the first time and then everyone cheered for one more time. I was a huge Shallow Grave/ A Life Less Ordinary fan so I was stoked for Ewan. Wish I could rewind time.

I like how while everyone considers Obi-Wan as a father figure to the problem- only George considers him the older brother (who took the mentor role when the father died) - more similar to how I think Anakin viewed Obi Wan when Qui Gon died
Yeah, Filoni talked about this, that Anakin wanted a father and Obi-Wan was willing to be a brother. Consider how during Clones Anakin talks about Obi-Wan being like his father, but during the trilogy we only hear Obi saying Anakin is his brother.
I have so much respect for Ewan and Alec they both made obi-wan kenobi my favorite characters

George Lucas Star Wars which includes the OT and PT trilogies are the only movies in the franchise that matter to me. Ewan McGregor was a perfect casting choice as Obi Wan.

Good retconning can happen I mean look at near the end of Season 7 of Clone Wars. They made some changes of events from the Ahsoka Novel in a good way. Im hopefuly to hear Liam Neeson’s voice.

6:14 The deleted Obi-Wan/Padme scene--the visit Padme later mentions when Anakin senses Obi-Wan was in the apartment. The choice to delete this moment but still refer to it is interesting. It puts the viewer in Anakin's POV, having to wonder exactly what has happened between Padme and Obi-Wan at a time when Anakin already senses (correctly) that multiple parties are plotting behind his back and lines of good and evil are getting confusing.

I'd love if they made the obi wan series R rated
I think (or I hope) the Kenobi series is more of a character study than an action series. All making it R-rated would do is close it off to younger fans of Obi-wan. That said, I certainly don't want it to be light-hearted, I want to have darker moments like hallucinations of Anakin or Clone Wars flashbacks or whatever, but Star Wars was always meant to appeal to kids as much as adults

This was a great break down. I love the footage. I am more fascinated by the Star Wars story more now than ever. I've been a huge fan already. It was one of my first movies, if not the first in the theater. The story behind everything, effort made to capture the characters, it's amazing. I don't want to leave it on a negative note, but I think that the elements of the prequels that are annoying an often horrendous, took away from something that could have been completely brilliant. I feel lucky to see it continued on and done right. They must know that the fans will not be able to handle this in just 6 episodes. The guys are still young, there's many more stories that can be told and I've never seen two actors so eager to reprise their roles to further the story on. So many stars have to be practically begged and be paid a King's ransom to reprise their roles. These two want it.

I just wanted to point out something awesome. So you talk about the kenobi show, how we'll probably see a obi-wan that's wrestling with and coming to terms with everything that happened... Well... What if... We see him watching over luke throughout the show, and maybe something happens, he witnesses some evidence of luke being force sensitive. Maybe reaches for an out of reach hydrospanner without looking, and it slides those few inches across the table into his hand. Luke completely unaware of it happening. Then we see a shift in obi-wan's morale, having just seen for himself "a new hope" for the force.

From the moment I saw the ending of the Twin Suns episode with Obi-Wan looking at luke run from a distance I thought to myself this would be the perfect place to start an Obi-Wan movie/series. But I am sure that there is much story before the final duel between Maul and Obi-Wan as well that all of us would like to see.
