Super interesting concept, however this method of importing doesn't create a 1:1 copy of the registry, since it doesn't delete keys. Anything 10 removed from 7 is still there in the 7 vm and anything 10 added from 7 is not removed in the 10 vm. An effective way to do this would be to copy the registry hive files themselves

One problem I see is that some registry keys need Trusted Installer permission to replace them. And some might even be protected by kernel. So by importing registry like that you create broken state where some keys are replaced and some that are protected will still have their original values. This is mixing of registries, not swapping. It would be interesting to see you boot with linux live cd and swap the registry files instead. This way since windows is not currently running you get complete replacement together with complete removal of old keys.

@@hecker4050 I think it isn't a good idea to port the official Aero from Windows 7 since Windows 10 would become very buggy. But there are some good thirdy party options available. You can patch your system to support more themes like for example an sweet theme like you would find on kde in Linux or Aero themes in your case. You can manually find one and install it. Or to make it easier and better, use the 21h2to7 transformation pack which is very accurate to the real Windows 7. You can use Revert8Plus too. You can do your research on the options and choose the one you prefer. I wont recommend installing an complete Windows mod that comes with an iso to reinstall Windows since those can break and you don't know what the person did with the Windows install. I hope this help!
