While congratulating the 11x time Champ and all other athletes who did awesome and the entire team Iceland Strongman fraternity for an amazingly well organized competition, I wanted to state some facts on how great Hafthor is when it comes to anything related to weight tossing. And during this SMOE prep he unofficially cleared the current WR height twice with an even heavier 15.5 kg (34 lb) keg tossing it over 7.80 metres (25 ft 7 in) and 8.00 metres (26 ft 3 in)._ *I'm 100% certain that at SMOE, Hafthor will break this WR also, and claim every single max height or max weight tossing WR known to Strongman. A nice little warm-up for SMOE. So glad you got through it without any injuries and even anything that might be nagging (as you stated). It is setting up for you to show the world who is truly the strongest. SMOE is not only bigger and heavier than WSM (or any other show/contest), it has the line-up that proves for anyone that wins they are the King of Strength World period! You can do this brother.
The Icelanders must adore you, Haftor. You are the local sight to be seen, and a pride of the nation of strongmen. And tourists coming for the mountain are not going to Hvannadalshnjúkur.
If there ever was a perfect analogy for sleepwalking across the finish line... and that's saying something, because there are some seriously good strongmen there. Fantastic job by everyone.
Iceland have won the World´s strongest man 9 times. Jón Páll and Magnus Ver both had a decade where they dominated the world strongest man competition. Even though I believe Hafþór is the strongest person to ever walk this earth he never really dominated the world strongest man competition like those who came before him.
@@hgbbccchcccvvb8226, frankly, if Kristian or Eythor were back, I can’t see Godzilla or Dennis beating them. Amazing job! Congratulations, champ! How's competing - and thereby rendering winning absolutely impossible for anyone else - giving back to the athletes? :P
It seems many of these guys pick p the Husafell wrong. They should try and throw it up when standing to get a lower and better arm/hand position, they end up with the stone quite low and hanging on with their fingers. Jonsson did it right and got 3 laps. Guudfinsson too. Of course Thor does it right :)
@@Slaskhaskactually the question is legit and that answer isn't too convincing. Following the competitor made sense when it was for competitor safety, but the guy following was a really strong person too, so that he could catch a competitor falling back (I remember Yuko Ahola being the 'safety guy' in mid-2000 WSM).
