@@mycroidalmycroidal That wouldn't be a fair scoring system though. If you are the best at half the lifts but botched the others hard, and another guy (Mitchell) trailed your ass in all your best lifts and smoked you in the other half, they have greater overall strength.
That would be like saying a powerlifter with a 300 bench, 400 squat, and 400 deadlift is stronger than a powerlifter with a 295 bench, 395 squat, and 500 deadlift. The second guy has nearly 100 lbs on his total, making him much stronger despite only technically being stronger in one lift. In a competition the second lifter scores a higher total and wins as they should.

I like Thor, and think he is a very powerful competitor. But to dismiss what mitch has done, in the little amount of time he has done it in, is crazy. Thor has the advantage in being able to put mass on to help with these events, but mitch is doing it all with a much smaller frame which just makes it more impressive. Not saying Thor can't improve, but mitch will be improving aswell considering he has been doing this for like 4 or 5 years? Thor has been at it for 10 or more.

I have actually come across Thor at Keflavik airport in Iceland. I'm in the tax free shop picking up some munchies for at the hotel when there's a tattooed mountain walking by. It's Thor [and really, how many guys like him are out there?] I was suitably impressed. I'm not on the lighter side of the spectrum but if you look at how much mass this man can displace, he could carry me around on his back walking through the store and he'd forget I was there. He's one seriously impressive dude and he's not even trying to intimidate people, that's just him busy with the business of the moment.

Stoltman failing on the stones and the other guy attempting to beat you in the deadlift, gifted Hooper points. Your logs results was obviously not great, you got completely scammed on the 3rd dumbbell and Hooper was squatting insanely high (not his fault though, the machine was set like it was). Great post-surgery progress, look forward to seeing your next event!

Yeah the squat event was a disgrace, with Hooper winning by doing half reps. And kind of weird to think that if it was an event with just Thor and Hooper, Thor would've won. It is what it is.

@@LiftingBoomer87 i like and dislike it, for example if one athlete is completly dominant in 1 event over everyone else he still only gets 1 point over second place, but if alot of athletes are really close, you could be 5th and still just being slightly worst than 1st place, but u would lose 5 points to the leader.
I understand its rly dificult to make a completly fair system and right now the points system is not bad, but it is not perfect either. For example in Decathlon the points system is more fair, but we cnat use it for strongman, since there are way too many diferent type of events

@@wolololer I think it promotes just having no weaknesses, and also the guys who are strong at everything get the most points. Mitch’s worst event for example was 4th place, everything else was 1-3, that means he’s the most well rounded out of everyone
