  • I have two calipers on my MK6 VW GTI that are starting to seize up on me (one in front and one in rear). I've decided to replace all four calipers at once rather than just the two that are seizing up. In this video, I will be documenting the removal and replacement the front caliper. The rear caliper removal/replacement will be a separate video.

Excellent video! I've also got a mk6 GTI. I've done brake fluid flushes on my prior cars (BMW Z3, Toyota Tercel) with a pressure bleeder, and it's always been really easy. Quick, and a noticeable improved firmness in brake pedal feel afterwards. However on my mk6, the pedal felt exactly the same after as before. So I've been never replaced it again. So your video is a nice wake up call for me.
Also, that other commenters is wrong and you're right, re: greasing caliper slide pins. Cheers!

Thank you! I'll also be posting a video of me bleeding the whole system soon (not my next video but probably the one after).

Don't lube pivot pins, it wasn't designed for that

I assume you mean the 2 guide pins (or slide pins, as some people call them). I don't believe you're correct on that. Are you sure?
