Billy ... you have a. wonderful keen observing eye. It's a pleasure to see things from your POV, things you notice but most of the world walks by. Also great to hear your way of thinking / approaching things.
Yeah man his photos are so damn good, he’s very skilled with his cameras and his eye is insane! Love his editing style it really ties his frames together
Most of the really good photographers have a solid background in some form of visual arts. Photography is ultimately an extension of the visual artistry that has come before it. Billy Dinh’s quick proficiency is yet another example of this.
He may not have been a long time photographer but he's been an artist for a long time :) You should check out his illustrations. If you can still find them.
Billy is THE photgrapher I look up to. Absolutely love his photos, super excited for this episode! edit: shocked to hear he doesn’t do this full time yet!
He is really good. His composition is really good and his pictures have a story. So many NY photographers just take pictures of people walking on the sidewalk and they think it s great street photography. Billy's pics are different. They are relevant and not too crowded.
Easily one of my favorite photographers right now. Billy's ability to capture a moment and a subject that tells a story is incredible. And to hear he's only been shooting for 5 YEARS?? INSANITY..... great episode.
Billy Dinh is truly an exceptional talent and an asset to street photography. It's unbelievable what kind of eye he has and how he suddenly takes advantage of the situation. One of the best photographers of our time.
I been following Billydee for a few years, and his photos are amazing! He’s on his own lane. And to see how sweet and humble he is, makes me a bigger fan of his.
What a genuine and honest person. I dont like cocky photographers and this guy is the real deal. His photography is very unique and he comes across as a good person.
Really cool. The one thing this guy has a leg up on is foreground to background stacking and controlling visual chaos. Photos are so dense and rich. Almost a little overwhelming sometimes, but his subject matter seems to bring it back to curiousity. Hope this guy achieves whatever he desires. Photo book material for sure. I think he is smart to keep his 9-5, because his work is so stylized, I don't think he'd want to take commissioned work on much. Bravo!
Holy shit dudes only been photographing for 5 years and these are one of the best street photos ive ever seen! Also love how confident he is in the way he carries himself and takes photos. I wanna be like that one day
Thank you Paulie for introducing us to Billy Dinh, "legend" of the future. Only 5 years and he already mastered multilayered compositions, painting with light and he is already level with his 5 favourite "legend" photographers.
@@Daniel_Zalman NO, If you compare the size of the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 35mm f2.8 and a 55mm 1.8, you will see the difference. The 35mm is the small lens that he uses in the video.
I met Billy Dee randomly one day walking around Chinatown and we got to walking around and talking photography. He such an awesome human and really enjoys what he does! Glad he’s getting a walkie talkie! Billy needs a exhibition asap!
Canadian Photographer here; I totally felt that moment of 'communities who don't support each other' It seems like there's a certain level of gatekeeping, because everyone is afraid of someone else's growth, and they're afraid of that. I just wanna hang out, and shoot with other people, and learn about them, and we're slowly getting some traction there. Love this Walkie Talkie, and Paulie B, thank you for sharing all of these great artists we might not see without this platform.
It's so fun that people swear to analogue, and then this guy comes with his VERY digital camera and does it just as good, if not better! With the prices and this inspiration, I am not giving any more money to the film hustlers ;D
Two things I learned watching today's video: 1) attitude has a lot to do with taking good photos because attitude is part of your creative side. 2) Learn how to read the moment. Anticipate the shot. It won't always be what you want, but doing something is better than not doing anything and wishing you did!
Insane stuff. Usually people with his editing style lack substance in their photos and rely on heavy editing for visual interest but he really brings the full package.
Yesss!! This is the episode I never knew I needed. Been following Billy for quite some time over on Instagram. His photos never fail to stop me mid scroll 🤓.
I already knew him from Instagram, really didn't imagine he would be so down to Earth and such a nice guy. That's really amazing to see such a talented person being nice too.
14:50 is right on point! I love my dream job. And by having that job that I love, it also forces me to find a balance to find time for my own personal photography. And I can edit my photos whenever I feel like it, not within a deadline.
I was impressed by his photography!!! He is really much better than a lot of photographers, seen in this channel, that use Leicas just thinking that the M camera will magically produce better pictures. Yes, the tool is important, but at the end, it is the person behind the lens that still makes the difference. Another great Walkie Talkie. Thanks for sharing!
I've been following him on instagram for so long now, and truly its nice to know that he has a beautiful personality that suits his work. I love an artist who do less spraying and more composition! Total respect for him putting in the work with his full time. Beautiful episode Paulie
I think that was the best WT I've seen so far. Loved how he speaks about photography and what he does. Great to see him engaging with the people he meets. Genuine. Billies images are great with depth and personality. I'm off to Insta as soon as I finish writing this to check his profile. Bravo Paulie...
It is good to see that Billy considered visiting lots of places including Turkey and not just Istanbul in Turkey, he also went to one of the authentic, less-known city Mardin. I see often American photographers mostly picturing NYC or India, sometimes Africa or Cuba but there are lots of gems such as places like Turkey in terms of street photography. Very impressive episode btw.. Thanks to Paulie to share those people with us.
Loved this episode! Literally just came across his Instagram which lead me here and I’m now a big fan! his photography feels very poetic to me. What he captures has so much life in it and if a picture is worth a thousand words - his definitely embodies this! 👏🏻👌🏼 thanks for the walkie talkie!
every time I look at his photos, I have the thought that not billy himself looks for all these cool angles and compositions, but as if the world itself is posing for him. his photos live on their own. it would take a huge courage for an anxious person like me to photograph in crowded places especially a certain person and i admire how billy does it with no big effort. i hope to come to this someday too
Thanks so much for having me on Paulie. It's such an honor! 🎉
Please make videos (pov street photography for example) you’re incredible!!

Well done, Billy! ❤
Really nice job, Billy!
🐐
His photos are insanely good
I know right after 2-3 photo drops here I instantly went to his instagram
One of the best on this channel I’ve seen, and like everyone is amazing.
its mindblowing
and thats an understatement
Yeah man his photos are so damn good, he’s very skilled with his cameras and his eye is insane! Love his editing style it really ties his frames together
This guy has the best pictures I’ve seen on a Walkie Talkie. Amazing compositions.
He’s only been doing it for 5 years? That’s insane, he’s one of the best. Great ep.
not even full time as well!
Most of the really good photographers have a solid background in some form of visual arts. Photography is ultimately an extension of the visual artistry that has come before it. Billy Dinh’s quick proficiency is yet another example of this.
I couldn’t agree more.
He may not have been a long time photographer but he's been an artist for a long time :) You should check out his illustrations. If you can still find them.
Will do

Besides his amazing work and talent, I love how he really engages with his supporters on social media! So great to see him on your channel!
His work is crazy good, the photos are like in the Magnum class standards.
Billy Dinh is truly an exceptional talent and an asset to street photography. It's unbelievable what kind of eye he has and how he suddenly takes advantage of the situation. One of the best photographers of our time.
The best right now in my opinion.
If Billy isn’t full time then there’s no hope for the rest of us! He is the best out there as far as we are concerned. 😍😍😍
I've watched a bunch of these Walkie Talkie's and by far, Billy Dee has the most jaw dropping photos.
And the matching personnality and consideration for his subjects...
This was great again Paulie! Billy’s photos are so brilliantly layered, huge fan of his work!
Absolutely incredible photographer.
I been following Billydee for a few years, and his photos are amazing! He’s on his own lane. And to see how sweet and humble he is, makes me a bigger fan of his.
As a A7RV + 24-70mm GM II shooter - I thank you from the bottom of my little heart for this. Amazing work by Billy. Holy smokes... unbelievable shots.

One of my favourite photographers alive

2:38 is such a good photo. He needs to put together a book, I'll be the first one in line to buy it
Billy is a legend in the making.
Oh this guy is LEGIT! Love the photos and the vibes! Not your usual street photographer.
Dudes got an outrageous eye
By far one of my all time favorite photogs
Billy is one of the elite few who has 'the eye' for photography. The man just gets it!
He has a 9 to 5 but the fire burns in him to fulfill his passion of recording history, Love it.
Thank you Paulie for introducing us to Billy Dinh, "legend" of the future. Only 5 years and he already mastered multilayered compositions, painting with light and he is already level with his 5 favourite "legend" photographers.
He’s my fave of the series right now … super talented with a film cinematic skill
For the people who ask what lens he uses, it is a Sony Sonnar T* FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA
Thanks
Amazing lens with a character!
Not the 55mm?

@@ConstantinA1 Thanks. Any experience with this lens? I'm thinking of getting a 35mm for my Sony for street stuff. Maybe the 35mm 1.8?
Inspirational from start to finish, thanks for doing this!

Same here.
Can't believe he still has a 9 to 5.
His photos are phenomenal. What a shoots!

Love this Walkie Talkie, and Paulie B, thank you for sharing all of these great artists we might not see without this platform.
I love how he got balls to just shoot photos of random people without caring about what they think. My favorite photographer since ever.
he's one of the best photographers in this series so far
Finally someone who uses digital and a SONY let's go!!! Thank you for making this Paulie. Love the series.
Wow, brilliant work. When he revealed his illustrator/graphic arts background the penny dropped. Just superb.

my fav walkie talkie right here... and yes, I watched all of these.
One of my favourite photographers, love his work, nice to see him on your channel!

Wonder how he edits his photos. Can tell he definitely has a vision for his pictures and works hard to get that across.

Best "genre" I could attach his work to is "Accidental Renaissance"

my favorite photographer plus he lives in my neighborhood :))
Wow. Absolutely stunning images. A legend in the making.
Great photos merging photograghy and abstract fine art.
Immediate follow! I dig his attitude towards gear, towards engaging people and why he does this respectfully too.
Whoa. I love his photos but also loved that he had no glib answers to your questions. If he didn't know, he didn't know.
Billy is one of the best photographers who inspires me a lot
One of my favourites along with Christopher Anderson and Alec Soth ❤
Probably my all-time favorite street photographer (maybe tied with Fan Ho). Amazing talent from a good dude. Keep up the good work Paulie!
Oh thank you... i do like your walkie talkies... especially this one with Billy 😊
