I have seen this generation of people travelling for social media, societal competition, etc. But it's really makes my heart cry when he said it's his presence of mind in the places and memories that will be with me. It's great and it's possible.

Yes, I did it, myself and my wife travelled 55000 km by flight and another 7000 kn/miles by ship to cover 13 islands in Antarctica starting from 21/01/2016 and returned on 7th Feb. We went to Ushuaia in Argentina to take Quark Expedition cruise for 14 days sailing through the roughest antarctica ocean reaching ice covered islands at -40 to -60 degrees, saw the rarest of the rarest sights of Hub Back wales family, Killer wales at 10 ft distance, a million of penguin colonies and other birds, sea lions, and its entirely a different world, seeing is believing. My photographs are yet to be posted on FB due to no time to attend till April.

Great work & that is my philosophy too. Though a woman , I take off on my own , mainly to western countries where solo travelling of women is safe and secure reasonably.
