The worst part about the Ford 460/429 heads is the exhaust and the dam head bolt that is covering almost a 1/3 of the port from exiting the gasses. While this trick does not totally solve the problem, IT HELPS a great deal. The proComp head gives enough meat to get the Super Cobra Jet FelPro 1420 Gasket to FULL USE!!!
Good to see you Thomas. I cannot believe how small the exhaust runner is compaired to a bbc. That tube trick is needed to give those heads a better exhaust/intake flow ratio so they can make some good power.
De been going through life in a big way. Glad to see I have been missed. I need to get back and keep Thomas on his toes! Thanks, Yankee Cutter
Good to have you back. Have been missing your uploads.
Good to see you back at it!
Was wondering where ya went for a little while. Kinda had me worried! Haha good to see you back
would like to see work done on stock cast iron 460 heads like you did with the fe 390
You are one hell of a DUDE, SIR. I would really like to see you do a 460 D0VE head, and what you would do to those "pinched" exhaust ports. And another thing, I am looking for that video you did on filling cross over ports with molten metal, the one where you "burned your fuckin foot off". Although I would never wish you any harm or injury, you provided me with a very entertaining video and I LMAO. So keep up the GREAT work my friend, and THANK YOU for all you have done.
Nice work Headbytes. I know that the 460 uses a 1/2" head bolt. What was the O.D. of the bolt bushing-sleeve that you used once it broke through on the exhaust side of the Procomp 460 cylinder head after porting. Thanks for the great videos. What about any SBF videos.
I want the final results. I have the same heads on my engine
what's the best fe head for making 500 hp out of a 390 ?
real good video
can you fix an engine block
De, take a look at Speedtalkdotcom it is a pretty good forum I post under Carnut1. Building a hot rodded 351w Lightning motor to drop into a friend's monster Bronco. I could use some feeback. The "Big boys" don't share the info as much as Thomas. I am still a newbie at this engine / porting thing. Started when I was 14 and I turn 50 this year. Thanks
