Exactly. Tywin was announced as a Hand of the King when they put Joffrey on the throne, but since Tywin was leading the war he sent Tyrion to act as a Hand in his place and in his name.
Tyrion's wound was much worse in the books. He lost his nose, so there's a hole where it was supposed to be. Along with him being a dwarf, and his heterochromic eyes (one black, one green), he kinda have a point when he resents and said he looks like a monster. The show probably didn't do that to save budget/hassle doing cgi/makeup for every scene he would be in.
@@Noone91875 yeah, that's why early seasons cut away sieges/battles scenes to its aftermath. But tbh, i'd rather have those early seasons where the priority lies in strong storytelling, than when it became big-budgeted eyecandy in later seasons but at the cost of what's more important.
Tyrion in the books _is_ actually hideously ugly and then loses his nose on top of it. Peter Dinklage is amazing as Tyrion, but honestly he is a good-looking guy unlike the book version of the character.

2:45 this is actually something really interesting that I never considered in my many many rewatches of the show - that Tywin maybe thought Arya could be a spy (potentially like one of Varys' birds) for the North and therefore was intentionally feeding her false information. That's a really great theory, wow.
Well, tywin would have reason to not reveal his plan until out of harrenhal anyway as it makes sense to assume there are spies given he almost got murdered a few episodes ago. To attack Rob actually was his plan, but it changed later, for reasons explained in the books but not revealed in the show yet so I can't explain without it being a spoiler.
Pudgey genuinely grieving for Renly 😢..Spartan "who cares about Renly we talking bout THE GREATS"...THE WAY I DIED LAUGHING 🤣😂.....such a sweet girl and such a man's man moment
42:51 Two type of viewers: Her: "I'm so happy for Robb and Talisa getting married." Him: "The war between the Starks and Lannisters has been going on for awhile."
Tywin entering the main hall on the horse, was actually a very subtle nod to the fact that Tywin is actually the one in power. In the main hall, the iron throne sits atop the steps, making it the highest seat in the room, meant for the highest person, i.e. The King. Nobody should sit higher than the king in the Great Hall. Yet Tywin, entering on his horse, is sitting slightly higher than the Iron Throne, showing that he's actually looking down at Joffrey. This is made more apparent by the quick shot of Tywin letting his horse take a shit right before entering, as if he's shitting on the hierarchy itself.
I find it interesting how because you watched HOTD first, Spartan is expecting time skips to progress the story.....but GOT uses a completely different progression. We had to wait a year, if not more between seasons. Characters aged naturally. While timeframes (I don't think it's a spoiler to say) between scenes and episode have some short jumps in later seasons to accelerate story telling towards the end, it is nothing like the time jumps seen in HOTD. In fact, the accelerated pacing in later seasons is often criticised by many fans as 'rushing' the story. Perhaps I would recommend to focus less on expecting HOTD style time jumps, as you will be disappointed - and the lack of them is really not an important aspect to be focusing on. Just enjoy GOT progression as it unfolds...
Yeah, the time jumps between episodes in GOT is about a month, usually. So there aren't massive time jumps necessarily not in the early seasons that I've personally watched, anyway. It was kind of strange that House of the Dragon had such MASSIVE time jumps for those who had watched GOT before it.
Tbh HOTD time jumps makes more while in GOT we’re following Dany and other characters beings in political conflicts and at war zones so time skip really don’t make much much. HOTD on the other hand has to deliver 30 years of story within 3-4 seasons.
There is a cut scene where Doreah was the one who killed Irri, Dany’s other handmaiden who was found dead 2 episodes ago. She was very much in on betraying Dany, she was trying to manipulate her into surviving.
"Our magic was born again. It is strongest in their presence, and they are strongest in yours" That hits different after learning more about dragons in HOTD

I know it will take time Pudgey and Spartan but try to pay attention to things like house sigils, uniforms, and music. For example the Starks, Lannisters, and Targarayans have their own music which often plays in the background during scenes involving characters of a particular house. Also, the men Brienne killed were Stark men (u can tell by their uniforms). It's the same as Ned's and Robs. Not a big deal but makes watching the show that little more fun.
Spartan's 'wow' at 34:00 is hilarious, ma boy is shook 😅And yes guys, at the very end on the horse, that is a White Walker, the first one we get a proper look at.
There's a deleted scene for this episode where Doreah (girl locked in the safe) murders Irri, the other girl who served Daenerys. I'm glad they didn't show that because I really liked the actress who played Irri. The linguist who created Dothraki said she was the best speaker of the language among the cast.
Well in this last chapter I am going to give my opinion a little... I like that you manage to see beyond what is seen in the characters. Many people start to hate characters for the simple fact of an action without seeing the depth of it. On the other hand Danny still has a long way to go,you will probably love her like many other characters. I like seeing yours reactions and rewatching the series again. I hope continue like this.
1. All the drama in the Throne Room, with Joffrey rejecting Sansa and accepting his betrothal to Margaery was planned. It was part of the price the Crown had to pay for the support of House Tyrell 2. Theon's speech hits the spot everytime 3. To be a dancing master is one thing, but to be a faceless man is another thing altogether. Jaqen is dead. Say it again, Valar Morghulis. 4. I sometimes forget what a good episode this one is. I tend not to rate it highly as a season ender, but it's not too bad. Now we go into the two seasons that really made this show the world wide phenomenon it became. Can't wait!
Just to clarify. The white one on the horse is the whyte walker. The general foot soldiers are their army of the dead And his name is pronounced Jack-in Huh-gar 😅
Another great reaction! Everyone say that the show REALLY begins after Ned's death. And although we have to recognise that in order for one to get absolutely hooked from the first episode the show till finish is just another level of tv storytelling. And although the plot thickens after Ned's death, for me season 3 is actually when things go the point of no return. Most of the time my jaw was down and i was constantly "oh my god" - ing 😀 and i am super excited because I have forgotten so many things and can't wait to relive this with you guys!
Somehow, imho, Starks music theme, even with HoTD, is the best piece Ramin Jawadi produced for GoT, so much in it correlates with the story of the Starks
In this episode, both Jon and Dany had to make a difficult decision....we can see their lives being sometimes parallels.A great second season!!Let's go to the next......
So interesting you guys are able to empathise with Theon, when this season aired he was probably one of the most hated characters on tv (though not as much as Joffrey) 😂
The dude Jon kills is Qhorin Halfhand. Hes one of the best swordsmen in Game of Thrones. Hes also missing half of his sword hand so he learned to fight with his offhand. He sacrificed himself because he knew he had no chance. He was a legendary ranger in the Watch and had killed many Wildlings.
22:44 Yeah Robb and Talisa got married very early on in their relationship - personally I believe this reasoning: it was because they'd already slept together. If a noble lady is deflowered then traditionally she is seen as tainted or worth less than before (as we learn from Alicent talking to Rhaenyra in HotD: "sullied"). Not that Talisa seems to care much for her noble background, but Robb is an honourable and traditional person and to save her from that dishonour, marriage was Robb's best solution. At least they love each other already! I like this interpretation because it's most consistent with book-Robb.
my take on the doreah dituation...Is that she went to him and proposed that since he had a vault full of gold, she could be his wife, and he asked for something in return and she said she would get him the dragons. She was the only on in there, and let everyone in so they were murdered. She was gone when khaleesi and jorah came back so she had already left with the dragons then. She betrayed them, she sold them all out for half a vault of gold that didn't even exist. that's why she was locked in.
In the books, Stannis is far less enthraled by Melisandre than on the show. As a strategist, he just sees her as a tool to get the job done. Because he would never have advanced at all in the war cause he had so little men. Whereas Renly had forged an alliance with the Tyrells who had the biggest army and were the wealthiest family(so could buy anybody off) and had great influence all over. So when Renly was killed most of his men switched sides to Stannis. That's all Stannis needed. He also uses her for different purposes in the books. But always as a weapon. He doesn't believe in her religion.
Yep. Book-Stannis gave up on believing in (or at least worshipping) any gods the day he saw his parents die when their ship sank in Shipbreaker Bay right outside of their home of Storm's End. He is essentially a functional agnostic that uses Melidandre and R'hllor/The Lord of Light because she's demonstrated that it gives her some kind of actual magic and that is an incredibly useful tool when you're fighting a war. He has many true believers in his army (most of them are converts with some exceptions like Davos), but Stannis himself -- in the novels anyway -- isn't religious at all and is just pragmatic. One of the best characters in the series.
Seeing Drogo was so heartbreaking… I loved their pairing the most in the entire show. In my head, someday they will reunite, husband, wife and their baby)))
if I understood correctly the house of the undying scene didnt contain drogo in the books but they added it as they didnt mind an excuse to bring back mamoa lol. Not sure if this is true but I heard it somewhere
@@jcarlovitch I mean, it's basically the best possible outcome. It is wrong by my and probably your standards for our world, but given the circumstances it's quite a touching development.
Still, poor Sam. Not even the White Walkers will pick him for their kickball team, and they aren’t really particularly discriminating. Turned in his favor, at least in this case. 😄

36:20 they left him because they can feel his a "coward/weak" and that he will die in this winter tundra ether way and be in their army ...as undead eventually. They not in a rush... imagine how many people died in this past thousand of years , so they have a lot of them .
I feel you guys on missing Jaqen. Fortunately the story has a lot of these relatively small roles that are still really intriguing, definitely one of the series strengths!
Doreah's betrayal led to the death of some of Dany's khalasar. Doreah brought her fate on herself. Not to mention the surviving members of her khalasar would be outraged if she didn't kill Doreah. There is also a deleted scene where she killed Irri and stole the dragons herself.
I believe it’s to be perceived that Doreah helped Xaro steal the dragons & conspired with the monks of the house of the undying. Everyone else was killed except her in Danys room. His gold was fake also. Seems everyone in Qarth was pretty broke & would kill for any kind of wealth. Xaro only wanted to marry Dany to become a king. They didn’t think she would come back alive.
Damn I forgot just how good these early seasons of Game of Thrones were! The dialogue, the action, the suspense. In its heyday its still one of the greatest shows ever made. Her dragons are her kids. As a mother myself, if a close-friend or even a loved-one conspired to kidnap my kids then a quick death is the only mercy they'll get. Also her other "lady in waiting" died because of that betrayal.
Laughing right with Spartan when he mocks Renly on the Fallen Legends list. Knew the wedding would make Pudgey happy. The look on her race as Spartan when Jon kills his fellow Night Watch was perfect.
Oh man, Season 3 is coming soon and I am so excited for the reactions! I think seasons 3 and 4 are the show at its absolute best. Not that the first two seasons aren't also absolutely top-tier television.
35:58 You finally have a good view of a white walker. You saw one *very* briefly in the very first episode (when it killed Waymar Royce and beheaded Gared, of the Night's Watch), and then when one took one of Craster's sons early in Season 2 (again not a great view of one).
Actually, now seeing this episode again, I think Cersei was actually trying to give Sansa a way out. Never noticed how she looked at her before. At about 10:06.
Well, they also had to make a show of it to the public to justify canceling a marriage as that's very against the religion and culture. That whole thing was already agreed upon it was a show for the people of kings landing.
„It didn‘t look like a fatal wound“… no, he only got a huge honking spear into his entrails, what could possibly go wrong with that? 👍😛 God, I love you guys….
I think the book version of the White Walkers (The Others as they're called). They're described to be scary in a different way than physical. These white walkers are kinda spooky looking physically, but the book version is more mystical. They're described to be like elves, directly compared to celtic sidhe. Cold and beautiful spirits in armor of ice so smooth that the reflections from it make them almost invisible in the forest, with blades of ice so thin that you can't see them in certain angles, but still strong. And their speech is more like cracking ice. I imagine the sound to be like when large frozen lakes crack, it shoots a very unique sound out into the surrounding forest, it is kind of scary but also magical. I really like the book White Walkers.

Tyrion only held the position as HoK as long as Tywin was away from KL. It was a a deal made in s1.
Exactly. Tywin was announced as a Hand of the King when they put Joffrey on the throne, but since Tywin was leading the war he sent Tyrion to act as a Hand in his place and in his name.
@@FrigusMagnumyeah, it wasn't an injustice at all. Although a "nice job" would've been nice.
Just imagine if they show every battle of the battle of five kings. .
@@CitroChannel There are other characters that are too good looking for the characters they play. I won't say who to avoid spoilers for the channel, but book fans know who I mean.
@@rhaenyralikesyoutube6289jorah, Daario (second actor), arya, Tyrion, (in my opinion also tywin. I think Charles dance looks better then the beard Tywin is supposed to have), the hound and probably more I can't think off. Kinda wish they gave targaryans their purple like eyes though. I've seen edits before that could easily do that so it definitely wasn't the hardest things to do. Also ygritte now I think of it looks way better in the show.
Kinda wish Val, Arianna Martell among others were in the show though. I wonder who they would've cast.
The way you feel about Rob and Talissa and Tyrion and Shae is simply heart warming. I look forward to enjoying your continuing interest and reactions as these relationships as they blossom and progress.

I love the scene when Theon swears on all Gods that hell kill a man that blows horn in the beggining haha. Its so funny and desperate.
Master Luwin goes away like a badass, and his missons was complete,he protected Stark children, pulled them thru siege, escorted them out,and died knowing all Stark children LIVE! Good way to go if you ask me!
Brutal reaction as always thanks for 2 per week!
Can't believe you guys already completed two seasons ,hype for the next season.
>:)
42:51
Two type of viewers:
Her: "I'm so happy for Robb and Talisa getting married."
Him: "The war between the Starks and Lannisters has been going on for awhile."
Funny thing about that is the iron throne is far taller in the books.

Happy to see some Varys respect! Watching this series again through your eyes is amazing!
Maester Luwin's death under the heart tree is so damn sad. And that music...ugh... It literally gets me every time I see that scene.
She was very much in on betraying Dany, she was trying to manipulate her into surviving.
they deleted it for a reason. dany is a psychopath, show points to all the signs.
"Our magic was born again. It is strongest in their presence, and they are strongest in yours"
That hits different after learning more about dragons in HOTD
I was thinking exactly same thing. Now I really maesters theory is right about what’ll happen to dragons post-civil war.
You poor fools 😏 I wish I could see this show for the first time again. Enjoy your feelings of hope while you can. Great work btw!!!
Nice plot twist with Spartan starting to make most of the correct guesses in this one. Character development!
Pudgey " There was so much heartbreak, excitement, love". All is left now is pain and more heartbreak excitement and love lol
Pudgey's laugh over Spartan's pronunciation of Jaqen H'ghar was so contagious. Looking forward to your upcoming reactions. ^^

Thank you thank you thank you for putting out 2 episodes a week. Keep it up. You are amazing 💜
I found this really hard to do my first run through of the series. There’s just SO much to pay attention to lol.
I get so excited for you guys to drop these reactions!! literally the only thing on RUclips I look forward to atm!!
When Pycelle goes to Australia, he studiously avoids Pudgy. It is known.
Spartan's 'wow' at 34:00 is hilarious, ma boy is shook 😅And yes guys, at the very end on the horse, that is a White Walker, the first one we get a proper look at.
It made me laugh too 🤣🤣
Pudgey
I didnt even think it was today .... all the stress just left me when i saw the thumbnail ...whoop whoop ..thanks youz guyz
43:00 Love how Pudgey got mad that he interrupted her Rob and Talisa hype 😂😂
@@Krucifus That's right.... I've been accompanying the guys for a long time now, it's very nice to see them give back what they think.
1. All the drama in the Throne Room, with Joffrey rejecting Sansa and accepting his betrothal to Margaery was planned. It was part of the price the Crown had to pay for the support of House Tyrell
2. Theon's speech hits the spot everytime
Can't wait!
Those tavern girls were killed by Stark soldiers, not Lannister soldiers.
Just to clarify. The white one on the horse is the whyte walker. The general foot soldiers are their army of the dead
And his name is pronounced Jack-in Huh-gar 😅
Another great reaction! Everyone say that the show REALLY begins after Ned's death. And although we have to recognise that in order for one to get absolutely hooked from the first episode the show till finish is just another level of tv storytelling. And although the plot thickens after Ned's death, for me season 3 is actually when things go the point of no return. Most of the time my jaw was down and i was constantly "oh my god" - ing 😀 and i am super excited because I have forgotten so many things and can't wait to relive this with you guys!
Not even mad about them continuing to butcher Jaqen's name anymore, it's a meme at this point
I love how they call Sam sammy I'm enjoying your prospective on everything I'm 100% sticking with with channel
you guys are finally getting into the meat and potatoes of the story. awesome stuff.
I have never watched a series or channel on RUclips as closely as I watch this one! I genuinely enjoy watching you guys!!
We genuinely appreciate it 🙏🥰
Somehow, imho, Starks music theme, even with HoTD, is the best piece Ramin Jawadi produced for GoT, so much in it correlates with the story of the Starks
I think it was foolish of the Night's watch to send out Qhorin Halfhand with so few men.
Basically books stannis is a legend.
But show is just good
One of the best characters in the series.

if I understood correctly the house of the undying scene didnt contain drogo in the books but they added it as they didnt mind an excuse to bring back mamoa lol.

Sam lived for a purpose. Never underestimate the power of a messenger to demoralize the enemy.
Most people don't understand this so I'm happy there's someone who gets it 😂
Still, poor Sam. Not even the White Walkers will pick him for their kickball team, and they aren’t really particularly discriminating. Turned in his favor, at least in this case. 😄

At 17:42 there's the horn blowing as torture. 18:19 when he swears he will kill that man - he means the horn blower outside :-)
"You want me? HERE I AM!" I was half expecting the clicking noises of a Yautja after that line.
Y’all are such sweet summer children and it’s so entertaining to watch 🤣. Great reaction!

I wish you two the very best of luck in the following nights. Sam's encounter at the end of the episode is truly the stuff of nightmares 😨.

Robb Stark signed his own death warrant the moment he betrayed Walder Frey and insulted him.
I love how happy pudgey always is when good thinks happen, you are like me in this moments
Oh dear lord. They're going into season 3. You sweet summer children ☀️
i love how this episode has a lot of parallels between Jon and Dany / White Walkers and Dragons
A Song of Ice and Fire indeed
Lovin the GoT videos! Every video I get so excited to see how you react to the whole rest of the series. I hope you guys keep watching it!
There's also definitely more to them in the books. There is also definitely an intelligence there and I hope they explore it more in the future.
Loved the ending there, made me laugh too with Pudgey laughing so much.
Hahaha
"I will love you from this day until my last day."
