Fun fact, Charles Dance (Tywin) had to apologize to Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) each time he said anything offensive, because he felt too bad about the script. His performance is fantastic
I was wondering about that. It is acting but he is still making comments that could be hurtful to the actor since the insults were towards being a dwarf/little person.
Spartan is pretty much correct on Tywin's motives. He loathes the fact that when Jaime and Cersei were young children his life for a short time was perfect, as he had dreamed of having children so strong and so beautiful that no one would ever think to laugh at the name Lannister as they laughed at his weak willed father. The Lannisters genetically have also been known to always be tall, strong and attractive. Then along comes Tyrion and shatters Tywin's bubble. It is implied that Tywin really believes the gods "punished" him with Tyrion because he enjoyed too much success and needed humbling, and that Tyrion subsequently literally exists for the purpose of emberassing him. He also resents that his wife Joanna died giving Tyrion life as Joanna is said to have been the only one who could make Tywin laugh, even implied that she had the ability to change his mind/make him do things her way back hom at the Rock. And when Joanna died so did Tywin's smiles.
To piggyback off that it’s also heavily implied in the books that the mad king was infatuated with Joanna and there were rumors that he might have had his way with her and that Tyrion might not actually be Tywins son.
@@m3driver245 I am one of those few that believe that Tyrion is actually the only trueborn son of Tywin the king's right to the first night would be applied to the first born (Jaime and Cersei)
@@m3driver245 I think those rumors are pretty full of crap. The timeline doesn't match up, and pawing at a girl doesn't make her pregnant. After that, Joanna stayed in Casterly Rock, and unless the Mad King can fly or teleport, he wasn't banging her.
@@m3driver245 Indeed, I recall something about Aerys making sultry comments on her breasts at the Tourney in Lannisport to celebrate Viserys' birth. Honestly it's a wonder Tywin did not quit sooner given Aerys' behavior.
The way that Charles Dance (Tywin’s actor) controls a scene is so powerful. No one could have played Tywin like him. He’s one of the few characters in the show that truly stands up to their reputation, the man just exudes power and control.
You have to be an amazing actor to command power, respect, fear while never have to scream. Charles Dance knocked it out of the park in this role. I agree with 100% of what you said
I couldn't agree more. Mr. Dance is a brilliant Shakespearean trained actor. I read an article a few years ago that David and Dan knew they wanted Charles Dance to portray Tywin Lannister.
Barristan Selmy grew on me over time as I read the books. No spoliers here, but his backstory gets fleshed out more in book five, and becomes more of a pivotal character.
I agree he's great in the show even though he doesn't exactly have too much screentime, he's still quite likable, though I am not a fan of him in the books idk why but I just can't like him in the books
Yes, there are seven Kingsguard, with a particular uniform-armor and their white cloak which represents their vows (sworn not to have wife/children nor lands/titles), they serve the King/Queen and their family until death. We saw in House of the Dragon how they need to replace one who has died, and at the end of the first season of HOTD, we get to know where they stand, almost all of them.
He gives us my favourite quote from the books, one I trot out whenever people start the "who would win" arguments: "I have seen a hundred tournaments and more wars than I would wish, and however strong or fast or skilled a knight may be, there are others who can match him. A man will win one tourney, and fall quickly in the next. A slick spot in the grass may mean defeat, or what you ate for supper the night before. A change in the wind may bring the gift of victory. Or a lady's favor knotted round an arm."
I met Ian Mcelhinney(Ser Barristan) once about 4 years ago. He was such an awesome guy to talk to and I told him "you know you're literally the top ranked fighter in the series right?" And he just responded with "Oh I know". He's a legend
An interesting point about Tywin is that he married his cousin Joanna Lannister. Normally, Tywin would be expected to marry someone outside the family for an alliance and to strengthen their hand, but Tywin was only ever interested in Joanna. Across the books, it's mentioned that Tywin never smiles, (although occasionally his mouth threatened to do so, and was apparently terrible to behold.) Tywin smiles the Jaime and Cersei were born, and he smiled the day Aerys named him Hand. Joanna was the only person who could make Tywin laugh, when she died, so too did his laugh and smile. Tywin believes his children have grown up to disappoint him and that Tyrion is the worst of the lot. The great irony of this, (as Tywin's sister points out,) is that Tyrion is far more like Tywin than either Jaime or Cersei. (Apparently Tywin refused to speak to her for half a year for saying that.)
An interesting thing is Cersei telling Tyrion "They said you'd lost your nose, but it's not as gruesome as all that." is a nod to the books where Tyrion actually lost part of his nose after the Battle of Blackwater.
You have to remember that everyone at court except Varys benefits by convincing Tywin that Tyrion had been a waste as Hand, and at that point it’s all their word vs Tyrion.
Yeah people think tyrion did a lot, but he didn’t do a lot for the lannister, take out the maester, didn’t change nothing, it was good for us the viewers to see some justice, but in tywin pov he didn’t care. And he still brought a whore to the keep. He did great in the battle but in the end was tywin who won
Ser Barriston is the best fighter in Westeros. During Roberts Rebellion, after Rhagar was killed, Robert would actually pardon Ser Barriston due to him being honorable. Even during the battle, Robert helped dragged him to safety after he was injured by Roberts own men. Edit: I realize Arthur Dayne is the best however he is dead so we can’t really say he is Westeros current best.
There are always 7 Kingsguards. Barristan Selmy was their Lord Commander, the leader of the group, until he got fired in season one. Then Jaime was promoted to be the new Lord Commander.
Two things…. I’ve been watching most of the current GOT reactors on RUclips and you guys are in the top two. Excited, engaged and your attention to detail is great. Attention to detail in this show is imperative. Lots of seemingly minor details turn into major things later on. Second… I’m laughing about your love, like and hate lists. It will be fun to see how wildly they change over time.
Absolutely love them I watch alot of reactors do this show and alot of them are good but these 2 are just really enjoying this journey you can tell and that makes for amazing reactions in my opinion
The kid that tried to kill Danny had bluish lips so I think the implication is that was one of the Warlocks seeking revenge, maybe in shapeshifting form. (Haven't read the books, this is my own speculation.)
You are correct in your speculation. The Qarth warlocks had shapeshifting abilities, the books confirmed it, so it is likely that the child who was sent to assassinate Dany was not a child in reality.
Apparently during the scene between Tywin and Tyrion, Charles dance felt so bad about what he was saying to him he was almost in tears and kept breaking character to apologize
I really like how you guys pause the episode to discuss things and not continue talking over the episode. Like after the scene with Tywin and Tyrion. Too many reactors miss key dialogue by continuing to talk over scenes.

Love your Love-, Like- and Hate-Lists and your discussions about the show. The best thing, when you have two commentators are the different views and ideas.
Listening to your love/like/hate lists and your reasons just reminded me how much all the characters develop in this series. I have forgotten how different I felt for most of them in the beginning and later in the series how things changed (well, for those that lived anyway..) but damn, character arcs and development in GoT ia just unmatched for me. Even the not so main characters. So excited to see how these lists will change over time!
The way I see it - Joffrey has to be nice to Margery, because her family is around, and the second richest house in the kingdoms. If he ever lay a hand on her, even he knows the consequences. Sansa was a play thing for him simply because she had nobody to protect her, and her family were in open war.
Yeah, but there are two more differences: -Sansa was really naive and he could manipulate her, Margery is more clever and she knows how she has to act near Joffrey. -The Tyrells are a big house from the south, they aren't as different as the northern with their own culture and religion
And with the war still ongoing it's Highgarden that is providing King's Landing with vital food supplies. Offend the Tyrells right now and half of King's Landing will starve.
I think Margaery also speaks to Joffrey in a way that makes him feel special and important too, she’s very deliberate about how she talks to him and she is more wordly and experienced and knows what she’s doing where Sansa is moreso just innocent and naively wanted to marry a prince with romanticized ideas.
Theres several factors about the difference he treated Sansa and Margaery... Family isnt important to Joffrey. Even when Ned was around, he did mistreated Arya. The big differences is how both Sansa and Margaery treat him -Sansa treated Joffrey like a god and worship him to a point of small herself down. She barelly show any character or even defend herself. Sansa wasnt interesting or even challenge to him. Easily manipulated and too weak. Sansa didnt knew how to speak with him without fear, besides kissing is ass! Even before the abuse! -Margaery on the other hand, speaks to him... sure she kiss his ass too, but is more subtle and its interesting. She knows how to lead a conversation and she shows some sort of character. She shows emotions and have no fear to talk to Joffrey. She is a enigma for Joffrey to discover. Plus Margaery treats Joffrey as a person, (despite knowing how importante he is) and not someone just to please! (obvious she does, but its subtle). -Its like Cersei. She treats Joffrey as this important person, almost all mighty but same time she reduce him to be just a child. A spoilled child that can do as his please, but she demands that he grow up in certain situations. She doesnt treat him like a son, that happens to be the most important person in the westeros. This is where Margaery wins. Margaerys sees Joffrey for what he is (this is the prespective she is giving to him) and treats him like a person that happens to be the King. But at the same time she knows her place. -Sansa wasnt educated to live in the kingslanding, so she doesnt know how to play the diplomacy game, in fact Sansa wouldnt be a good Queen. In fact she would support Joffrey in every bad decisions he made... just not to upstet him. -Cersei had to learn how to play the diplomacy game, by living in Kingslanding. But every move or game was supported by Tywin. Thats why she doesnt know how to read the game in long distance. She creates a problem by fixing one problem -Margaery was educated in the political game. She shows to the players, what she wants them to see (Littlefinger is the perfect example. How in the first conversation, she just played with him. making him believe she was naive, till the last strike, where she shows, she knows how she can read a person and using that at her vantage) but not sounding too much forced (like Sansa did) or controlling too much (like Cersei did) without loosing herself or her goal. Will she become a good Queen? who knows!?
Another great reaction! Pudgey is so observant for details it’s amazing! I missed most of this stuff my first time through. And Spartan, your perspective on things is sooo interesting. You may choose the wrong side of things from time to time but your reasoning for most is understandable and certainly entertaining! You guys make a great team! Yin and Yang. Keep ‘em coming. ❤🔥
There are always seven Kingsguard ever since Aegon the Conqueror's time, in honour of the Seven gods of the Faith of the Seven. In HotD we know a few of them - Harrold Westerling, Criston Cole, Arryk and Erryk. In GoT we know Jaime Lannister, Sandor (the Hound, who filled Barristan's place once he was kicked out), Meryn Trant (the guy who beat Sansa), and there was Ser Mandon Moore who tried to kill Tyrion at the battle.
Tywin hates Tyrion because Tyrion reminds him of his own father who was a weak and timid man, often nicknamed "the toothless lion" because he'd lend money and forgive debts, and his Bannermen would openly mock him yet never confronted them about it. The more you understand about Tywin's past the more you understand why he thinks Tyrion is the "weak link" in the family, despite Tyrion probably being the most like Tywin
In the books, Tywins wife is the only one who brought him joy so Tyrion being the cause of her death and his dwarfism is why Tywin and Cersei despise Tyrion.
@@soulscyther666 I hope not, cuz that would just undercut and kinda cheapen the phenomenal relationship those two have so many parallels between them for what would feel like fan service more or less, it a really cool theory but God I hope it isn't true
@@eurongreyjoy1008 I was more so hinting towards the fact that Tywin hated him for those 2 reasons where as Cersei hates him because in her head, he purposefully killed his mom to be born.
A couple things to note about dynamics this episode: On Stannis and Melisandre - Stannis, at this point, is so convinced by Melisandre because she has repeatedly proven herself powerful, and her prophecies correct. Between her prophecies and her shadow assassin she has proven to him she has supernatural power of some kind. Given his army is now shattered, he NEEDS a trump card like that in order to win the war. Melisandre is his best shot. That she is assuring him she could've changed the outcome of the battle had she been there is icing on the cake. She gave him that army in the first place, by removing Renly. He needs more of that from her now. Stannis' trust in Ser Davos is at an all time low, as it was Davos who pressed for Stannis NOT to bring Melisandre to the battle. In that way, Davos cost him victory (as he sees it) and so his continued protesting against Melisandre seems unreasonable and counterproductive to the war effort. At this point, to Stannis' mind, Davos might as well be arguing he should just let himself lose the war to keep the supposed moral highground. It's Melisandre or bust. As for Melisandre burning people... Melisandre is a firm believer in the Lord of Light, and believes burning these people as sacrifices will encourage her God to bless her in ways that will allow her to aid and guide Stannis. Stannis sees it as a means to an end, given Melisandre has otherwise proven she has access to supernatural power. On Margaery Tyrell and Joeffrey - Margaery has a bit of protection from Joeffrey's sadism that Sansa did not have. Namely, the Tyrells command the largest army in Westeros and supply all the food to King's Landing. If Joeffrey severely abuses Margaery and it angers the Tyrells, they could pull out of their alliance with the Lannisters and turn the tide of the war. Margaery's family has powerful leverage. Sansa, on the other hand, had no clout. Her family was already at war with the Lannisters so angering them didn't matter.
Also, just to add to the Margery/Joffrey dynamic, Tywin is in the equation now where he wasn't before. Tywin's presence definitely has Joff on better behavior
The white walkers do have a history of leaving survivors to go back and tell others about them. I imagine to strike fear. In the very first episode / scene they let a ranger live. He was subsequently killed by Ned, but not before he told his tale.
Legendary fighter Ser Barristan, In S1 Jaime said once he saw the greatest move he have ever seen from that man. Ned also said, he was glad he never met him in battle same with Catelyn as he would've made a widow out of her.

Fun fact: Charles Dance is a sweet man and felt pretty bad about what Tywin had to say to Tyrion in this episode, so much so that in scenes like this one he'd apologise to Peter Dinklage for what his character said.
"Your girl knows a thing or two" HAHA! That was really a good catch! I mean i waited some years to see the third season after the second one, so i had to look it up too to be honest... I did not remember him at first, just after Jorah said who he is. Enjoy your third season. Winter is coming :)
House of the Undying part was my favorite in the books as it foreshadowed a lot of things even for other characters in Westeros not just for Dany. I would've loved it if the show portrayed all of that so I could watch you guys analyze it and maybe even pick things up. It delved into Aegon's dream, you guys already know it from HOTD, for example.
I believe that HOTD is the first time where there was talk about Aegon the Conquerer having that dream. In the House of Undying at the end of Book 2, Dany sees a vision where a reference is made to the content of that dream, but Aegon I was not the dreamer, it was shown with a different character.
It's impossible not to root for the Starks! Everyone likes other houses and families but after all the shit the Starks go through, you can't not root for them. The north remembers that Winter is Comming!
I like when Cersei is talking about Tyrion losing his nose which is a little nod to the book where he actually did lose his nose. I'm so glad they changed it for the show, can you imagine?
You guys are my favourite reactors. Love how much you engage with the comments and go deeper into the lore and things like these love/like/hate lists. Hope to see you do many more quality shows in the future! Merry Christmas and a happy new year! 🎅
Spartan has adapted his mindset to this show so quickly. It was like a light switch went off and boom. It’s been great to see (name mispronunciation is whatever honestly). This world has most gray characters (excluding Joffrey) that’s why reactions are so entertaining. ‘Good’ people do bad things and ‘bad’ people do good things and viewers can’t easily sort people into clear immutable piles. It’s great television.
Agree! They really go in depth and notice all the nuanced parts of it, rather than just taking things at face value - it shows much more appreciation for the show
Just to say, you said you understand Tywin's perspective (don't expect a garland of roses or any reward) but he's actually wrong there. We DO reward people for feats of bravery or success. Especially in the military. People are given medals and rewards. They can even get awards directly from country leaders too (presidents, monarchs) at events dedicated to soldiers or whatever. So Tyrion, who literally organised the defense of the capitol and was instrumental in saving everyone's lives, should have been rewarded greatly in expressions of gratitude. He's not asking for much nor asking for anything unusual. He's just been shafted because his family hate him for being a dwarf.
The first time I saw actor Lucian Msamati (Salladhor Saan) was in The Number One Ladies Detective Agency filmed entirely in Botswana. HBO took over the BBC production and sadly cancelled it. What I later found out that this actor grew up in my country, Zimbabwe. He was born in London, I was born in South Africa some 25 years earlier.
Season 3 is one of the reasons why I started watching reaction videos in the first place because I wanted to relieve those memories. Hope u guys enjoy as much as I did 😁
Pudgey recognized Ser Barristan Selmy right away even in the hood! 🧠. And then Spartan called him "Belmy" in the comments and told Pudgey, "Don't edit that in.," and she totally left it in -- bahahhaa 🤣
Spartan replacing Jon with Stannis and calling Renly “whatever” made me laugh cause I liked Renly the most out of the Baratheons and couldn’t care less for Stannis. I love seeing these polarizing opinions!
Joffrey is different with Margery because Sansa comes from a house that has fallen and is in open rebellion. He’s allowed to take the mask off with her because he perceives no threat. Margery comes from the family with the largest standing army in the lands. To cause her harm is to nearly guarantee the complete obliteration of your house. Or, at the very least, Kings Landing would be under siege for years.
Did you know the actress that played Talisa is Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter? Chaplin was a famous comedian during the silent film era. If you remember, the kings guard was formed during HotD. So there are several kings guardsmen
Valar Dohaeris - All men must serve. How deeply this Valyrian phrase reveals itself. We have Sir Barristan who, years later, has found his king's daughter to serve her. We have Sam who wants to serve the Night's Watch with all his might, we have Mance who serves the free folk, and Joffrey who must serve the 7 kingdoms and not his ego. Also Davos, who after defeat is loyal to his king. Tywin, who serves not even the kingdom, but his family, which is everything to him.
Hahaha burst out laughing at 'ser bellemys back'... 'ser barriston selmy ..?' .. hahaha. There is a lot of names, we forgive you! Don't even know if I recognised him the first time I saw this (there was year gaps between the seasons though! :P)

There are always 7 kingsguards including a Lord Commander (A captain) of the Kingsguard who guard the royal family. If you remember: Barriston Selmey was dismissed by Joffery and Cercei, and Jamie was promoted to Lord Commander of the kingsguard.
Sir Barriston Selmy was a huge win for daenerys. Yes his a good fighter etc... But in reality it all comes to image and continuity, Having your fathers kings guard choose you as his successor would be a huge westerosie PR bonus, not only that but it was common knowledge during the Baratheon era the kingsguard became a joke with the last living true kingsguard supporting the last living heir, this episode was critical for daenerys as she was on the up and comming, growing dragons, ships, and trade but also having a elder and experienced tactician and guard that could finally fill her in on her history, Jorah did his best but having a member of the kingsguard who served during the Targeryan Dynasty who knew the ins and outs and gossip of the family was a huge win, she was with someone who could now teach her everything she needed while giving her a more respectable position of power as a queen with a queensguard.
Yeah, that would have been a powerful alliance. Robb had no interest in sitting on the throne like Renly, if they would have allied themselves, they would have been a force.
There's one cut scene with Tywin fishing and Pycelle approaching him to talk to him about Tyrion. As much as I hate the guy, I think that's a scene they shouldn't have cut out. Because despite everything he says to Tyrion himself, he will still defend him in front of everyone else, because despite everything "Family comes first". I'm not saying he's a good man, but it would be unfair to call him morally black. He's just a deep shade of gray, but he still draws the line between his family and everyone else.

An interesting thing is Cersei telling Tyrion "They said you'd lost your nose, but it's not as gruesome as all that." is a nod to the books where Tyrion actually lost part of his nose after the Battle of Blackwater.
Good catch on the intro seeing Winterfell up in smoke, also notice that there is no longer a Stark sigil since they've all left home
You have to remember that everyone at court except Varys benefits by convincing Tywin that Tyrion had been a waste as Hand, and at that point it’s all their word vs Tyrion.
Tbh he wasn't the greatest hand and despite Tyrion's attempts to save the city it would've if not for tywin
Sir Barriston is also from the storm lands.
Ser Arthur Dayne was greatest warrior.
After aurther dwane. Barriston is 2nd .
@@kyle-ld2gh barristan>>>>> dayne
I love Ser Baristan
@@razorreacts1723 I agree I love seeing the passion they have for the GOT Universe especially because I have the same passion.
Yeah I agree, there are some good reactors but quite a lot of them obviously just watch it for clout and pay 0 attention.
@@kryzzan7039 sadly I agree with you and I also believe some may have even seen the show already
Number one is don’t trust Hannah?
The kid that tried to kill Danny had bluish lips so I think the implication is that was one of the Warlocks seeking revenge, maybe in shapeshifting form. (Haven't read the books, this is my own speculation.)
Yes in this scene they say "the warlocks" at some point when they see the assassin escape.
You are correct in your speculation. The Qarth warlocks had shapeshifting abilities, the books confirmed it, so it is likely that the child who was sent to assassinate Dany was not a child in reality.
I'm pretty sure they literally say that it is in that scene
Apparently during the scene between Tywin and Tyrion, Charles dance felt so bad about what he was saying to him he was almost in tears and kept breaking character to apologize
I really like how you guys pause the episode to discuss things and not continue talking over the episode. Like after the scene with Tywin and Tyrion. Too many reactors miss key dialogue by continuing to talk over scenes.
These season-starting love/hate lists are tremendously entertaining, just to get a view into what you two think of the characters.

Them having the same mispronunciation of words is honestly couple goals lmao. Wtf is a Prieststress? Although ngl the first time I thought I heard "Priest Dress"

Love your Love-, Like- and Hate-Lists and your discussions about the show. The best thing, when you have two commentators are the different views and ideas.
The intros are called cold openings spartan and there will be a few of them through out the series..and they never dissapoint!
Another Pudgey happy dance when she was correct 😂😂😂
The way I see it - Joffrey has to be nice to Margery, because her family is around, and the second richest house in the kingdoms. If he ever lay a hand on her, even he knows the consequences. Sansa was a play thing for him simply because she had nobody to protect her, and her family were in open war.
Yeah, but there are two more differences:
-Sansa was really naive and he could manipulate her, Margery is more clever and she knows how she has to act near Joffrey.
The big differences is how both Sansa and Margaery treat him
-Sansa treated Joffrey like a god and worship him to a point of small herself down.
She creates a problem by fixing one problem
-Margaery was educated in the political game.
@@soulscyther666 I hope not, cuz that would just undercut and kinda cheapen the phenomenal relationship those two have so many parallels between them for what would feel like fan service more or less, it a really cool theory but God I hope it isn't true
cersei despise him bcs of the prophecy not bcs he is dwarf imao dude you need to grow up
@@eurongreyjoy1008 I was more so hinting towards the fact that Tywin hated him for those 2 reasons where as Cersei hates him because in her head, he purposefully killed his mom to be born.
A couple things to note about dynamics this episode:
On Stannis and Melisandre - Stannis, at this point, is so convinced by Melisandre because she has repeatedly proven herself powerful, and her prophecies correct.
This is a really great post!
Well put
We watched Stannis seeing something in the flames in episode 2x10, he is more convinced than ever.
Also, just to add to the Margery/Joffrey dynamic, Tywin is in the equation now where he wasn't before. Tywin's presence definitely has Joff on better behavior
imagine all of us who had to wait a year between seasons just WAITING for the dragons to grow up haha.
I love it how Sparten uses "what a beast" to refer to everyone from Brianne to Ghost...an actual beast.
Pudgey's instincts are spot on. It's great to watch.

I’ve been binging you guys lately! You’re so fun to watch together! I’m enjoying watching Game of Thrones with you!
@@aaronia8092 yeah I know but since that character in the book is kinda relevant in GOT as opposed to Aegon I didn't want to spoil it
It's impossible not to root for the Starks! Everyone likes other houses and families but after all the shit the Starks go through, you can't not root for them.
The north remembers that Winter is Comming!
I love the reasoning for Tywin making it to the hate list. He's an enabler for his screwed up family to stay in power.
I like when Cersei is talking about Tyrion losing his nose which is a little nod to the book where he actually did lose his nose. I'm so glad they changed it for the show, can you imagine?
It would be a pain to make the makeup like he has no nose and a waste of CGI..so I think they did the correct thing

I’m so excited we’ve made it to season 3!
I read the books when they were current, the Melisandre, Stannis and Cersei were always my favorite characters in the books and therefore the show.
I Love the love/hate lists. The Inevitable dramatic changes in both lists will be interesting to see xD
I haven't even watched the episode yet but your discussions are so engaging and entertaining I just wanted to give praise. Reacting done right.
Regarding Selmy..."How did you pick that up?" Like everyone else, she looked at his face.
I really enjoy that both of you are paying attention 👍

The first time I saw actor Lucian Msamati (Salladhor Saan) was in The Number One Ladies Detective Agency filmed entirely in Botswana. HBO took over the BBC production and sadly cancelled it. Also, it's just 'priestess' not 'priestress'. Take the second 'r' out.
Spartan replacing Jon with Stannis and calling Renly “whatever” made me laugh cause I liked Renly the most out of the Baratheons and couldn’t care less for Stannis. I love seeing these polarizing opinions!
I loved Robert and really liked Stannis but I found Renly the irrelevant one
I love how my mans Spartan stays consistent. Also, he invites ALL the smoke!
House Stark baby boy!!
Seeing how you're on S4 now.. gods it hurt when Spartan said he can't wait for Sansa and Arya to be in Robb's arms again 😭
Excited for you to get there, his reaction is amazing.

Excellent comment, thank you! I never had known how to interpret the meaning of the tiltle of this episode.

Please don’t skip any of the intros! They provide a great overview of where the episodes are set and you might accidentally end up skipping parts of the episodes (cold openings) on accident. Great reactions though… I’m really enjoying your journey though Game of Thrones!
38:10 something about the observation that “that would sting” really made me laugh
There are always 7 kingsguards including a Lord Commander (A captain) of the Kingsguard who guard the royal family.
If you remember: Barriston Selmey was dismissed by Joffery and Cercei, and Jamie was promoted to Lord Commander of the kingsguard.
yaay best season to watch
Sir Barriston Selmy was a huge win for daenerys. Yes his a good fighter etc... But in reality it all comes to image and continuity, Having your fathers kings guard choose you as his successor would be a huge westerosie PR bonus, not only that but it was common knowledge during the Baratheon era the kingsguard became a joke with the last living true kingsguard supporting the last living heir, this episode was critical for daenerys as she was on the up and comming, growing dragons, ships, and trade but also having a elder and experienced tactician and guard that could finally fill her in on her history, Jorah did his best but having a member of the kingsguard who served during the Targeryan Dynasty who knew the ins and outs and gossip of the family was a huge win, she was with someone who could now teach her everything she needed while giving her a more respectable position of power as a queen with a queensguard.
the scorpion-like creratuire used here for the attempt on Daenerys's life is the same one used by oberyn to poison his lances when fighting gregor.
When the intro theme of GoT starts, every fan: “intense”
7:20 “Renly wasn’t too important.” Dang not like he was about to side with Robb and take the iron throne 😂
Yeah, that would have been a powerful alliance. Robb had no interest in sitting on the throne like Renly, if they would have allied themselves, they would have been a force.
I still can't believe how much I enjoy the two of you reacting to this.....ya'll never let me down!
Pugddeys evil laugh made the hair on my arms stand up lol
In the Books, a Direwolf is about the size of a Pony, and not just an "average wolf/trained dog"
So excited for this season! Keep it up dawgs!
