Thanks for sharing, brought me back 46 years, to when I got my Les Paul.
I was a teenager then, I emptied my bank account and then saved every penny I made to finish paying it off.
I got the 1978 - 25/50 Anniversary model in Tobacco Sunburst.
I still have it today!

I grew up next to a Church that integrated music into everything- full band, B3 w Leslie! Guitar player had a gold top w P90s. Life changing moment! Congrats on your LP!

I got myself an 8 string baritone acoustic guitar a few weeks back to celebrate 5 years since I stopped drinking. Seeing that childlike joy in your eyes while opening those giant boxes filmed me with all the same happy feelings all over again and after I watch this I'm gonna go play for a while

Gospel music is a great foundation for soul music. The real old school gospel musicians are king in my book. Im a Gibson goober myself. It’s not cheap being in love with Gibson guitars. Say what you want but I’ve never played any other guitar that feels like a les Paul. Gibson has the feel of what an electric guitar should feel and play like. Same with fender but I. A Gibson guy first and for most. Congratulations, you deserve it. We only live once.

I'm in my 50s and when it's a New Guitar Day, I'm like a kid again lol. Getting a dream guitar is even more
special. Many brands copy a Gibson Les Paul but there is nothing like the real deal. It's even a different feeling when you finally get one. I have been really lucky owning and playing Gibson Les Pauls for over 35
years. Not everyone is the same but they all have their stories to tell. I'm pretty sure when you plug it in,
you won't be able to put it down, Congratulations!

Very nice. A lifetime guitar. I'd put that blank truss cover on for the classic look. The best thing about a new gibson is the wonderful smell. Enjoy and rock on.

Congrats man, I play 2 classics, a 2014 seafoam green top, and a 2016 cherry sunburst. I’ve played Les Paul’s for 40 years had a 76 and a 91 standard previously. The classics have the slimmer necks which I prefer. I also hand wired both my classics 50s style highly recommend doing this it really makes a difference in tone.

I could sense your nerves as you went to open the case for the first time ! You got a good one. Delighted for you. Nice, even, wood grain, well matched sides, very subtle flame, all you could hope for from a "plain top". The Classic, for me, is the pick of the bunch from the current Les Paul line up. 60's Burstbuckers, usable tonal options with the electronics, the right look with the zebra bobbins and binding, the slim neck profile and a little weight saving with the 9 hole weight relief. Great choice.

It’s actually a modern classic. It has the Jimmy page wiring. With the pull pots. It’s also chambered to be lighter. Great guitar mate. I’ve got this in Ebony. Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊

Happy for you...i live about 40 miles from where Gibson made your guitar!! I cut my teeth playing in church too. Enjoy your new les paul.....I love them too....have had several others....but always go back to the les paul.

Congratulations! Gibson LP classic in cherry burst was my first Gibson as well. This was in 2014. Still remains my favourite guitar by far and that’s from a pack that includes a Gibson LP Standard with a stunning AAA+ quilt top. Something about the classic LP with uncovered ‘57 humbuckers generating that delicious fat tone.

I Love the look of a Les Paul with Binding. There is no more beautiful guitar. 😍
But I Love to play a Tele. Whenever I had a Les Paul in my hand in the store, my heart said, "Look at that Telecaster on the wall."
So I bought one because I prefer playing the Fender scale.
