Love my casino (same one).. the action was a little high out of the box but I can't get it as low as some of my other guitars but playable.. The nut is ok but I think a new bone one properly cut would be a nice upgrade. I have thought about doing the wiring and/or pickups but the one in it are actually pretty good and i'm no stranger to swapping pups on my guitars. I got my Casino cheap but like it so much I fancy a royal tan one but they cost a bit :/

Nice soulful playing on a nice guitar, Lamuel! I prefer humbuckers to single coils and the shorter scale of a Gibson compared to a strat. I was so lucky to have found a second hand Tribute for little money (some small, unimportant flaws). Yours has neck- and body-bindings which my tribute lacks, but the pickups are the same, so is the tone, I guess. If Gibsons just weren't so expensive! Have much fun with your dream guitar! One will always remember the day on which they got their first Gibson Les Paul - a joyous occasion to be sure. Yours is a fine looking and sounding specimen. I got my first Gibson Les Paul (new 2009 Traditional/purchased in 2012) as an extremely late 40th (almost 41st) Birthday present; partially from myself, and the rest from my wife. Congratulations! Did you add the gold bridge and tailpiece, or is that how it came from the factory?

I have an Active custom with Grovers as standard a 450 plus and a 450, the 450 came with a damaged switch that i replaced and i also replaced the pups and tuners for wilcos, they all play and feel incredible, so much so i am looking to buy another. All 3 came to the grand sum of £495, i sold my les paul std to pay bills accumulated during lockdown and i do not miss it a jot.

like your playing upmost...... the gibson sounds snappier not what i expect as a les paul humbucker sound . the harley benton sounded warmer although the downside is some limitation on upper dynamics on that i would not spend two thousend plus on the gibson. Thank you, as a German i might get a HB even without shipping cost much cheaper and try to catch some of your blues vibe bro

I have the blonde Natural one. Great build, but the running gear on the one was lacking. It has the smaller pots, which are Chinese crap. Pickups were lacking, so i replaced them with Lollar Dog ears, Tuners, nut, Bridge, Tailpiece all replaced as well. I mwas able to do parts at a time, so it was great!

Sir. You touched so many important aspects of guitar philosophy in such a gentle way. I'm professional musician for like 25 years. I had some HB and they are fantastic entry level guitars. It's a mistery how they are able to deliver such a great value for such a small cost. I'm from Poland and we could only pray for such a great instruments in 70' 80' 90's. All we had was horrible guitars of local or eastern Germany production. Western instruments were worth like few months salaries... Today if you want to start your adventure with music you can pay 1/4 of month salary and grab fantastic, playable instrument. It's a miracle. Having said that if you got step higher and had a chance to play Gibsons, Fenders etc. there is a place where another story begins. For a professional musician is a choice of trust. HB are great, playable instruments but I can't imagine to fall in love with them. There is something missing. That invisible element of heritage and knowledge. BUT in a few years or decades will will have a lot of great musicians infected to music by HB instruments. Great!

Does it have neck dive issues? Often SGs do...also Lem,, her name was Sister Rosetta Tharpe, not Sharpe...easy mistake

Now how can you beat that? Question being, are the pickups high output? Seth Lover's were usually under 8k. That's what I prefer anyway. Low output pickups, high gain amp. You know, kinda like a man named Jimi dug! But that sure is a sweet guitar!

Like you i have wanted one of these for a while. Sadly HB is not available here in Oz, the Epiphone version is quite expensive, one day maybe. Another great vid Lem, staya cool.

lovely, i recommend a lil reverb, hall, plate, or spring 65 action on that, with the treb a lil down and some bass up, middle user prefrences imo but, just sounds a bit, not full? idk, i know it aint the guitar, so it has to be some settings, all love tho, love the RNB feel
