I must say a massive thanks to all who have added and shared their favourite guitar 🎸, I have come to realise when choosing your guitar is to first ask what you want from your guitar? Then, use your intuition and trust your own judgement and instincts to guide your decision ✨️ hopefully Happy days.
If it sounded this good through pc speakers, I can only imagine what it sounded like in the room. What a beaut. Really nice playing too. The Westbury reminds me of the old Westones - they were brilliant guitars too.

Looks well made, my favourite guitar is my 1981 Yamaha sg600 ebony.
Nice, I have always wanted an Sg2000.
I have an 81 Westbury Track4 bass with 2 P-style Di Marzio pickups. The body looks very similar style to this. It's a beautiful beast of bass.

My favourite guitar is a Japanese made Les Paul from the Fujigen factory, an Orville 96. Along with a Daion - 81 Caribou, both japanese. They are amazing

My favourite guitar is my 1984 Squire Telecaster, I bought it from new and gigged it up until around 1994 but managed to keep it in very good condition.
It came set up perfectly from the get go which was unheard of back then and still very rare today, it just plays silky smooth.
When I bought it I had been saving up forever to buy a Fender Telecaster and had fully intended to buy the Fender when I went to the store but they all had issues and I was about to sack the idea when the salesman asked if if I wanted to try out the Squier, I had never even heard of Squier and so was very unsure and confused why a guitar made by a company owned by Fender and with the Fender name on the headstock would sell a better guitar cheaper, but once I had played it for a while I was sold
But I still tried the Fender again just to be sure

Matsumoko guitars are just crazy good guitars, mostly under most people's radar though. This one looks like it's brand new
I agree with you wholeheartedly. If someone wanted a quality instrument and couldn't afford say a Gibson or Fender or Prs, a good alternative is a guitar of bass from the Matsumoko factory, and will be more than satisfied with the Quality and player ability of the instruments.
Yes, my guitar was well loved and looked after, I got lucky finding it.

My favourite is my 1996, Mexican-made Telecaster. When the Westbury guitars came to the UK in the very late 70s/early 80s, they were notable as original designs that were both affordable and high quality. Prior to this, Japanese guitars were either expensive, or copies, of variable quality. Around the same time as the Westbury guitars (maybe a little later), Ibanez introduced the Blazer and Roadstar II models, which were fantastic.

Mr Lem, your guitar reminds me of an Alembic guitar. The carved body, controls, harmonica bridge, 5 piece neck and the almost 10 pound weight. Real nice review.

Man, my first electric guitar was a Westbury Standard, burgundy coloured probably made in the same factory in Japan as yours, and what a fantastic guitar. It had the DiMarzio Pickups and it sounded fantastic and played really well. Unfortunately, a friend of mine borrowed it, and it was stolen. That must have been some 30 years ago. I want to if there are any lying around somewhere because I would like to buy one. Just to satisfy my nostalgia, I guess :) this particular guitar, you have there looks like a souped up version of the standard, probably has the same pick ups though.
My favourite guitar might actually surprise some people. I have an Epiphone LP, and a Yamaha Revstar with P 90s, and one with humbuckers (fantastic guitars those Yamaha's), also, I have a Japanese made 1990 Ibanez JEM, and a "proper" Fender Strat and a Tele, but my favourite sounding guitar is not the fender telecaster, but our Tradition (Jerry Reid) Nashville Telecaster.
Tradition what is an American company that had some interesting designs bilton traditional designs, obviously like the Tele and had these guitars built to the specifications overseas. My Telecaster was built by the Samik factory in South Korea. It sounds way better than the fender and has many usable sounds because essentially it has two splittable humbuckers and the traditional telecaster bridge pickup.

I really like the black Gibson SG style guitars. I love the knob placement. I dunno about the neck strap placement but I've never actually owned one so it might grow on me. I've noticed that your Japanese version has humbuckers instead of the p90s. I gotta say I like that choice for rock music. Plus with the Japanese version, it's probably a lot cheaper than the American made Gibson which is normally $1600 American bucks.

Oh wow, awesome, regarding my fender blue junior,it's making some weird noises. I need to get it checked out, I would recommend a Vox ac10, it's small and lightweight ideal for home use, but more importantly, it will give you that blue tone . I will get one soon.

What do mean you're retiring?
Chewed up, dented frets, tremolo fulcrum post has pulled out of the body and I don't even have a arm installed. C shape neck too small and cramped for my large hands. Time for a wide thin neck.
Already had a replacement for over a year, just had to graduate to it. I think I am worthy of it now.
When I get some nickels and dimes saved up, I'll get it redone and give it to the grandkids. Small neck just is not cutting it, damaging my hand. Love the tone of the pickups in it.
